Why do we even have a PTB?!

Here's the thing that's been bothering me for a while now and I'm pretty sure some of you or even most of you can relate. Ptb for those who don't know means public test beta or get hyped for new crap that's going to get reworked or Nerf anyway.

This is a question I'm going to ask in the next Dev stream. Probably not going to get answered as usual like all the other hard-hitting questions but hey it's worth a shot.

Why don't we use the ptb to regularly test any particular change you plan on making?

Seriously, you keep saying that the Freddy change is coming but we don't see it. Is it really that hard to just rework the public test beta in a way that everyone will be on the same page when it comes to perks or better yet allow us to see some of these different Freddy change. I don't care if there's at least three or more Freddy's on a page with different abilities allow people to test them out and see what they like and what they don't.

Allow ways to inspect the meat before trimming the fat off at least. This doesn't just go for Freddy but darn near everything. If there's something you want to test allow us to test it for you as well as your own testers. This Freddy change would have been out by now not to mention other balance changes.

Also party people understand that I mentioned Freddy but this is mostly about the fact that we don't utilize the PTB enough if at all.

Em well we did have a PTB for Trapper, Hag pretty sure.
Maybe "Freddy change is coming" means they are still thinking about what to do

Did you watched the live stream yesterday? They went a little bit into detail why reworks like these from Freddy take long. Take look into it and see if statement is satisfying you.

But I agree with your last part here in general:

Devs need to understand that we really like to try out new things and to help them getting faster to the goals

Freddy rework probably wont be this year they said, like the above poster its not just a simple change to Freddy, each map and perk for example needs to be made sure everything works with his changes, its not as staright forward as many think.

With that being said they have been using the PTB more over the past few months than they ever did so it that has gotten better, the problem with the PTB of course is luring people in, the last one seemed to not lure streamers in compared to the others, probably as most are survivor mains.

The player test build is made to help players alert the developers on any bugs or if they need to nerf or buff something, this also can be used for several different things like testing survivor perks or killers power/perks to see if they are bugged or need buffed or nerfed

I have the feeling that many of the players who participate in PTB may be the most biased ones. Just a hunch though.
But there's also that it's not that many people who do participate, and even that number is reduced a few days into it, when they get fed up with the long lobby queues. It's not that bad when a new killer is about to be released, but when it's only qol patch, it may not even be worth it to bother making PTB available.

When it comes down to the ptb it isn't just Freddy I'm talking about I'm talking about the PTB in general.

Why not use it to test minor changes to critical ones. Not to mention if you want to test Freddy then why not fix the ptb so that's the only killer used.

If they have different variants of his abilities then put them up and number them as well.

I understand it takes time to make a change. Heck I'm in a gaming class now and I am a coder myself so I understand but there is a way to test at a more useful way.

Yes I saw the whole stream... their answers are lacking so much meat that I felt like asking for a refund. How are you going to half-ass an answer?

I wouldn't mind if there was a bloodpoint incentive for partaking in future PTBs.

As it stands, I think that PTBs do not pull enough people. Who can blame them?

You usually wind up getting a test game after waiting for a very long time. Too long. This makes people want to re-install the current version of the game because at least you get games and bloodpoints again.

Make the experience with testing feel more worth it so people do not feel like they are wasting time.
