Is there anything I can do to improve my in-game frames without sacrificing graphics too much?

I bought dbd on my laptop since it was on sale, but the game is unplayable right now no matter what I do: I can either turn all the graphics settings all the way down and have to put way too much energy into just being able to see anything in the game, or I can leave them as the default and endure a sub-30 FPS frame rate.

I did some research, and my Laptop doesn't have a replaceable graphics card. I don't know a lot about computers, so I don't know what my options are outside of just changing around some settings around.

I suggest using brightness filters when lowering your resolution, if your monitor doesn't support that then you can manually increase it on Windows (I'm certain you can do this on other operating systems.)
