Can we please get some address for rapid fire flashlights?
Not only is it extremely annoying, but epileptic players could actually get some harm from this. There's really no excuse for this still being here

They genuinely hurt my eyes!

There's no argument for keeping it.
It has no in-game application that is affected if we put a limit on how many times you can click a flashlight in a single second.

Exactly!
1 -
I've always thought this part of flashlights needs to be addressed.
1 -
Another good point for this! Making a cooldown on how quickly someone can macro their flashlight isnt going to make flashlight saves harder
1 -
lot of thins need to but never do, but this part of accessibility always stayed on my mind
2 -
I always thought flashlights should have a mechanic of tokens instead of charges. Each activation consumes a token, so if the player tries to spam the flashlight, they will run out of tokens.
Anyway, will this happen? They never said anything about flashlight macro so I don't think it will be a priority situation.
It took them 6 years to fix stretched resolution and they knew it had unfair advantages...

This topic is brought sometimes to the forum and surprisingly there are people against this (we can know what kind of players they are they if they're against this change).
Removing the "clicky clicky" is one of the best thing which can be easily done for the health of the game and nobody who uses the flashlights for what are intended to should be against this.
Two-Three seconds cooldown after using a flashlight would be enough, it is really that simple.

Clicky-clicky is the survivors version of face-camping and tunneling-off-hook-till-dead.

There's two separate things being requested here, and it'd be better to focus on the more attainable one rather than the one that's not going to happen.
People that do clicky clicky probably can "spam" the flight light a handful of times a second. I doubt that'll get changed.
But the mega-spam scriptaculous bzzz of clicks with trigger the lights like 60+ times a second, those are definitely problematic.
I don't think a 2-3 second cooldown is going to happen. But maybe a restriction to 5(?) clicks per second or something much more manageable is likely to get people on board (and possibly implemented)

Except face camping and tunneling off hook doesn't post a serious risk to those with photosensitivity.
10 -
It's not even just the visual look, it hurts my ears like crazy as well.
But yeah no reason this cant be patched out tbh, would be a nice little patch
4 -
Jesus that's a horrible take.
A legitimately dangerous physical condition is not the same as you not liking how the Killer played. Get a grip.

People say that clicky-clicky is bad for those who are photosensitive, however would people with photosensitivity actually play this game. Video games are bad for people with photosensitivity in general. This game is actually horrible for people with photosensitivity because of flashlight blinds, heck even Sadako is basically a epileptic seizure waiting to happen It seems like playing this game with photosensitivity would be about the same as placing your hand in a blender and expecting to not get hurt.
Not to mention The Doctor. I find it really hard to believe people are having seizures off of clicky-clicky and not going against The Doctor.
4 -
But face camping and tunneling off of hook doesn't have a chance to give the person a seizure on the other side
6 -
As someone who has had a seizure in the past and is still prone to it, a video game like this is fine, but when you look at something as fast moving as a flashlight click, from what I understand the brain just can't register it and causes a seizure, but idk the full tech behind it, all I know was to avoid flashing lights, and getting hit in the face, and none of the games I played were "flashing" constant movement of stuff isn't considered "flashing"
3 -
The fact it's an accessibility issue is reason enough that they should change it.
They really need to put more effort into accessibility in this game and considering all issues including photosensitivity.
3 -
Teabagging and flashlight clicking needs a 3 seconds CD so u cant Spam crouching and clicking anymore there is no reason this to Keep this in Game the only thing it does it that toxic Survivor so this to upset a Killer
1 -
I'm surprised you would play this game because of The Doctor. Also Sadako? Isn't he just as bad as the flashlight clicky-clicky, most times the clicky-clicky doesn't even hit me in the face when I play killer and it's very rare when I see it. How about the flashlight blind, I could see that causing seizures.
1 -
Extremely photosensitive due to nerve damage in my left eye (thank you deep fryer for exploding in my face!) here and still play games. If I notice a migraine coming on, I turn off whatever I'm playing. I worked 3rd shift FOR YEARS simply because it was easier on my eyes/ head
Sudden bright lights make me so sick so my stomach. Would love if they did something to change the way blinding worked visually.
4 -
Well first off, i main doc so.... yeah, second off I'm on PlayStation so I don't have sadako available yet, and thirdly... what can I say? I run lightborn, lol
1 -
I reinstall DBD after a few months because siege and VHS are down for maintence I go to check the forums and this is in the first post I see. Never change DBD never change.
3 -
What is this comparison even for? This is a post talking about health related issues regarding a game mechanic, not a they vs us post. Are you seriously that ######### petty that you would ignore the main topic of the post and instead try to start some argument? How sad do you have to be to do that
4 -
Imagine unironically comparing something with literally zero gameplay impact or reason that can cause health issues for photosensitive players to dev-accepted gameplay strategies that causes zero health issues.
Nice victim-blaming.
3 -
Yes -- this is bad enough in everyday situations, but if some random kid decides it's funny to deliberately try to give someone a seizure, there's no safeguard in the game to stop that ATM. I had one chase me around all match one time, spamming a super bright flash in my face, not seeming to understand what a horrible thing it would have been if he succeeded. :(
2 -
The devs toned down the photosensitivity of Ringu, so why not flashlights?
2 -
Weird since they haven't said or done anything about it even though in the past (idk if it still is a thing now) the use of macros was against BHVR's TOS for dbd.
1 -
Also doctors insanity and clowns chase music give me sensory overload
0 -
It shouldn’t be in the game. There should be a cooldown on flashlights after turning them off.
2 -
The only major implication I can think of is that survivors may no longer be able to readjust their flashlight timing for a flash save. As in, stop the flash for a millisecond and then flash again to correct the timing.
But... if BHVR implements a good system that situation should still be doable.

Sadako is getting adjustments because of photosensitivity.
Even setting aside the photosensitivity issues, there is zero legitimate reason for flashlight macros to be used. The only reason is to be obnoxious, so any justification to get rid of it is enough.
1 -
I don’t have photosensitivity but that guy trying to justify it being in the game is an absolute train wreck.
I think he wants it to remain in the game so he can annoy killers.
There’s also another issue I’ve had hackers take my game hostage before and they could put their self into the hook animation over and over so fast it creates like a super bright aura that flashes and immense amount of noise the developers need to look into this too.
Go to 09:42 in this video this is what it does. (Don’t watch if you have photosensitivity etc)
