Demogorgon's shred cancel

I've noticed in my demogorgon games,that when you charge a shred for the middle(not where you cancel shred with normal attack,nor when you do a small shred,in the exact middle),rmb'ing will just cancel the entire shred
has it always been like this? i've never noticed it
