PC Killer Mains, Be Honest…

Do any of you tunnel console players out the game when you need to shift the momentum in your favor? No judgement will be passed.

Ever since the reset on the 13th, I’ve noticed a blatant pattern of killers with Lethal Pursuit tending to go after me first, if I’m the only console player. Then they usually tunnel me out. Then there are killers who don’t run LP, but they will go after me if we are in a group- even though I’m farthest away (no, not running into a dead zone) and they initially were targeting someone else. I’m also noticing killers breaking chase with PC survivors, and returning to the area they last saw me in, or believe I may be currently in. I just recently starting to observe this behavior in the past week, and within the last 24 hours it’s been pretty flagrant. It has got to the point where I don’t even let my teammates heal me, so that I can either immediately hide or run away from the area- in fear the killer will return. And sure enough, more than ever- they’ve been returning and looking for me. Very frustrating.

Any survivor mains who happen to come up on this thread, please do not chastise any killers who can attest to this. By them coming forward, it at least gives us confirmation that it’s hunting season on console players, and that we need to adjust accordingly when we are the only console in the lobby. Then again, I could just be paranoid or on a really bad streak of no luck…

It is a little paranoid. It might not be some sort of console bias. If there’s negative intent, it may just be trying to remove the weak link in a trial.

Ha ha ha... Yeah, I do that as a Playstation Killah. Let's be real, console gamers are usually just a touch worse than people who take gaming so seriously that they unironically have a PC for it.

Sometimes I lowkey pay for it as the console survivors are more competent than the PC ones. Or, I guess the others could have been Xbox? But even then, I feel Playstation players are more casual than Xbox ones (pun intended).

I will say that I never run Lethal Pursuer to do it and can barely tell their Silhouettes apart from that distance regardless. And half the time it is just a coincidence to begin with as I rarely pay attention to platform. I mostly get survivors from a different platform to begin with, so sometimes that PSN gamer catches my eye.

I just play the game normally, if Im playing with the sole goal of winning Ill find out the weak link and go for them, but of course that all depends on what situation Im in

Doesnt matter what platform theyre on

Why would I care who’s on console?

    No I've never done this.

As a survivor I once tunneled a Switch killer out of the match, tho

I don't do that. 90% of the time if you're the last person hooked and I find you I slug and l leave you for your team to pick up until I've hooked someone else. The other 10% of the time you're continuously trying to go for flashlight saves and deny me BBQ stacks (or you're a teabagger whose looping skills weren't as good as my chasing skills).

I'm really soft as a killer but if you deny me my BBQ stacks I will sacrifice you and salt the earth under you. Don't mess with the BBQ.

Not a killer main but I couldn’t care less what platform the weak link is on.

I am not a killer "main", but I play a lot of killer.

TBH honest, there is very little to choose from between PC and console survs, and certainly not enough to alter my gameplay to target one over the other.

Viewing console players as being the weak link off the bat is flawed as hell, and just your run of the mill PC master race elitism.

In game, I'm an opportunist most of the time, I chase whoever makes the most sense in that moment. Their platform is not something I even think about in game.

Prior to the game I might look at their icons, but that is just me trying to weigh the odds I am facing a SWF, nothing beyond that.

Not specifically console players, but if I need a kill to secure victory and I come across 2 or 3 people and one is dead on hook, I will definitely prioritize getting the kill if it can be done in reasonable time.

Likewise. I don't typically remember who is what once the game starts.

Generally, I'd go for switch players if I can, they tend to be weaker.

Hard to be strong when you're playing on a potato.

(I own a Switch and love it, but would never use it for DBD)

I've noticed that Switch killers will tunnel Switch survivors.

I dunno how successful that tactic is, really. Survivors are much less handicapped by the Switch than killers are. I've had Switch killers who threw the match because they kept tunneling me or my friend, and despite the fact we were on the Switch we're not complete potatoes and 90% of the killer's swings were still whiffs because, again, killers have more performance issues.

This is DBD the game that makes players give other players a miserable time.

Of course their PC players that target nothing but console players.

  • OldHunterLight
    OldHunterLight Member Posts: 3,001

Nah, I don't go for anyone in particular, I go for the first one I see and wing it from there.

Also I barely remember who was who during the match, like in the lobby you can have your name cosmetics and whatever, but if you are playing Steve then you are just a Steve, Idc from which platform you are.

Unless you are a bunny feng, instead of calling you feng, you are a bunny feng.

