Matchmaking is a bit wonky at the moment. Sorry that keeps happening to you.

At least your not like me having bronzes and ashes who brings killers towards you against eris

I get nothing but iri red survivors when I'm playing killer and I kinda feel the same. These survivors will flip those exit gates open in a second if I let them.
I CAN beat them, but maybe I wanna smell the roses. Y'know?

Which map has roses?

Here's what is happening.
- Killers are killing at a greater than 2k average. That means the average MMR is increasing for killer. Meanwhile the opposite is happening to survivor. The average MMR of survivor is decreasing.
- There are more survivor players than killer players. This is largely due to the party aspect of DBD and is what allows DBD to be successful. Because there are more survivors the game then increases the distance when it doesn't find anyone within a relatively close MMR.
So let's put this into practice. In reality you have 4 survivors and 1 killer who are at a similar MMR. However, due to the fact that their MMR is much lower (because survivors have a greater than 50 percent chance of losing) They're not matched together. Instead they may be matched with an individual at mid-MMR because again survivors MMR is skewed downwards. That killer through camping and tunneling manages a 2k with 3 or 4 hooks and their MMR does not decrease. The 2 survivors who died have their MMR decrease despite it being a tied game for their group.
Now what happens to the killer that was high MMR, who do they get paired with? The answer is that their match is completely random. They may get a good group or a bad group, for high MMR killers, MMR may as well not exist.

The Backwater Swamps has a pale rose.

Grade isn't linked with MMR.

That's an understatement.

Maybe it should though why should killers who don't have much kit or are just starting out have to face 1000+ hour players just because the mmr favors speed.

I'm sure Trickster has one in his purse too.

Grades should be hidden, then people would not have frustrations like this.

I'm constantly playing at low MMR (I am fairly sure because I lose most of my survivor games, in recent times I've survived less than 15% of my matches) so I get the worst killers the game has to offer. I played against a Bronze IV killer yesterday who was phenomenally bad, along with three teammates who were all Iri 1 - and managed to be even worse at the game than the killer, so it wasn't a big deal for the killer to get a 4k.
Grades and emblems have nothing to do with being good at the game. They should be replaced on the scoreboard screen, it would be more useful to show survivor portraits in their place. At this point I slowly suspect someone at BHVR loves to confuse players and enjoys all these complaints.

Is it really that hard to understand that grades arent related to matchmaking and skill?

Time played definitely relates to skill. It's not the only factor, but there is no MMR decay.
So you could step away for 4 months and come straight back into people who have played 8 hours a day for the entire duration of your absence.

Honestly from my prespective it is if I can 99% pick out a grade and its accurate then yea the grading is skill like "is it that hard to understand" is rude and sounds arrogant I have 1000 hours I still dont know how the matching works k its ranking system so thats under the assumption that you get matched with your rank or a bit above how else would you yourself get ranked up if you get all reds breaking you like sorry grades and skill are related

It's funny to me. One kill from a previous match is enough for me to be placed into a death squad SWF match.

I 100% agree I had no idea thats how the mmr works its all kinda messed up and doesnt make it that fun to play when there are the most toxic survivors or really good and dominate/ gen rush

But like others said grades have NOTHING to do with match making. Sadly.....all grades show is how much of life anyone has....average players that play a average amount of time won't be that high of a grade but could be the best player in the world while a Red Grade survivor could be the worst but plays alot

Welp now's the best time to play if you want to see all the grades that have no correlation with MMR at Ash.

True however like I said before the grades and emblems do at least show that they spent more time on the game and has more kit to work with. And unless they swap it out to have your devotion level shown instead of the rank that's all we can go off of.

Everyone is reset, so you are getting people at the same grade as you for next couple of days.

Being the 13th, I find it hard to believe you're running into Iri and Gold grades.

Its just nothing to do with it at all. Easy example how grades work: Player A and Player B are both equally skilled. Player A played 10h and player B 20h. So Player B is red grade, player A is silver grade. Nothing to do with skill. Thats how grades work up to 90%. The rest 10% just relate to how fast you get into those grades, depending on skill or gamestyle. Skill in this case is just negligible.
With 1000h you should at least know how matchmaking works in general.

I honestly dont pay attention
