Cheaters
Can you just admit there are no dedicated servers in dbd? There is only some trash proxy to increase ping for everyone, censor chat and ban people for DCing.
WE NEED DEDICATED SERVERS
EDIT: 3rd game against cheaters back to back. Wow. You really hate me.
EDIT2: 4 cheaters in a row. Are there any non-cheaters left in this trash game?

dedicated servers =/= anti-cheat

honestly game felt alot better before dedicated servers. What I don't understand is how people can fly around at mach speed and the game doesn't detect that, seems like a pretty simple thing. are they moving faster than default survivor speed, are any of the 10 perks that effect speed active. then the game boots them.

Yeah, its absolutely insane they cant detect such heavy hacks, this is really getting out of hand since the only way to ban those chaters is if someone takes the time to make a ticket with proof, and if its not on steam platform,I dont even know ifthat's enough to get a hacker banned.

I don’t want to stop yall from complaining if that’s all you want to do but there is a support ticket method that gets hackers accounts banned (quickly). If you bothered. If you wanted to do more than complain on the forums.

you must have video evidence. otherwise nothing will be done.

HAHAHAHAHAHA i got an evidence. An artist turned on her cheats midgame. what a loser
YOUTUBE HAS A LOT OF EVIDENCES. yet nothing is done. HAHAHA

yeah, but it only bans specific players. and you just need to go through the whole game, receiving EZs at the end like nothing happened.

If you're able to it would help reduce the number of hackers. But it does feel like an impossible war with the current report system as new accounts are so readily available.
1 -
If they are on Console (which you can appear as via cheats/scripts) you can't get their ID. Which makes it useless. If you don't record the evidence and then upload it and also do all the steps-> why should it be such a struggle to report someone?
Also, you can use certain stuff to unban yourself. And even IF you get banned, another game key costs like 5$, most don't care if they have to rebuy everything.
And to talk about ESP, speedhacks you can barely notice and other stuff that is just not easy to see on a recording is super hard to get evidence.

What we need is for BVHR to publicly take on these cheaters, for to long they have said they are doing things to combat this "behind the scenes" but that just seems like a bad excuse for doing very little.
Not only do i want them to actually do something i would like them to be seen to be taking actions, i dont like this "were doing stuff behind the scenes" approach, the same go's for the awful "secret" MMR system

This is a good point, alot of games reduced their hacker counts significantly by implementing player reporting. the account gets reviewed and banned. it can't be as simple as enough reports you get banned, but there should be a better reporting system in place that doesnt require 20 steps to complete.

you can't say, oh we fixed this specific exploit regarding x because then people look at that for another vulnerability. simply putting in the patch notes.
- fixed several issues regarding client side cheating
it would at least let us know you are doing something. instead of just leaving us out to dry. thats what being completely silent does.
I can say compared to a month ago. although it does exist I see it less frequently. for a long period of time i couldnt boot up the game without getting subtle or blatant hacking.

I report them, but it takes 40 minutes - 1 hours to report a cheater (uploading 10GB video to YT takes some time). I can report maybe 1 cheater a week.
Yesterday I played with / against 5 cheaters (actually it was more like 8 cheaters in 5 games). Do you really expect me to spend 5 hours a day reporting cheaters?
Also based on my previous reports, it takes 5-8 days to get someone banned. I wouldn't say it's fast enough when people have hundreds of epic games accounts with dbd (source: Choy on YT).
Dedicated servers > anti-cheat
Anti-cheat will never detect all cheats. If game state is managed by dedicated server, it is impossible to use most cheats (except for maybe subtle speedhack, wallhack, aimbot and similar cheats).

That’s not true about the ID. This reads like simply complaining.
You could do something about it though.

Oh, my bad, I didn't know you can get their ID. That is on me then. Maybe I just never found it. I really couldn't be bothered to do all these steps. If I have a cheater I either just ignore them or mess around with the others. as long as the cheater doesn't have fun.
Yes, I complain, but more that I'm bothered about the problem how it exists, and the steps to report are so "complicated". This system can't be defended. If I'm not allowed to complain about it, or if I understood you wrong, let me know.
I don't record every game as i often just play one round, then stop, later play another round again, etc.
I played a lot CS:GO and i was so fed up that I threw it away over night, literally never touched this game ever since. Back then i was invested in checking every game for mistakes they made or using the spectator tool in small tournaments, and it makes you paranoid.
For me I only record if someone is blatant and if I get it, I get it, if not, w/e.

I reported several cheaters months ago (with video evidence) and went through the proper channels.
As of writing this, I haven't received any confirmation that action was taken nor has my independent investigation of their accounts found that the one who was on Steam was banned.

I’ve done the same. Their accounts were banned in days. I suspect I wasn’t the only player reporting them, but I bookmarked their accounts and checked up later. All of them. Game banned.
Yeah I think I get it. Real quick, two things:
1.) DBD has an in game player ID. You can view your own in settings. When submitting a ticket, it asks for this IDnumber. When you report someone at the end of a trial, it ties their DBD ID to yours through the report. When they ask for the offender, you only need to put their user name so they can trace your submitted reports.
2.) I do not record every match either. I just record a minute or two when I find a cheater and track them for evidence. If playing killer, I’ll spend a portion of my match reporting them then and there.

ay, that makes more sense. i also always added the SteamID WHEN i reported, it seems to definitly make it more viable for them to decide on a ban (but that's just how i can see the situation)
The system still needs an overhaul. That's what i wish for. Cheaters will get new accounts, but when we can ban them quicker, i'm all for it

I thought about this several times
I don't have any idea of programming, but is really that hard to implement a script in the servers to detect if one player is moving too fast in the map coordinates, repairing a generator too quickly or using perks he hasn't equiped? Seeing this from outside doesn't seems to be that hard.

It would work for sure, especially with how the game works in the background. It would take work and some stuff comes from your side and tells the server "hey server, i walk with 200mp/h" server answers "alright, i move you with 200mp/h"
If the server would know how fast you can walk and should walk (let's say we ignore perks for now) he could say "ay are you falling right now, because you are faster than what you should walk right now? no? why are you faster?" so it checks you. if you have a certain amount of checks, it kicks you or temp. bans you (ofc that is super simplified and ignored a lot of stuff)
With perks, it would take a lot of work to make the server check every single perk and needs to know a lot of stuff which takes a lot of calculations, etc, etc.
It can cause many problems with latency, so if you have just 20ms higher ping, it could cause a lot of trouble. Often it would need to be known from the beginning to take it into consideration.

yall guys try to discuss and shiz, but yall expecting BVHR will do something. "fck it, deal with the cheaters yourself", thats would probably Mathew Cole will say to its fans.
if they really want to improve the game, they have done it way long time ago. whether we have cheaters or not, good press or bad press, is still publicity. its getting tiring. im already assuming these cheaters are actually the devs themselves.
