Either personally or in general

1: Unbreakable and or DS

2: Dead Hard

People are mostly bad in this game so the experiences in solo que can be quite horrible!

Recently, i started stacking ds/ bt. Before, i was only using one at a time or neither. I can definitely feel a big difference (not in each trial, but on an overall point of view).

Kindred and either CoH/Self-Care. BT as well but don't count on being rescued with it.

Bro…big shout out to @Otzdarva for dropping the 10 game escape streak vid, earlier this week. In it, he explained how underrated Clairvoyance is. First of all I didn’t even know how to use the damn perk. All this time I thought it was a boon, and kept forgetting to try to use it. It’s a great perk to have in solo que, for when you encounter really bad teammates. The ones that ragequit or give up on hook when they run into Pinhead or The Artist with the new meta perks.

You just need to cleanse a totem, and if you happen to be the last survivor- hold the ability button to channel the aura of the hatch. Now as we know hatch is considered a “Draw” now, but I’ll take it over the alternative- being sacrificed for a loss. This is most satisfying when you get screwed over by MMR during non-peak hours.

Clairvoyance has a range of 64 meters! So if you’re in the middle of the map, you’ll definitely see hatch from where you're standing. This is much better than Open-Handed and Left Behind. You get further the distance for the price of one perk. The only caveat is you only get 10 seconds of aura reading per cleansed totem, so use sparingly. I wonder if Open-Handed would extend it to 70 meters (really not needed)?

Oh- also good for games where you had good teammates but not so nice killers, like a tea bagging Ghostface slashing you on hook, even though you were respectful. Feels really good to jump in a hatch right in front of their face for being cocky.

I play pretty much exclusively Solo Queue, one perk that can be VERY helpful is Kindred, it lets you see if anyone else is going for saves, and shows you the killer if they aren't undetectable, and then the same applies for all your teammates when you get hooked. However, I don't usually find myself running this perk, as I usually don't find it necessary.

The other perk I always bring every game no matter what is Borrowed Time. If I have it on a survivor, I WILL bring it, no exceptions. Because I don't want to be the guy who never unhooks someone because he doesn't have BT, and I don't wanna be the guy who unhooks in the killer's face only for the person who was on hook to get farmed and tunneled.

I used to also bring Spine Chill a lot, and I probably will start to again eventually, but I've been trying to play without it to see how well I do, I mostly just brought it for killers with Tinkerer or for Stealth killers like Wraith, Myers, Ghostface, etc.

I refused to play solo queue without kindred until very recently. Lately I've been trying to get used to playing without it.

I can see Kindred for sure but Windows isnt a good solo que perk imo at all its good for knowing where the good loops are but thats a personal thing and does very little to nothing to raise your survival % or rate.

Neither? lol Those are my personal perks for solo que so obviously your gonna have a different answer.

Yeah Kindred is definetly a big deal and game changer (most of the time). Self Care takes to long to heal but BT is definelty a go to as well.

Ok so Kindred and DS or Kindred and Borrowed Time. Yeah this is definetley a thing and seemingly a must have for solo que.

Good point! Its gotten to a point where i was so demoralized and desperate that i started running Open Handed/Bond and Kindred together. When i got disappointed at the results with those perks i've tried Left Behind with a key. Yeah so my survivor experience most of time has caused me to just concentarte on myself and endgame bc im expecting to have atrocious teammates, you know the teammates that make ALL the wrong descisions lol I'll try out Clarivoyance later, thanks!

ps: As you can tell i have 0 faith in people lol

Solo que in a nutshell! )

I am a big fan of the Kindred and Open Handed combo.

Kindred offers so much info and helps a lot in coordinating, even if you can't talk to each other, and the added radius of Open Handed lets you keep tabs on the killer when he isn't guarding the hook any more. Really, the area is so massive that its borderline unfair for the killer and you can so easily move out of sight. I sometimes regret unhooking someone, just for the info on the killer :D

Out of all the nice qualities i listed for Clairvoyance, you choose that to focus on?? That wasn’t the main idea of my post nor this thread.

All I said was “not so nice,” so you can actually apply your “take serious” or “no big deal” to that as well. Very strange, bro…

Windows tells you what resources have/havent been used ahead of time, which prevents you from running into loops with no pallets/opened doors. Thats on top of allowing you to route chases in advance and chain loops together easily, which can be extremely strong time wasters to ruin killer pressure and give allies time to figure things out without coordination.

    Kindred and any 2nd chance.

So manytimes I was able to counter Bubba's camping with Kindred, when someone on hook and only me sit on Gen refuse to be healed. Of course if the first survivor down at 5 Gen, Im alone would not able to finish 5 Gen.

2nd chance is just to buy more time for others to do Gen

I really hate it when this is the only argument people have for this kind of stuff. Yes it is just a game, that isn't the point. People do it for the purpose of pissing you off and harassing you, it's an issue with the person, not the game.

    Kindred and Bond

The lack of being able to tell where your team is is one of the biggest detriments to being a Solo Queuer. Kindred is a must because I need to be able to see what my team is doing when someone is hanging.

