Salty players
Why are people so salty playing this game? People treat this game like it's their life and not a video game. I get it can be frustrating at times but every video game out there can be frustrating if not more. But I've never seen so many people complain after a match like they do with DBD. If you have a bad match where you get tunneled, camped, gen rushed, etc... yeah it sucks but just load into the next game and move on. There's literally no point at the foul messages afterwards. 🙄

More or less, I'm thinking game is designed to be frustrating.
Since only thing it matters is hit and miss and there won't be a skill factor like many action games/shooter games, just playing game is already frustrating as is (palette vault blah blah dead hard blah blah hitbox blah blah), combine it with BM of other side and there goes the super toxicity.

It all has to do with competence needs not being fulfilled.

I got the best salt yesterday. Never have i gotten this before. I was trying to do a tome task which requires me to put 5 survivors in the basement while using agitation in 1 match 5 times.
Ok i see a survivor i down a survivor, mind you i was also playing huntress not a basement bubba. I take her to the basement. I leave to chase another one. No one goes to save her she goes to second hook. I don't chase her anymore in the match.
It was rough match they gen rushed. I have timer nowdays when i play and it took 5 minutes for the gens to finish so i had 0 chance of winning or doing my tome task. Funny thing is the Nancy who was in the basement first and went to second hook didnt leave the match...she was staying and cleansing bones though i didnt have NOED. So i killed her.
After the match the Nancy who i took to the basement called me a camper and was raging that i took her to the basement...i never camped i didnt tunnel her..and yes i took her to the basement.
Killers !! survivors have new rule for us. We cannot take them to the basement anymore! It's against the rulebook 2022.

People reach a breaking point where the frustration needs to be expressed. If you added to it at that point, well lucky you...you get some salt.
Just load into the next game and move on if the messages bother you. Take your own advice.

If my Survivor queues were less than 10 minutes, I would be less salty.
There's only so many facecamping Bubba's followed by Ruin, Undying, Pain Resonance, Dead Man's Switch using Blights I can take.

You are sending people messages for playing a certain way?
There is a difference between playing a game and telling someone to off themselves or whatever.

Why are people still using hexes? They're so bad. And people honestly believe they're still meta.
0 -
Yeah to say gg and then I move on.
Unless they were doing something toxic like letting me bleed-out, facecamping at 5 gens or something, in which case I ask the hard question.
Why :(

High mobility Killers get a lot of mileage out of them.
Much easier to defend Hexes when you down people fast and can fly over to them at a moments notice.

Oh ok then. Op was talking about salty messages (foul language) so I thought you were referring to that.

I disagree. Unless that's at the forefront of your thinking throughout the match, you're gonna slip up and the hex will go down anyway. It's not good just to think about defending your hex either, because then you're not concentrating on the chase or other things going on. You can win games off of camping your hex, but you'll lose far more doing that.

If Ruin stays up for a over a minute and twenty seconds, that's a W.

Eh, I don't think hex defense is a viable strat in any scenario, really. It all comes down to the rng and hoping for the best. And if you run undying.
I could be running spirit with MD ring and the amulet, and even with that insane mobility I am still not going to go too far out of my way to defend bones. You're losing any time you gain. I will only defend a hex if I am right there when the surv goes for it.
And I recently lost a game where Ruin stayed up the whole match (mostly because 3 of the 4 survs were using green tool boxes with the yellow add ons/BNP, and the buffed built to last). Ruin can be overcome.
0 -
Yeah, it can.
They also ran Commodious with Socket Swivel + BNP and Built to Last. That's not really a normal scenario.

Just gather up and do one gen so it will be finished in 30 seconds.
0 -
It's actually 36 seconds iirc with all 4 Survivors
0 -
Not even then. Survivors CAN do gens while Ruin is up.
0 -
Yes. They can.
You can also stop them.
0 -
Not too far I guess.

unfortunately people cant determine games from real life, like i genuinely believe people who think your a bad person irl because you did something in a game have mental illness and should probably get off video games and the internet as a whole

How are you gonna do that? Be everywhere at once? The gens are supposed to progress, no matter how slowly. If the gens are actually at a standstill and are regressing, that is absolutely the survivors' fault.
0 -
I have no idea what your argument is.
I'm saying Ruin is still very useful, especially with Undying.
0 -
Why are the hexes still up? Survivors can't figure out how to destroy them? Protecting the hexes will absolutely not work a majority of the time. Ruin can be useful, but it's a pseudo one-time perk like Corrupt because usually survivors break it very quickly. Even if it did stay up, you're not getting much out of it unless you're pushing all survivors off their gens all the time.

I never really had much of an issue getting value from Ruin when I played.
