Block survivor names

People playing survivor should have their names hidden from the killer until post game.

Why?

To help the small streamers. Majority of the small streamers aren't trying to bully killers. They are just trying to play and have fun. But far too often the killer shows up in their stream, and without saying anything uses this to camp, tunnel, and just ruin the streamers game all so they can "hear the reaction". This isn't fun. And honestly it's not right to be targeted so often purely because we stream.

Before the anticipated "just take ttv out of your name" argument comes up, this is the absolute best way for a small streamer to grow their community in the games they play. Asking us to remove that because others have no integrity isn't fair.

Imagine how awful it would be streaming killer having 4 survivors in your chat watching everything you're trying to do? It would be awful. Just as bad as a killer using your stream to come find you right away and tunnel you.

It's such an easy fix and does 0 harm to anyone to just block the names from the killers view, just like you do killer perks for survivors, until the match is over.

10 times today alone I had to deal with killers harassing with face camping, tunneling, bringing a mori just for me. I'm not even toxic toxic to them. It's a terrible experience and sucks the fun from the game.

Please add this simple fix.

You honestly cant really prevent this its just a side effect of bored players but you can get a group of streamers together to turn the tables

Ah yes block the names so survivors will abuse it by all wearing the same skin and accuse the killers of tunneling

I play survivor and killer and I know for a fact the toxic portion of survivors will do this

Also what is it with streamers screaming stream snipers like not everyone is going to be stream sniping and heck most of the time you are offline so why have the ttv in your name if you want to grow a following stream while using the ttv name not just have it in your name at all times no one is going to follow/sub to a channel that isn't even streaming just because you have ttv in your name during a dbd match

I mean, ngl I don't see anything wrong with the killer not being able to see survivor usernames until post match. Currently, if a killer wants to dodge because they recognize survivor names that they don't want to play against, they can and I think that's cheeky.

I'll give you a scenario in that case so you do see something wrong 2 megs wearing the same outfit and 2 fengs wearing the same outfit have the pairs always be together and always healing eachother one of them gets killed and you get accused of tunneling

Because that's what the toxic portion of the survivor base is going to do if names are hidden until post game

And before you say no one is going to do that I had 4+ encounters with survivors wearing the same outfit and yes they were toxic the only reason I knew who was who was because of the names and portraits when I wounded one of them

Idc if I get accused of it I'm just pointing out how it's going to be annoying seeing messages saying tunnler pop up 50x more if it happens because toxic survivors would spread this tactic around as a strat to confuse killers which it will

Like all this is going to do is give us more crying and moaning from both sides and false reports

I like seeing the names beforehand, it helps me to dodge active cheaters and players that have previously attempted to take games hostage.

So take away our only option to identify the hackers that are still on steam? Gotcha

Also this I would rather much have the ability to spot and avoid a cheater over a ttv who isn't streaming getting a small qol thing

No. The problem is killers have a serious disadvantage in this game. The only way we can avoid bullying and threats is to see who we play and avoid the worst. If you play cool you dont have anything to worry about. But ive had survivors telling me my mother should have got an abortion simply cos i hooked them twice. Threats of violence. I understand your situation but in this game killers need some way of avoiding previous bad players. Many of those experiences have come from streamers. Im not saying they all all bad, but many are unfortunately . Sorry .

I also had insults thrown left and right at me because I decided to have them and their swf bleedout on the ground because they were running breakout and boilover going into narrow areas knowing they would get downed and I thought it would be hilarious for them to crawl and bleedout at a 99 gate like the growing excuse doesn't work when a ttv is in a 4 man swf also I saw the vod the next day because a friend saw the Pic I posted in discord and told me there was a vod and that's how I found out about the insults also they had jumpscares as a gimmick so I don't feel bad about bleeding them out they deserved it

So you want people to see the name and go to the stream but not be able to see the names?

Exactly what's stopping survivors from trolling a ttv name heck my friend does it a bit to get a reaction than once he gets a reaction he leaves them alone

Even if names are hidden streamers would still find a way to accuse the killer of tunneling/camping/stream sniping.

I understand that hiding the survivor names has some benefits as you described, but it creates several other problems that others in here already detailed.
