Grind reduction when?

Like seriously, the amount of grind for bp you need is astounding, it requires more grind than f2p games?

And what is this for? There is already grind for cosmetics in form of shards, which you can actually skip by paying for cosmetics.

Now, what does grind for bp do? The only thing it really does is strenghtening the gap between players who play since the beggining and newcomers.

Grind is probably one of the most offputting things in this game, especially with the mmr that is not working correctly making it even more apparent that if you don't have meta perks or play like a scum you wont get far.

It would be nice but I don't think it'll happen in the way we all want

After they fix MMR, maps, huntress' and blight's hitboxes, window hits and SWF.

    That is, never.

They are waiting until I am done with the grind to do something about it. So maybe in 2 or 3 years, max

I don't understand why they don't remove per tiers. Removing them will reduce the grind by 2/3, and the amount of new perks that would need to be implemented to match where the grind is now would take many, many years, and I don't see DBD being around that long.

The grind needs to be reduced at some point, I’d hate to be a new player today.

Because from a technical point of view, as they explained (and it's true), it wouldn't be that easy. Combine it with the spaghetti code DBD is written in and it probably would take ages to find any possible bug

From a players point of view, perk tiers might look as useless to veteran/older players, but to new players it actually gives a feel of progression. Remember when you were new and would unlock a stronger tier, the excitement behind it? Honestly I wouldn't like to remove that from new players.

What they could do is gradually reduce the grind based in playtime, number of characters unlocked, prestige level. Or they could flat out do number changes in blood points.

I think they said they are actively working on it. So maybe 4-6 years?

From my point of view it doesn't matter how difficult it is because it is a necessity. It isn't a request at this point. It is needed for this game to keep going much longer.

We need the removal of tier 1 and 2 on perks to reduce the grind. While you're at it, get rid of ascension 1 and 2 and make the bloody outfits show up in the tree after all perks have been purchased.

If you aren't convinced have someone do the math for you. How much time is necessary to ascend ONE character through with ALL perks? This means leveling ALL of either survivor or killer to 40 then ascending ONE to tier 3 50+. Now do the math for ALL of them. When you are adding nearly quarterly DLC, cosmetics like six times a year, and a battlepass system, you already have enough reasonable feeling of progression for old players, you don't need the insane grind anymore for the new ones.

From the standpoint of bugs it seems logical that in the end this would make balancing and bugs easier to deal with, not harder, because there would be no variety in these perks.

Boon: Grind reduction - standing in the boon area grants 10k BPs per second. If hit by the killer, insta-escape.

They are reworking prestige, more details soon.

Sorry for not addressing your actual question, I was just role-playing as Behavior a bit.

Something tells me that only when DbD enters a true player count free fall that they'd implement it but it will be too late.

As much as I hate to say it but:

They have repeatedly shown that unless their feet are to the fire they won't fix anything.

Honestly at this rate, I don't expect them to implement anything that the community is asking for. How many years now has the DBD community been asking for things like grind reduction, console optimization, bots, perk load outs, etc? The recent Q&A was the latest in a long line of "no plans", "coming soon", and "we can't say". BHVR is going to do what they want, and the community will just have to deal with it. They've already lost over half their player base on Steam, and even that wasn't enough to give them the swift kick they needed.

Dude that doesn't sound like them, it's more.

We're reworking prestige, but here is another nerf to twins while you wait 😜

Yeah, they could do so at prestige 2, all perks spawn at lvl 2 on the bloodweb. And at prestige 3 all perks are already at tier 3.

The bloodweb i find the most monotonous, rng on when perks show up is not fun or interactive. Dump a million into someone just to get some prestige and its a endless chase for cheapest bp options to get through 50 levels.

Then when you get to p3 it's rng out of your 50+ perks to get the ones you want.

Just give the entity a alter you can offer bp as an offering that lets you buy "x" perk/addon/offering you want.
