Is Fnaf really gonna be the 6th anniversary
(I'm going to address this before we get to it I originally made a post called "Addressing fnaf critics" a mod took it down and told me it was "Controversial" however he did not specify what it made it controversial I have thought about reuploading it but again He didn't specify what it was so I will not be reuploading it at least for now)
Will it make money? The most easy answer YES out of any of the candidates fnaf would make the most money out of any license for the 6th anniversary so yes that's one reason
Dev support? The devs have talked about a fnaf chapter with a ui designer at the time said she wanted to see a fnaf chapter.
Does the community want it? Whether you like it or not the people who like and want fnaf in dbd have a majority in the community and I am not just pulling this out of my ass I did a survey and I found that people who want fnaf have a majority over the people who don't
Conclusion
Fnaf is the most likely license that behavior will have for the 6th anniversary but that does not mean it is guaranteed but it does not mean its not impossible

Just replace his line with "killer is fnaf".
Not saying it's impossible or that I'm even against it. But it's practically a meme at this point.

I personally think the 6th anniversary will be either. Predator, Alien, Friday the 13th or Five nights at Freddy’s
4 -
I sincerely hope so.
That might even bring me back to the Fog.
10 -
It could be, but I don't want it to be. Not because "FNaF is for children!" or "FNaF isn't scary, it's just a jumpscare simulator!", but because I don't trust the devs to make a unique Killer Power for such an odd design. They'd have to use FNaF 3 Springtrap, and he doesn't do much in-game, he crawls and that's about it. They could make a unique Power, but looking at how Nemesis turned out, I'm not hopeful
5 -
Honestly I want more than anything a bit of Scifi horror in my killers too many are supernatural
1 -
Im betting FNaF or Friday, either one I'd be happy with.
3 -
The chances are pretty high, I'd say. And personally, I'd be pretty happy if we got it.
4 -
I sure hope not. Just feels odd having a children’s character in a horror game for mature audiences. I get that plenty of adults enjoy the franchise, but still feels odd to me.
12 -
I don't think that will happen. Every single anniversary since the third we've gotten a big license. I don't think the devs will break that cycle.
1 -
Sorry its just not gonna work that way I'm afraid which is prolly a good thing and a bad thing
0 -
Wait a killer zombie robot rabbit is some how for children?
7 -
Originals are better but the licenses are what bring in money since you can only buy them and they draw in new players. I would love for them to celebrate anniversary with original but it unfortunately won't happen.
0 -
That's debatable I mean stranger things was better than a lot of originals if you ask me
1 -
Agreed, more original characters with a reason to make sacrifices to the entity. I like playing michael but i dont recall the entity in any halloween movies 🤷♂️ i know its a bit of fun , but licenced characters should remain minimal.

it's gonna be fnaf, f13, alien or dead space. there is nothing left to discuss at this point i think. nothing to go off of for speculation, with how bhvr has been releasing chapters lately they're just gonna tell us a week after ringu releases anyway.
i miss having clues and fun discussions on what the next killer is gonna be, 4th anniversary was fun because there were hints that it was silent hill, the hype building for the hellraiser chapter and the red herrings included with it (and subsequent destruction of that hype because nfts). new chapters exist purely for filler at this point, releasing something because they have to. creativity has run dry and will continue to run dry indefinitely.

Yes, it is literally categorized for children. The creator even stated it is a children's jump scare property. He made it so children could enjoy scary games without true horror.
I don't see them letting BHVR put the property in DbD as it would betray the original concept of the property.
My money would be on Dead Space. There were rumors of a collab with BHVR last year. There's a new Dead Space property coming out this year.

Well it’s a 12+, a significant portion of the fan base are kids/early teens, and it’s marketed with toys and posters geared towards children.
I’m not saying adults can’t enjoy the franchise or that it was designed exclusively for kids, but it seems to me that it was conceived with kids in mind and is what we call “child friendly.”
That doesn’t seem like a good fit for DBD imho. The thought of fnaf standing alongside Myers, Freddy, Pinhead etc just makes me chuckle.

