Try giving the killer a chance to leave the hook before you unhook and cry camper
Hit up a few games this afternoon and for a while now I've been seeing a trend to games as killer.
Survivor play is bold these days, the meta favours 1v1 chase extension and everybody runs basically the same thing. Throw in a COH to force comitment to chases and you can dead hard your way around the map.
Now there is nothing inherently wrong with this, sadly its not my preferred game but its what the game is lately.
This gameplay has lead to seriously bold survivors though, its game after game of I turn around to walk away from the hook, I get 3 steps and boom someone is already unhooking.
What hapens then 1 or even 2 go down and they go on (or back on) a hook. I go check the nearest gen and what do I see a guy running toward a hook just off to my left, again its probably still in my terror radius.
So round and round we go, game after game and at the end of almost every one of them there is a salty sore loser screaming camper at me and wishing various dieases and death upon me and my loved ones.
I don't see an epidemic of camping as people like to bemoan, in fact its quite the opposite, I see excessively bold and foolish survivor play reinforced by a rather reptitive 1v1 chase extending meta.
Whom all like to blame camping and tunneling as some kind of panacea for their own poor decision making, foolishness, overconfidence or just plain stupidity.

Nah, why do that when I can just get my squad and I to call you names for not letting us reset? Leave us alone if you can't handle the truth, camper.

Wow bro stop camping, you're supposed to go to the other side of the map even if you see all 3 survivors at the hook.

After hooking you are required to go across the map and face a wall.
Those are the rules, I didn't make'em.

I'm aware of the rules!

This guy doesn't know how to use the three seashells!

lol

And why are you looking at the guy running towards the hook? Ignore him, as it reads in the rulebook, just do something else, let them unhook, reset, maybe sabotage the hook, bless a totem, teabag, and get back to their gens. Then you can chase them again.
Man... Killers these days...

yep.
my view on it is "it's not camping if the whole swf is running straight at the hook".
I also think facecamping is morally ok for a couple of seconds to secure a second hook state if the team leaves someone until the last second before hitting stage 2.

No. Don't do this. Continue to crowd the hook and continue unhooking in my face. I love nothing more as a Killer than not having to go look for survivors, since they literally follow me carrying the downed survivor. I love it. Please don't stop.

You know what I agree. I’m tired of chasing survivors I’d rather they just come to me. If I’m going to get called camper and tunneler after every game no matter what I do I might as well legitimise those accusations.
Its like the grumpy lady down the street who yells at me about picking up my dogs poop. I always clean up after my dog but she yells at me anyway. So now if the dog poops on her lawn I leave it so her efforts aren’t wasted and her complaint legitimate. Everybody wins.
I hate to see wasted effort.

It’s also just as legit to stand there and stare at someone for five gens though. It’s not particularly interactive or interesting but it’s not the great moral dilemma people make it out to be.
It’s not the end of the world, the problem isn’t camping it’s all the butt hurt take this ######### to seriously bad gamers who tantrum about it that are the problem.
When I get face camped at first hook I just switch off for a bit it’s no big deal. I say first hook and not 5 gens because if you aren’t popping 2-3 gens in the first chase then your team is already dropping the ball.

Survivors who unhook before I even halfway turn away from the hook to go somewhere else, like the gen that just exploded, are a true blessing. They could have just waited 10 more seconds until I'm out of earshot, but no, I turn my back and already hear the footsteps going for the unhook. Most the time without BT too. I love survivors who make my life easier. Then it's off the hook, and back onto the same scourge hook for the teammate. I don't know why survivors have such an urgency to save, you can let your teammate hang there for a comfortable 30 seconds or so just before they hit stage 2 and continue working on generators, but that idea hasn't fully manifested itself in the brains of these dive bombers. Also, to the person who thinks crouching behind the killer while I hook is a 200 IQ play, it isn't. I can literally hear you breathing behind me.

Oh, yeah, no, ditto.
Facecamping's just boring for both sides, so I don't do it
that's all I was trying to say.

I didn’t want to imply you were whining.
Yeah I try not to as well but I often crutch out on a good tunnel camp if warranted and it often is because I ain’t that great.

You could always just....camp and tunnel and not care what the other side thinks? It's supposed to be a game about murdering people in the name of a dark god, it's not exactly the nicest setting.

Oh don't get me wrong I don't care what the otherside thinks of camping and tunneling. I'm fine with it on either side.
Its not the most interactive play though so I find it only really makes sense to do it if you have a build made around it like basement bubba or trapper, or when you aren't getting value from chases and have to switch it up.
Nothing wrong with securing a kill though at anytime.
The meaner the killer the better the game, I want a survival horror experience not a safe game of loopy chase and that's on both sides.

Well I do it the harsh way. I love me some pyramid head and he is literally made to take 2 hook states from someone instead of just 1. You get them tormented, toss them on the hook, and then make sure to hit BT as they come off it. Then if they run to a locker for DS they bleed out in the locker and can be sent off instead of wasting your time.
Same idea with Mori's, when I get a mori in there I usually tunnel people off 2nd hooks, also hitting BT in the process so they cannot DS me.
Nemesis / Rancor / No way out is the ultimate tunnel build for sure. You can literally spend all 5 gens camping/tunneling someone and then get another 2x rancor kills at the end. Basement Bubba isn't even the optimal camping build.

I don't care what they think, but I know it's very likely unfun for them and I don't enjoy it.

Facecamping is intense for killers side, it's always a exciting to fight against three survivors who try to unhook!

O.k, well, I find it boring, at least.

To be fair they can still use borrow time, dead hard to lead you into a chase situation even if you're close, but yea i found alot of survs just think you play dirty without ever having killers perspective.

It can be, some of the best games I've had as killer and as survivor have been with basement builds, the thrill of trying to get out of there especially against a LF built for it is terrifying. Super fun.

Yeah its legit play but if someone goes for the BT body block and then goes down again 2 seconds later they can't really piss and moan about it.
Its not the gameplay that gets me its the constant need people have to piss and moan about camping and tunneling when 9/10 its of their own making.
