The killer perk I dislike
Corrupt I don't like it because it brings nothing to the table it blocks gens at the start of the match oh sweet what else oh nothing it a bit of a waste plus I find it's in the pool with DS and DH where it's over used to people expect it and know what to do. Plus once they realize it's active they know to run to the unblocked gens and repair because no killer goes to them.

It stops people from spawning in and literally starting gens within 2 seconds. That's why I use it. The survivors are forced to move around at the start of the game and are more likely to run into me. Depending on the map, it can buy a ton of time. It also can hold a 3 gen for you. The area you need to defend is much smaller and makes it easier to get the other gen regression perks going.

Of all of the absolutely terrible killer perks, that is the one you have a problem with? It provides benefit, which puts well above the majority of killer perks. It slows the beginning part of the game down for survivors, while they have to run to gens further away. Plus, the killer knows they don't have to head to those gens and can head to closer gens, likely leading to earlier chases, and possibly downs.

I just find it boring I get it's a strategy thing but I find myself facing more and more killers with it so I've just come to think every killer brings.

Well... If Killers didn't use the perk what would you do
Start the Gen you spawned on
Boon/ Cleanse a Totem
Run to start another Gen
I know that both sides find certain perks boring but there isn't much excitement in the base game
Plus sometimes Corrupt makes things worse... not gonna lie

I think it's from killers PoV and I understand it, I don't like corrupt because it's rather hard to get value from this perk.

You dont have to use it. Monstrous shrine is much better

It is basically one of the best perks in the game that gets value regardless of what you do. Is there a different perk that starts with Corrupt that you people are talking about?

It's a perk that was designed to be boring... And it's hard to see it's value cause of Gen speeds and Gen spawns on top of Killer and Survivor spawns
Just maps in general
Just think of the time "wasted" looking for a Gen that isn't blocked and avoiding the Killer Vs. working on a Gen once you spawn in

If I see Corrupt at the beginning of the game, I hide in a corner until it finishes to counter this exactly. If everyone does that, then it offers no benefit to the killer at all unless they were running Lethal. I thought that was the proper way to counter it.

How do I get value when I'm chasing survivors in locked generators though?

You find it every match? I would long for a corrupt user, because then i know we have a match that lasts longer than 5 minutes

It all kind of depends, I suppose. It is not always going to give you huge value or anything like that, but blocked generators are blocked generators. That is rarely bad for killer kun.

So, you don't like facing it. You said it brings nothing to the table, and kind of acted like you were playing as a killer. That explains why the far worse killer perks didn't bother you. If you are a survivor and don't like playing against it, then it clearly does bring something to the table. It's popular because it is a perk that every killer can get some value out of. I really don't see it used that much. Nowhere near as much as DH, DS or other meta survivor perks. Some killers use it, some don't, some use it situationally.
That's kind of risky. If everyone doesn't do that, then people could be getting chased for 2 minutes and you are not working on gens. Worse, one person is getting chased and no one is working on gens. Imagine running a killer for 2 minutes and getting hooked only to see no gens done. Also, that would give killers that need to set up traps or portals plenty of time to do that. That essentially plays right into the killer's hands, and the perk did what it was intended to do, slow down the early game.

If nobody is on gens for 2 minutes that's the most value it's possible for the killer to get. That doesn't counter it at all it literally plays into the killers hands!
What you should be doing is pushing to the far side of the map from the corrupt zone if not being chased and if you are being chased get the killer to chase you into the corrupt zone so he's not pressuring the gens.

I love Corrupt. I can start chases much quicker

You find it boring because you can't instantly press on button while occasionally hitting different button?

Early game is where the killer is at their weakest. Without corrupt it is fairly likely that one or even two generators can pop before the killer finds and downs their first survivor. There are only two "help you at the beginning" perks, corrupt and lethal pursuer. The number 1 thing that helps a killer is more time. This is why corrupt is good and fairly popular.

Corrupt is one of the few things that keeps really low mobility killers from having an even worse time than they already do.

My only problem with corrupt is when the gens blocked are 500 meters away from each other. It should block the furthest gen plus the 2 closest from this one.

Well then you better understand why people use it.

You know how survivors spawn in and hop directly on a gen and can get 1-3 done before you have located, chased, downed, and hooked a survivor? Corrupt prevents that. Now when they spawn next to a gen they actually have to move around to find a gen.....which ends up having them run right into the killer. There are a few killer IMO that absolutely must have Corrupt Mike/Tapper come to mind.