While I also don't trust the devs that much, they did do a pretty good job with Pyramid Head despite him not doing much in his game. Also I honestly don't know how they messed up Nemesis considering it felt obvious at what he should have.
0 -
You are not wrong there. They did a superb job with Demigorgan.
1 -
Yeah, BHVR knows how to work with licensed content, it is just that recent examples are kinda...bad.
3 -
I'm gonna use a quote schmuckles used "fnaf has a dark and mature story that younger audiences can view since its gameplay is rather PG"
2 -
Would be extremely lack luster for a 6th anniversary, introducing the least known of all licensed characters.
6 -
Or alien vs Predator ohh god 2 killers one surv chapter!
1 -
Doubt
4 -
Now that you say that a double creature feature chapter would be fun.
That being said I can't imagine the devs actually doing it given the buggyness of solo killer releases.
2 -
It's going to be another two or three years at the least before Friday can be used.
Yes, the main lawsuit has been decided, but there are still years of legal questions and appeals ahead of us (the question of who actually owns Jason, the hockey mask-wearing undead serial killer hasn't been asked yet), and then a deal would have to be worked out after that, and then BHVR actually has to create a character concept, program him into the game, and test him.
Only hope for a shorter timeline is if everyone involved in the original lawsuit decides to shake hands and make a mutually beneficial deal with BHVR.
Also, keep in mind that the writer of the original script didn't envision Jason as a killer, and if he gets the rights to the character, you might have to kiss anything featuring Jason the machete-wielding monster goodbye, depending on how he feels about that going forward.
We need more classic monsters. Where the hell are Dracula, Frankenstein, the Mummy, and the Wolf Man? Those aren't even licensed characters anymore in their original literary forms. There's no reason why we couldn't have Dracula or Carmilla tomorrow if BHVR decided they wanted it.
Even if they wanted to wait until they could convince Universal to let them use Bela Lugosi's image for Dracula or whatever, Carmilla doesn't have a definitive iconic copyrighted image in film, and it's hard to go wrong with a werewolf. Pretty sure Jewel of Seven Stars is public domain, for that matter, so a mummy could happen. And they could always use Count Orlok from Nosferatu without asking permission.

I hope not. FNAF does not fit into this game. And besides, what kind of map or survivor would we get if this did happen?
6 -
Ultimately I don't really care what ends up in the game as long as it's another female killer with a tortured past and history of domestic abuse who just can't wear shoes for some odd reason.
3 -
"does not fit".... i have never seen a more wrong sentence.
7 -
Why is it wrong? FNaF is listed as a children's property. There is no gore, no on screen murder. No dismemberment. DbD is a much more mature property focused on blood, gore, dismemberment, torture, death, eternal damnation and suffering.
Two very different concepts.
6 -
Did you forget fnaf 3? spring trap literally has guts visible inside him. And the lore is literally a child murderer making robots that he then kills kids then stuff them into to get them to be possessed then dismantle them on a mission for immortality. So labeling fnaf as "for children" is far from correct. Also you forgot the first games death screen has human eyes peeking out of the suit so there is gore there, the second talking about a part of someone's head getting bitten off, minigames that shows someone killing a child and a different on giving life to dead bodies.
Also for the part of "doesn't fit in" like bruh we have survivors running around in onsies, as a present/elf, people without shirts, a penguin outfit and hell even a kpop star. You telling me that really fits in a game that's supposed to be classified as "horror"?
7 -
I don't get why people want Friday, like... what would Jason possibly do that trapper doesn't do already? Last i remember the only thing he did was trap someone's foot in a bear trap
2 -
I mean that's your opinion, but I was just stating mine. Seeing an animatronic running around in DBD just seems silly to me. 🤷♀️
3 -
It's not just my opinion it really is factually wrong. That is further proven how you think a killer robot running around seems silly but you fail to mention the cosmetics they add that also make this game silly. Does anyone go around and say "I'm afraid of Mr. Puddles clown"?
1 -
Exactly. Like, do people really think DbD is some mature, gory, insanely scary game or something? Personally, I'd actually say it's less scary than playing any of the Fanf games.
5 -
Im not going to dismiss Fnaf because there fans arent the easiest to talk too (just look at this thread) I am just going to say theres like 10 licenses I could think off the dome that should be here before Fnaf is even considered. Just my opinion and it dont truly matter wat i think or what you think....Bhvr will do what they want whether we like it, ask for it, swear on a stack of bibles, or beg them.
4 -
Clown has all sorts of funny outfits because he's... well a clown. Which some people are scared of.
I grew up on the FNAF franchise and I never found it all that scary. Springtrap was never that scary. A animatronic running around in DBD would make it look like one of those funny FNAF GMOD videos you'd see back in the day. Again, this is just my opinion. 🤷♀️
3 -
Ah, the bi-monthly FNAF spam has returned.
7 -
Oh forgot to mention all the survivor skins that look silly. Legion has some neon skin that makes them look more cool than scary, trapper gets turned into krampus, deathslinger gets pajamas etc. I also find most people that say they didn't find fnaf scary never really got immersed in the experience. Most of them often say "it's just a jumpscare sim you can predict. Like sure that's part of it but there's so many more factors that makes it scary. Here's a video for an in-depth explanation how what fnaf did in it's games actually made it scarier to play. How Audio Enhances the Horror of Five Nights At Freddy's - YouTube. But just playing the game doesn't make it that scary but actually listening to the stuff around you is how you get immersed into it.
1 -
Thats the thing, it wasn't "I wouldn't mind it being in even though I personally don't find it scary". It was them saying they hope not because it doesn't fit into the game. At that point it needs X Y Z to at least try to make people understand. It really doesn't make sense to call that an opinion when it's more of a statement. Nor will people leave it like that, people will ask questions why and either prove what they said wrong or not.
0 -
It's overhyped, not scary†, the only character that has wider awareness from it isn't the thing people keep proposing, and has [BAD WORD] all to turn into a power. Just for reasons that it could easily not be.
† No, I don't consider jumpscares as counting, and all the stuff that fits in with the whole gore and violence thing is relegated to second-hand background info.

