A new killers thoughts about being a new killer and DBD as a whole. (new killers plz read.)

Hey new killer here. so.. let me start by saying I really enjoy the game. I also love playing killer over survivor. I enjoy outwitting (when I am able) laughing at slip ups including my own. The game can seem unfair at first blush but when you really look at the angles of the killer and the survivors it makes sense for the game to be balanced in the way that it is. Killers to op and no survivors can even get a gen done because of how much pressure a op killer can bring. Survivors to op and the killer might as well find the nearest corner and put his head into it like child who know hes done wrong for even loading into the game. So a constant tug of war is necessary and that can feel unfair at times.

Now with that out of the way and also acknowledging that everything I say here will have ZERO effect on how things will turn out and holy forbid some form of change happens for the good. First off any survivors who are veterans and new killers who may be reading this. Being a new killer is down right SOUL SUCKING at times... why? Well there is soooo much to learn to be a killer who can at least have fun and get a average of 2k a game when up against good solo survivors or survive with friends. Not to mention survivor teams who run two working gens and the other two just flat out pushing the killer around because you as the killer have not figured out how to use your kit properly to actually be a threat to them.

This is not even touching on the subject of the chase how the tiles of the map fell and loops that if your not familiar or have some degree of expertise are completely at the mercy of the survivor leading you around the loops by the nose. This leads to camping, tunneling and every other dirty trick that survivors get pissed about. and no I am not condoning it but to quote Chris Rock... “I understand.” because its frustrating to try and learn the game and have fun when your not necessarily losing... but feeling completely useless in your role as the killer. Which in a lot of ways is a worse feeling than simply losing all the time.

PERKS.... oh dear... the perks.... now I love to build new ideas and try to get them to work. Its a lot of fun and you can surprise survivors in new crafty ways that they are not expecting. Unless... yes.. the unless... your dealing with a team who can almost pop 3 gens during your first chase and can guarantee 2 gens popping. One chase.... 2-3 gens popping under ten minutes into the game. Now.. its really hard not to feel demoralized sometimes when this happens. Sadly all a new killer can really do is get good scrub, at least that is what it feels like for some.(and this is more common than not the higher in ranks you go.) As well, just a notice to all the survivors... ^ that kind of playing leads to cookie cutter killers who have simply decided its easier to run the proper counter meta then trying anything original because their will to fight that kind of game play has ultimately been beaten out of them.

OK well I could go on with more examples of how being a fresh killer can be soul sucking, including the epic farm for perks. But ill table that for now. I am going to say this for the new killers who may be reading this. As a new killer my self my best advice, take a deep breath dont get mad.. or try not to. And ignore stupid things like tea bagging how angry flash lights and pallet drops that you feel shouldn't have hit you and the body blocks that keep you from hooking make you feel. FOCUS on learning the chase, load in and just find the best survivor and spend the match just chasing that one character. DO NOT focus on winning or falling into the trap of thats not fair. Instead watch You tube videos, (I recommend Spooky loops, and Potato legion my self.) and really look at what the killers offer in their special powers. Find one you like and learn that power in and out. Again do not even concern your self with winning the match. Instead focus on just getting that power to go off and hit like its second nature to you. And I think you will find your self slowly getting better just by changing your focus from winning the match and hooking survivors to mastering the basics of the game and the basics of your killer. IN SHORT, even if it annoys the survivors because your not chasing everyone or even doing any real combat against them spend the time to just learn looping how to chase oh! And when to just give up on a chase. If you can corner a survivor in shack and spend the whole match running shack so you can figure out how to beat that tile. If you dont take the time to do this well.... once you hit a particular mmr or rank Survivors are just going to make you want to quit as killer. Dont let them do that to you take the time to sharpen your skills your way. I hope this helps anyone and everyone see you in the fog. Sincerely Kihtghost.
