Things I think are bad choices for DBD
1.Springtrap (super lame)
2.Jack Torrence (lame)
3.Leslie Vernon (extra lame)
4.Patrick Bateman (too human)
5.Psycho would be cool
6.Hatchet (please don't)
7.Predator (nope)
8. Leprechaun (bruh) Worst than Chucky just cringey the first 3 movies we're good but nah
I mean Bhrv does what it want's this is just my opinion
Comments
-
I only recognize Psycho, Predator, and Leprechaun
1 -
I want the Leprechaun, specifically from Leprechaun 5: In the Hood.
6 -
I specifically want him from Leprechaun 3, and I want his mori to be what he does to the woman who wishes to be hot.
1 -
If they put Springtrap in DBD I might quit, no joke.
But yeah, we also don't need more basic human killers.
3 -
I am used to people bashing on Springtrap which is fine since everyone has an opinion, though I would love to see him ingame since Art and Music department would do a phenomenal job with him.
However, being rude to my boi Leprechaun.......you have gone too far.
9 -
Can someone explain to me what is so bad about Springtrap? Granted, I only ever played one of his games but it is a legit horror game. I think the lore fits just fine with DBD.
What exactly is the issue?
8 -
Well, as far as video games go Silent Hill beat Resident Evil to the punch on that one.
4 -
I only know Springtrap and Predator. I've heard of leprechaun but not for good reasons.
0 -
Hey my man Leslie isn't that lame. The movie was just great but sure as a slasher killer he is as basic as it get but that is kinda the point I think. Maybe a trapper skin in his style would be better
2 -
The theme of DBD is 'old school slasher flick' villains.
I think they've veered off of that and now describe it as the 'horror hall-of-fame', where every major horror franchise has a place. In that kind of reading, FNAF can be argued for, since regardless of people's opinion, it is an extremely high-profile franchise.
7 -
FNAF is a pure jumpscare generator with zero substantive psychological horror elements. I resent it like I resent movies that lean only on jumpscares for their "horror". And though Springtrap is the least so, all the killers therein are cartoonish and virtually impossible to take seriously on their own merit.
Given the primary demographic for DBD are adolescents, and many of them were fans of FNAF when they were kids, it's understandable they they view the games and its characters through a nostalgic lens, and as better and deeper than they actually were. Kind of like gen X'ers and Star Wars (let's see how many people I can piss off, lol).
DBD bringing in FNAF would be like the Simpsons/Family Guy crossover, or putting Goosebumps in a compilation of the masters of horror. Selling off the last vestiges of your dignity in the name of broadening your audience.
JMHO.
2 -
Yeah the most people might see it through some nostalgic lenses but is that something bad? I heard more then one time since I play dbd that many people were down for Scooby-Doo skin for the original 4 survivors and that would be kinda strange to but on the other hand really awesome cause bhvr can make it in there own art style and then they lose that comic feeling that makes them not scary same goes for springtrap. A rotting corps trapt in an animatronic in dbds style sounds great in my book
5 -
Nostalgia can be bad in that it makes you see something as good when it isn't. And it's not (IMO).
Another reason I personally don't want to see it is that the list of better options is really, really long.
But hey, these things are subjective. If someone sees FNAF as truly scary, more power to them. I can't wrap my brain around it, but everyone is entitled to like what they like. But to me it would be completely out of place in DBD.
If BHVR wants to make a DBD Jr., Springtrap and the Scooby Doo crew, that would be great for some nostalgic kicks.
1 -
Who do you want to be added to the game then?
1 -
Sure in the end it is all subjective for me the Scooby-Doo crew as skins and springtrap would work since I believe bhvr would give them a nice mature feeling but I totally get why other don't see it that way.
It's like trickster you often see people say he shouldn't be in Dbd cause he isnt scary and just a Popstar they would beat up in an alley and I think normal people that just snapped and like to kill are even more scary then some monsters
3 -
Stranger Things is still immensely popular.
The issue is COVID delayed production.
1 -
Not directed a me, but I'll take a shot at some I would rather see:
Not likely for legal reasons, but have to get it out of the way because he is THE remaining killer that should be in the game - Jason Voorhees
The Xenomorph (Alien)
Pennywise
Candyman
The Thing
Dracula (or similar vampire variant)
Kayoko (Ju-on, but probably not now as three J-Horror ghost-type killers will be enough)
A Western mythology demon
Valak (The Nun, or another from the Conjuring tree)
Pumpkinhead (anyone remember that?)