Console players using a controller are objectively worse at looping than that of PC players using a mouse. they turn so slow!

I don't go out of my way to remember and tunnel a console player, but the moment I realize they're taking long turns and have very slow 360's, I confirm my commitment to the chase.

This is a fun read and always perfectly on the edge between honest to god rand and ludicrous blathering. I enjoyed the read a lot, but I con offer no insight, nor consolation.

I wouldn't say "tunnel", but Ill definitely favor chasing a console over a PC if I need to gain momentum. No offense to console players, I used to play console before I built my PC, but the weak link(s) on any solo queue team will be the console players 99% of the time.

I really doubt anyone does this since console/epic games looks the same. Either way if I see someone afk on LP I'm getting free early hook.

Prior to CoH there was far less tunnelling I believe, given that CoH completely ruins the Hit & Run method and essentially you have to take someone down once you've started chase or you've completely wasted your time.

Now that doesn't necessarily mean you have to go for that same person immediately thereafter, but with the increased pressure on the killer getting it down to a 3-1 ASAP is pretty much the only way to have a chance at more than a 2k. So if you're interested in anything more than a draw, tunnelling (and to a lesser degree camping) is pretty much the requirement, given that the Devs have clearly indicated via MMR that the only thing that counts for killers is kills.

No, i am not looking platforms. So i don't know they were console or pc player. But i am going after weak-line when i need pressure on survivors.

But i will not lie, console players are weak-line 90% of the time. Reason is probably pc players has better system.

Platform of choice only matters for killer. Survivors don't have to flick their cameras, looping is looping.

Well I don't have a clue how to tell if someone is from console or pc.

As killer main I do tend to pursue the obvious easy down. I mean if I come back to an unhooking and one goes to a safe tile and the other runs into a deadzone I'm going for the easy one. I don't really usually chase a specific player

If I need to tunnel I just tunnel the survivor who's closest to being dead

That's just the easiest way to go about it I think

I've seen less of the whole PC/Console elitisim thing lately, not sure if everyone else is the same but yeah

The extent of whether I know someone is console or not is looking at the lobby and seeing the globe symbol. By the time I'm at the loading screen I don't know who's who.

Though let's be honest, after a chase or two you can usually tell.

I dodge the lobby whenever i see 2+ consoles because they aren't able to drop me any salt on my profile, and because i only play to collect SALT, i feel its a waste of time going against them.

    Sigh.

Notice how everyone here is actually contributing to the thread? What’s the point of posting a passive aggressive insult, along with stating you don’t have anything to say? Please, take your negative vibes somewhere else- we deal with enough toxicity in game.

To everyone else who has posted or will continue to give their accounts, thank you for your feedback.

Even when I sometimes feel like killers target me specifically, I wouldnt even dream of it could be because of platform I play on.

Its just being unlucky I guess. Not to mention that gap between pc and console survivors is not that big as some people believe it is for whatever reason

I don't. If i tunnel i tunnel for a good reason. Like being super toxic towards me or another survivor or hacking or if im just losing badly.

Dont care if you are console or PC i'll give you all the same treatment.

Whoever gets found first gets tunneled out of the game, that's 2022 DBD for you. Haven't noticed Killers targeting anyone in particular myself but I haven't been keeping score. I personally just follow the survivor rulebook, no need to add more toxicity to this game.

After an unhook it can be in general a good idea to get out of there. Healing under the hook is like an invitation for tunneling.

  • Bartlaus

Why should players on other platforms get different treatment? Aren't we all playing the same game?

Some people think most console players are at a disadvantage due to MnK, so they will be easier to take out. There have been a few comments in here alluding to that. I’ll be honest, I’m kind of leaning in that direction. Take the house of pain for instance, the not so good one with the window closed at the top of the stairwell leading towards the back of the house. When you get to the top of the stairwell, there is an open window on the right, however there is a couch/chair(?) a few feet in front of it. PC players can fast vault that with ease while in chase, but console players have to be a little bit more precise with analog sticks. Someone above said console players tend to 360 slower than PC players, which I imagine to be easier to track. And there are other little things too that add up.

I recognize however they’re not the end all be all factors, and there are plenty of godlike console players that can run circles with the best of PC’s elite.

It was meant as a lighthearted, and somewhat comedic, jest. Sorry that you took it so harshly, but I feel that your comment was way more negatively vibed then mine. I still got nothing else to add to your, so I will leave this thread now, there are enough others.
