2,000 hours and I'm getting teammates who didn't know you had to crouch to avoid Hag's traps.
I'm seriously done with this game. It's not even funny anymore.

I feel like it's less that they don't know and more that they just don't care to avoid setting them off. Definitely obnoxious, especially when you are on hook or you just saved them from hook.
7 -
Nah they were injured and just ran up to unhook every time. It was pretty much like they had no idea and if they did why were they just throwing themselves at the hook perpetually?

To be fair, I had no idea about that until a few months ago thanks to a random thread
The game does very little to teach you these tricks and tips to deal with killer powers. You'd basically have to go into KYF (since still no bots or practice mode) to find out or hopefully randomly stumble on the info elsewhere

There's the chance they really don't know they can avoid triggering the trap just by crouching. One thing I really hate about this game that it fails to really teach players certain things and there is a LOT of things about this game, little mechanics, techs, etc that there's no way to know about unless you happen to come across it on YouTube or something.

man

Hag is so rare it wouldn't surprise me if they either don't know or just plain forget.

I agree with @bm33. I tend to observe some players more than others, especially after I die & spectate. Some of these players really don’t care and just want the points from grabbing you off hook. It’s the same ones that’ll grab you off while in chase. Not everyone mind you-but there seems to be quite a bit. They have NO patience. I assume usually these are kids and/or teens.

I had teammates with 1k hours who were dead harding against feral frenzy, like......bruh you can play killer and learn what they can do so when you play survivor you can know better.
2 -
Ok well then that's worse if they were experienced players and were sacrificing themselves. I want to actually play the game with experienced players who know what they're doing and not killing themselves.
3 -
I know your pain, bro. Trust me.
2 -
Because they don't care and are trying to get unhook challenge done but ignoring the "safe" bit that's in the challenge.
Edit to add: also what KerJuice said - just not caring at all too, maybe just going for unhook points because those are higher than the bonus for safe unhook.

I didn't know....

They always do that when I play Legion, it kind of annoys me because I just want to stabby stab.
3 -
...that's absolutely ascended. DHing an ability that can't down them. The absolute state of survivor play...

the thing is you shouldn't be surprised, how many hags do you run into on a regular basis? When a killer has a low playrate less players are experienced enough to know how to deal with them. Recently i had a match against legion, a Kate hid in a locker and got grabbed.

I'm sure there are people out there who are just playing to play the game. The game isnt just about winning for people... sometimes you gotta enjoy it or risk burning out and becoming toxic

I shouldn't be surprised that the players I'm getting matched with are nowhere near my experience level? That's ridiculous, the matchmaking is supposed to be fair.
2 -
That happens because you're clearly not good enough at hockey.

After facing a Hag, regardless of your teammates, this is the normal reaction to her.
Everytime I face Hag I think "I'm done with this game".
1 -
Yeah, join the club.
Our average teammates genuinely make me wonder if there are bots.

Just play SWF, you have a choice, you chose it.

Tbh, Hag is a really rare sight these days. So it doesn't surprise me that survivors don't know how to play around her traps.
We really need a bot mode that lets you play as/against every killer and that gives tooltips on the strengths and weaknesses.

Did you read the tips game says down when you charge the match

I had a similar game where a Laurie sat on a gen instead of mending (from a bt hit) and went down before the gen even popped. It meant the Dwight who was doing the gen with her then had to get her up. The other survivor was in chase and got downed while this was happening. I, who was on hook this entire time, proceeded to die on my first hook. Avoidable 4K if the Laurie had taken 10 seconds to actually mend.
similarly, I watched my boyfriend play in a swf once which some people he’d just met. In a game against a legion this one guy repeatedly went down because he wouldn’t mend. I’m sure that legion thought he’d hit the jackpot lol

I'm honestly not surprised. Literally no one plays Hag

If there isn't a tip that says that you can crouch to avoid tripping Hag Traps, there absolutely should be. Seeing a Survivor run in your direction to unhook you at full speed while you know there is a Hag trap right next to you feels like being tied to train tracks in a black-and-white movie.

I mean, that would have been over two years ago when I first started as those tips only show up the first time you play a killer (otherwise you'd know what killer you were up against before every match by looking at the loading tips).
I might not have been paying attention considering there are dozens of killers and she's a rare one. I might have forgotten. It might not be a tip that pops up. There are a lot of reasons why a survivor, no matter their level, wouldn't know this information. The game could REALLY use a killer specific tutorial as it does very little to teach you anything beyond "push m1 to do gen and run away if stabby person shows up".
1 -
The game tell you how to counter a killer? Im not really agree with that.

When you play the killer for the very very first time, the generic tips are killer specific tips (they're still pretty bare bones but if the game told you about crouching or using flashlights to avoid traps, it would be in there).
But yes, there should be a killer specific tutorial on how powers work. I STILL get people who hide in lockers when I feral frenzy and I imagine it's because the survivors have no idea that they light up like the 4th of July even in the locker once I've tagged a teammate. Survivors have no way of knowing this information unless they are told. Same with hag traps with crouching (or again, using flashlights. Knowing the crouch tip is more widespread but I wonder how many survivors realize you can burn traps away with flashlights too).

It is really weird ngl.
Yeah I feel horrible for solo survivors that have to deal with that, like I'm used to seeing that but imagine yourself being the teammate that gets to see that.

More often than not the randoms aren't running BT, it's so annoying. I wish they would for the challenge but instead I see them running We're Gonna Live Forever because they'll get a token for every safe unhook. They are usually the type that think safe hooks are bugged or the challenge is bugged instead of it being their bad plays.
1 -
thats not what i said, what makes you think they are nowhere near your experience level? because they dont know about a thing they almost never have to deal with? They probably are very good at dealing with Nurse or Blight but suck at dealing with Hag or Legion because they almost never have to face these killers.

This frustrates me no end because I know how small the killer base is. When all four survivors escape easily and at the end you realize that you had 4 survivors with purple perks and the killer is working with one or two green or yellow and you just feel bad. I don't mind losing as a killer but damn at least give me a shot.

I just had a game as Mirror Myers, and a Meg (obsession) literally kept running into my path giving me free stacks of PWYF to go chase everyone else down... and was completely clueless as to how I could see her through walls, etc.
Fun times :D