The Fly or some manner of insect/humanoid hybrid
If we making a non-addition wish list, a proper overhaul of Ghostface to bring him in line with the movies (Billy/Stu), along with survivors. And an overhaul of Myers to make him into what he should be (not a low tier-killer).

I think Springtrap is an extremely smart choice for behaviour. I'd be genuinely shocked if he wasn't added to the game. Here's why:
- Bring in a bunch of new players
- A bunch of the 20+ generation were fans of the series when it was originally released
- Relevant right now
- Lots of characters for easy legendary skin money
- A movie is being made
No matter what people think, this series will become iconic on the same level as Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Especially when the film comes out, it'll potentially get as big as other horror icons.
For the 6th year anniversary this is my pick for the new chapter. I only see F13 and Alien as big enough to be the 6th year chapter, if not FNAF.
5 -
Agree on some of that list.
Chucky would be awesome. The game needs Chucky. ######### anyone who disagrees.
I enjoyed Hatchet and Hatchet II as a kid, but they're admittedly mediocre. I'm not opposed to having Victor as a killer, though, and Leslie Vernon would be cool, too. That said, if they're expanding to B-movie slashers, I'd rather see Chromeskull or Art the Clown than either of the aforementioned.
Predator, Shining, Leprechaun, and American Psycho don't feel very DBD; I agree on that. Springtrap doesn't feel right at all and is my least favorite on that list.
Dracula and Pennywise are must-haves for the game eventually.
I'm actually reading Who Goes There? (the novel that The Thing was based on) right now. It'd only work if the killer could duplicate one of the survivors somehow, which would have to be thought out a good deal, but it'd make for some genuinely scary games if they managed it.
2 -
Yeah, the mechanics of the Thing would take a lot of creative thought to make work in game; not sure it could be done. The defining characteristic would have to involve mimicking other survivors, but how to do that without making it OP would be a trick.
Only allow you to mimic a survivor not currently in the match?
Not show the red stain until you are within a certain radius?
Only be able to mimic for short periods?
Lots of possibilities, not sure how many are feasible.
0 -
You're probably right. He wouldn't have an ability probably something along the sides to ghostface I guess he could be a ghostface skin
I cannot answer that
Then you know true horror. I don't know who chrome skull is but he looks like Trapper with short range Art the terrifier it's not for me but I can see the appeal to the character somewhat.

Iconic as Resident Evil and Silent Hill are you absolutely kidding me.Fnaf only has a strong fanbase for those people who like him everyone else who isn't 12 hates him abhorrently hates like some people look at him and say ok now I know horror is dead
Iconic as Resident Evil and Silent Hill tho.
0 -
Well times are changing new stuff will become iconic to the same degree as stuff that is iconic to us whether we like it or not and that's okey new generations have a right to there own horror icons with out us degrading them because we think what we like is superior
2 -
You're absolutely right but there's tons of modern horror games that's better than Fnaf Outlast is the perfect example of that
You guy's can't fool me you are kids and that is a kids game 18 or 19 but you're still a kid but most of you are younger than that
But you make really good arguments somehow
0 -
I just looked at Bloody Disgustings top 25 modern horror 2000 to 2021 basically
Fnaf is not there
Soma is there
Bloodborne is there and Outlast,Evil With in etc.
Bioshock actually needs to be there but it probably a typo.
0 -
Oh and Until Dawn is there
@AnneBonny Soma mention
0 -
Some of these I agree with, I think any killer that's basically just "some guy" would need a lot of work to make interesting. Mr Shining may be intimidating with his axe, but in DBD he'd be bottom of the barrel comparatively.
Nothing wrong with FNaF, though. Like it or not, it's an iconic and influential juggernaut of video game horror, by all definitions it absolutely would fit within DBD.
2 -
Is Alien: Isolation on the list?
1 -
Yes it is
0 -
GO AND WATCH DONNIE DARKO. Frank is the Fnaf slayer
0 -
Whoever made that list has good taste
1 -
...What does that have to do with anything...?
2 -
agreed there's other games on there that's obscure but no Fnaf
0 -
It's a better alternate to Fnaf
I don't know somebody says Fnaf has something to do with furries and stuff and if you like animal people it's a better pick and deeper.
0 -
That's to be expected. FNaF isn't a horror game
0 -
Here's the list you can read it for yourself
0 -
There are plenty of better alternatives to FNaF, that's not my point. My point is that FNaF would fit within DBD and therefore is a legitimate pick for a license.
