McLean (Blight's creator): I want Blight to be able to pick when to slide or slam
McLean: [Makes his Rush collision detector have 2 components, the second of which uses the camera angle to determine the collision size and thus whether he collides or slides]
People: "This is clearly unintentional."

Well, sliding is what actually distinguishes good and meh players. It's easy to just slam and hit, but slides and flicks requires some more skill, when and how to use.

Survivor Moonwalking is also not intended.

I miss McLean even more now

You mean:
Survivors: "This is clearly unintentional. Devs, fix it because we hate it."
6 -
Except literally the only people deciding the sliding is a 'bug' or 'exploit' are whiny Survivors so it's less bias and more 'the truth'. Sorry if you can't handle that.
Maybe Survivors should be less whiny and I'd stop pointing out how much they whine.

You can argue that this is an "exploit", however you have enough ways to counter it and it also requires a lot of skill, I dont see any issue with it.
With that argument you can also say that CG tech, locker CG or even 360s should be removed cuz its not "normal".

It seems everyone just glossed over the moonwalk part and went straight for the "slide is unintentional" part.
No, MOONWALK slides shouldn't be possible. Don't be hopeful that they will fix it any time soon though.

locker CG should be removed because there is pretty much no counter for it, similar to boil over.

Lemme tell you the secrets my grandparents have taught me...
Just dont pick up and wait for a second.

Where McLean explains the Rush collision detector mechanic: https://clips.twitch.tv/SaltyBeautifulFoxTriHard-d5EklvyTscZluOLe
Where McLean acknowledges sliding is an intentionally created mechanic: https://www.twitch.tv/mclean_yep/clip/SullenProductiveAlmondPastaThat-3gIl_qyQ2UAmaqun
Can't find the verbatim first quote given these were said nearly a year ago and I don't recall which VOD at which moment it was from, but I hope these suffice.
As a little bonus, where McLean explains the process of double flicking (flick, M1 to reset turn cap, flick again) is intended: https://www.twitch.tv/mclean_yep/clip/AmorphousFaithfulKleeTheTarFu-jPzbiLNS-Dku-899