Bond comes in handy for a few other reasons. The obvious one being that I know where teammates are for when deciding on gens to work on or if I'm injured (or if they're injured) but it also has some indirect benefits people don't think about like I can tell who might be getting chased (since you can generally tell with their movement what's going on), if they're coming at me (so do I need to move or do something because my teammate is bringing the killer my way), and related but just as important, I can lead the killer AWAY from the person doing a gen because I see them working on the gen with Bond before we get close enough for the killer to decide to go after them instead.

There are a few other information perks you could argue could go here over Bond but personally bang for the buck, I find Bond to be the best of the Solo Queue information perks.

Kindred: So much value in basically every game, it's crazy good.

DS: It's 2022, there isn't a single DBD match where someone doesn't get tunneled.

But that’s just the thing- it’s a small trivial addition to paint a picture for the topic being discussed here. I got the main point across of how Clairvoyance can bring some satisfaction to using it. Those who don’t care for killer BM may appreciate knowing they have that in their back pocket. So a bonus, if you will. That’s why I put it at the end- I just remembered it works in that scenario as well.

But inquiring about two trivial sentences at the end after I wrote a whole paragraph that was on topic doesn’t make sense. You could’ve Dm’ed me. Let’s not derail the thread and move on. Happy gaming.

killers are getting desperate and only tunnel these days; DS and BT is a necessity.

    Hahahaha

Yeah especially when people run into killers like me who are "sweaty" and "try hard" lol The killers that dont give a crap about being nice or making survivors have a good time, screw that!!!!! I can care less about casual players complaining to me about xy & z im super competitive so im not trying to hear none of that, you should see my reply messeges to people lol

If i suspect you dont have ds one of your teammates better have bt bc im getting that person out the game asap!

You posted this just as i posted the above so its good to see we're all on the same page here! lol Can you blame us for being desperate at times though? Look at the game! lol Bad maps, boons, body blocks, bt's, its no wonder why more people are playing this way (tunneling, slugging and camping hardcore) look at how disadvantage this game is for killer. They/we dont care about how pleasant the survivor experience is or not, we dont care about what people think so long as we win or at least draw and survivor loses!

    Boon coh

    Bt

Gives everyone the ability to heal regardless of their loadouts and a save buffer for most situations.

I play mostly Solo Survivor and I usually bring DS/Slippery Meat/Circle Of Healing or Self Care/Dead Hard.

I would recommend switching Slippery Meat with Kindred, though.

Kindred, BT, DS, and Iron Will are my go to currently.

I hadn't played with DS in a long long time, but the tunneling lately is just horrendous.

My favorite thing about kindred is being on hook and seeing people still being oblivious to everything going on.

Like half the reason I took the perk was so that you could get free information, use it plz.

survivors getting desperate for the escape and running DH these days.

Why is it looked down upon to try your best to win in a game? It's like if I purposefully handicapped myself against people in soccer, who does that?

I play a lot of solo queue and run literally none of these perks.

Borrowed Time / Prove Thyself / We're Gonna Live Forever / Circle of Healing.

Personally I think either of Detective's Hunch or Small Game. I don't like relying on others to find hexes or remove noed, and I can't stand the people who call noed OP because they just can't be bothered dealing with it.

Dh and iw is a strong combo. Can't go wrong with that imo.

It seems like a selfish combo but staying alive doesn't hurt team play if you are doing everything else right.

BT and Kindred if you really want to play entirely with solo queue in mind. But who wants to run Kindred all the time when you have meta perks like DS etc? BT is great no matter what as it ensures you always get the safe save and it can really help in difficult situations

No love for Spine Chill in this thread? I personally run it every game. Not only does it counter all stealth Killers and perks, it's even great in chases to tell if the Killer is mind-gaming when you can't see them. Not to mention it's strong on indoor maps since it makes up for all the walls blocking line-of-sight.

The answer is DS and BT

I think they should make DS, BT and Unreakable base kit for survivors. Survivors shouldnt be forced to waste perk slots just because they might play against tryhard tunneler & camper killers.

  • Marc_123
    Marc_123 Member Posts: 3,615

Kindred and Self Care - yes i know, but in SoloQ you often don´t have a teammate ready to heal you. Self Care saved me a lot of times.

  • Ryuhi
    Ryuhi Member Posts: 3,817

Interesting, since I use none of those 3 and still get to iri 1 regularly.

They're strong perks, but not even remotely necessary. Maybe I'm just good at ruining killers' pressure when they camp and tunnel unless they hard commit to it, which neither of those perks would beat (only delay a little) anyway.

When I make a build, I go usually with having some info (bond, kindred, aftercare), some kind of exhaustion, or something to help in chase a bit, some kind of healing, I run pharmacy alot because I have to open every chest I see, and last one being up to you really, I like running something to help my team a bit, like prove thyself or bt. Also medkits are busted with certain combinations of addons and perks, basically giving you 5th perk

  • AsherFrost

Kindred and a self heal perk (is, sh, CoH)