For the record, I don't like FNaF either, but it's obviously something that could make it into DBD. It's iconic, it's influential, it doesn't break any of BHVR's rules for licenses that I know of, and a lot of people would really like it. Besides, I've never bought the arguments that FNaF's gameplay is boring and so therefore it'd be a bad license for DBD either, because... you wouldn't be playing FNaF? You'd be playing DBD? BHVR would give Springtrap or whoever new mechanics, like Pyramid Head and Nemesis.
3 -
Bloodborne chapter confirmed?
1 -
I know that's what I'm trying to tell them when is it so rare you see almost half if not the whole community say no to a character
That only happened with Chucky
0 -
1.Springtrap - I’ve never played Five Nights at Freddy’s so have no opinion on it either way. It is a really popular franchise though so I’m sure there would be a lot of people excited for it kind if like Silent Hill and Resident Evil has its fans, (I also never played those but I do like Pyramid Head and Nemesis in DbD, I think they’re both fun to play.)
2.Jack Torrence - Yeah Jack wouldn’t be the best killer, but I’d love to see The Overlook Hotel and its hedge maze as a location!
3.Leslie Vernon - This movie is seriously hilarious. 😄 He’d be a terrible killer in DbD but if you haven’t seen this movie it’s great, check it out!
4.Patrick Bateman - Again, not an exciting killer for DbD. Also a really, really terrible movie. (I tried reading the book at one point as well and it was hot garbage too, I don’t get the love for American Psycho.)
5.Psycho - Another one that mechanically I have no idea what they’d do to make Norman Bates fun to play, but the Bate’s Motel would be an iconic map
6.Hatchet - Who is Hatchet? Never heard of this one and Google just comes up with “Kai the Hatchet killer” which doesn’t sound like it’s related
7.Predator - As much as I love the movie Predator and love the original game Aliens vs Predator, Predator might be a bad fit for DbD simply because his weaponry is too powerful. I could though maybe see a Predator who intentionally “goes primitive” to challenge itself more when it hunts its prey, discarding or toning down its blasters and focussing more on its cloaking and hand to hand attacks. So with a little work it could be a fun killer.
8. Leprechaun - Wow this was a terrible movie and a dumb killer.
2 -
soma good woo
1 -
1. Silent Hill ,Re classic licenses not really a hard choice.Fnaf is probably iconic to memes
2.That would be a cool as map.
7.Nah then it wouldn't feel like the Predator only wraith with electronic cloak then it rains on some maps so it really make sense.
All of Pyramid Head and Nemesis power's make sense. The only powers they gave Pyramid Head was POTD and Rights of Judgement. They added cages in a mechanically way that makes sense we don't know how he puts people in cages but he does, but lorewise it says Pyramid Head gets all of his power from Silent Hill so he came in with his own abilities.
0 -
Yes, exactly. They pulled from his existing lore to give him a power that's more mechanically interesting than doing literally what he does in his games.
They would presumably do the same for Springtrap. They'd adapt him. There's no way for them to force you to play FNaF whenever someone picks Springtrap, after all, so the gameplay of that franchise is irrelevant.
2 -
🤣🤣 I just thought you would be happy to see others recognize a game you like as one of the best.
1 -
Face it Fnaf is not a good pick for DBD.They can make a power for the Giant Mario bullet but does he belong in the game ? No no he does not.
I'm a horror veteran and that isn't a character that needs to be in the game, sorry it's jmo.
0 -
But... why?
It hits all of the requirements. It's horror, it's iconic, it's influential, it doesn't break the rules by being exclusively characters that are minors or hard sci fi in genre, and the visuals of the game don't clash with DBD's aesthetics. What makes it not a good pick?
3 -
They'll probably be Challenges to force me to play as him
0 -
I only know Springtrap, Jack Torrence, Psycho, Predator, and Leprechaun.
Springtrap wouldn't fit into this game. Jack is just a normal dude so he wouldn't really fit, either. I don't know much about Psycho, so no opinion there. Predator I'm unsure about. And Leprechaun is a big no since it's more of a cringey horror comedy than true horror.
3 -
Because it's silly, it's cartoonish. His lore isn't tragic ,it's quite awful and doesn't make sense.
Other people have given more a better reasons most talk about the political standpoint.
This is also more for about Fnaf taking the spot of a really good license that could get missed. There not going to keep adding licenses they've already stated that and the great classic's should be first pick.
0 -
Why do you think Springtrap wouldn't fit ?