I wasn't saying their opinion was right or wrong? I was proving wrong how FNAF wouldn't fit when they stated that they don't want FNAF in. Saying something wouldn't fit in is a statement, now saying "I feel like" which tells the reader it's more of an opinion than someone straight up saying it wouldn't fit in. Overall they just poorly chose their words.

Indeed.

He would encase them in a sleeping bag and whack em around.

I'm saying it's okay but calling a statement of someone's opinion to inadvertently say it's the same thing as their opinion just seems... off. There is a difference between proving a statement wrong and telling someone their opinion is wrong. It's like going up to Stephen Hawking or a NASA scientist and saying "I'm smarter than you in this" despite having no research in their field of work. Are you telling me there is no right and wrong in that situation because it's a statement of their opinion?
0 -
Probably because I don't think the other things fit either and I'd rather not have ANOTHER thing that doesn't fit,
3 -
I will discretely leave this here:
8 -
Exactly.
Everyone has opinions on the thing, but to me most of them are just generic responses.
You got Teen Fnaf is Dark. Then is followed by Uncle Fnaf is for Kids but then followed by the Grandpa who is forgotten and left at Senior citizens home called Fnaf is nostalgic. It's funny how few people consider about it being nostalgic. It might not be someone's cup of tea but it was in a horror category for a lot of people even if they were kids or teens back in 2014 which by now they are adults or late teens.
I still find it funny how people think Fnaf will not be ingame even though the Devs put it on the Survey which means its on their watch list.
People got to remember "Unless Devs says other wise, Said franchise has a chance to be ingame".
If the Devs want Scooby Doo and Rambo in the game then Springtrap can be ingame.
Also gonna be honest would be cool to see what he look like ingame. The Design would be gorier than the official design. You have sounds of flesh tearing and bones cracking against rusted metal. Lastly, I would love to see his power because I would hope would be Stealth/Chaser killer. Ironically, there are quite bit of powers he can have like a Jumpscare mechanic like Hag/Myers, cameras to show survivor's Aura, Phantoms to torment survivors, a teleport mechanic, or a bunch of powers in base kit like Freddy or Pig.
Lastly the weapon can just be a Fire axe as a reference to Fazbear Fright burning down and also it's a choice weapon in lot of media.
Overall the Devs could make Springtrap the most fun killer in DBD yet based on Fnaf game mechanics and some media influence.

Eh I don't think your proving the point you think you are using a community made JOKE cosmetic on a JOKE character as a comparison to spring trap.
Being honest it kinda makes spring trap look even less worthy of getting in as it makes spring trap look like a bad joke skin.
3 -
Not really a joke Cosmetic since the Clown worked at a Circus that kept elephants.
[Edit] I mean that a costume you would expect to see in a Circus.
