Can anyone on the forums review my killer gameplay and give me some tips?

I have gotten better with demogorgon but I keep making so many dumb mistakes. I still struggle looping at shack and around pallets. I was wondering if someone could review my gameplay and tell me what I could do better. Thank you I would really appreciate it!

So, ok. Disclaimer I'm definitely not an expert at all, but just in the first 3 minutes I saw you make a few small mistakes that loose you time.

You respected a pallet completely unnecessarily, letting the survivor greed it. Don't respect pallets. Ever.

You ran shack the wrong direction. Just recently learned this myself, but you are supposed to make the survivors run it so they enter through the pallet door.

You ran back to a completed generator a bit late because you were finishing a hook. A perfectly fine move, but then when you didn't see anything, you remained, checked the rocks and whatnot. When the survivors finished the Gen they don't linger, there was absolutely no reason for them to be hiding around. On this situation you make a quick visual check to see if you can find where are they scurrying to and get into a chase. If you don't , you go back to hook and potentially get an easy hit on the unhooker, but you missed this because you delayed at the finished Gen.

Small things like this add up very quickly in the early game.

You didn't really do anything majorly wrong in that game. With that in mind I can give you some general pointers, but I'm not really someone who plays Demo really.

Since the game was so active from the start you didn't really get a chance to put any down, but portals will help you keep an eye on gens with the right positioning.

At some of the taller loops you could have moonwalked and potentially caught survivors off guard rather than following them around.

This is gonna be a personal preference thing, but I would rather have went after the closer people than tunnel visioning on Tapp. Getting him out of the game was ultimately a worthwhile decision, but could have picked up more hits overall which just leads to more BP in the end. Nothing really bad about this play though.

You played a pretty fine game. Some of your chases were a bit on the long side, but it didn't really seem to hurt you that game as everyone stayed injured for the most part so good job there.

I think it is just small adjustments overall that will come with time. Someone with more Demo-centric experience may have better tips

try less wasting speed in chase due of first person view

and i recommend don't play killer in current state, only few killers works fine agans decent survivors

I'll be honest, you made a lot of mistakes within the first minute that cost you a lot of time. The very first chase you took, you let the survivor run straight around to the window within the T-wall, then swung and hit the window. You could have stopped and backed up to the other side of the window once you heard him vault and got an early hit, or if you didn't hear the vault, charge your lunge to force a reaction from the survivor that would put you into a good spot to either lunge or fake and smack them.

There were little mistakes like that all throughout the video I saw, I could go on further but the main point would boil down to the same thing - practicing and developing game sense.

I can elaborate more if you want, or point you to some other informative videos

Yeah when I don’t get enough pressure at the start I don’t have enough time to put down portals. The past few games I have been using them

Here another game. I used the portals here and the red add on was helping so much. It allows me to see the auras of the survivors when I come out of the portal. I didn’t use any add ons in the first game I showed I ran out💀. I missed a ton of shreds too unfortunately

Yeah I felt like I was gonna get steamrolled at the beginning. Idk how I managed to pull it off. I’ll gladly take any help to improve! And I missed to many shreds too I have improved there but still need work

It's a time-honored tradition in many forums to help out other players. I wouldn't have nearly the interest in MK and CvS2 if it wasn't for other players helping me learn combos, input timing, and even sometimes the terminology.

I watched it. Main thing to take away from it is that you were very ambitious with your shreds. Survivors would sometimes be 5 meters in front of you in a dead zone and you’d unnecessarily shred them. It definitely happens to the best of us though, sometimes we want a quicker down but it’s just too punishing missing a shred like that. Definitely a solid performance overall though.

So, the first game honestly went pretty well. Your early game was a bit rough but you brought it back, so nicely done.

It bothers me a little bit that you never placed a portal. I can kinda get why. Early game you were lacking pressure, but there were a few times you maybe could have put one down. Especially right after you downed Tapp with Haunted Grounds. Just quick slap one down on the balcony before you drop down and that probably would have been helpful.

Another thing I noticed you never really did was go for moonwalks and mind games. When done right, those can shave off a ton of time from chases. If you haven't learned how to do that I would recommend attempting to teach yourself that. It will be worse before it is better, but once its better it is so much better.

From here below, most of this is more nit picky things.

At the beginning of the match, you had 2 survivors by a gen in the corner of the map who were closer to you and then 2 on a gen on a middle edge. You probably should have gone off after the 2 in the corner for two reasons. First, they were closer. You'd get there sooner and get into chase sooner. Second, there's a reasonable chance you could have herded the chase smack dab into the other group of Survivors which would have at least temporarily pushed 3 Survivors off gens.

At 0:30, if you had reversed direction without turning around, she probably would have vaulted right into your arms giving a free hit.

At 1:25, usually what I do when a Survivor blinds me while I'm stunned is just break the pallet while you're blind and look down afterwards.

At 3:55, there was probably closer hooks behind you. I mean a lot of this carry wasn't great just cause you got caught on stuff a lot, but you might have been able to hook her and gotten back to Tapp to hook him if you'd found a closer hook behind you.

At 5:37, Kate flat out fed you a free hit and you didn't take it. I do get that you were trying to get Tapp out of the game but you should usually just take those.

That's most of what I noticed. Take it for what you will.

  • deKlaw_04
    deKlaw_04 Member Posts: 3,660

Oh yeah thing is I don’t kill Kate’s that’s why I have her hatch lmao. That’s on me tho. And yeah this game I really couldn’t use the portals the other game I did and it worked out well check that one out. As for the moonwalks😬 that’s something I desperately need to learn

  • FFirebrandd
    FFirebrandd Member Posts: 2,445

Ah. Yeah... I don't have any Survivors I refuse to kill.

Good luck with the moonwalks. Like I said in my post, when you're still learning it, you'll mess it up and make things worse so many times before you get the hang of it. But once you do get it it's really powerful.

Couldn't watch it all as I'm currently making dinner, but I'll say these few things. I'm no demo main but been playing the game (both roles) for 5 years and I was always rank 1 and now likely high mmr.

Firstly perks, I wanna touch on this subject just quickly. While theres nothing wrong with your perks and you do get some good value they're heavily RNG based, and because they arent consistent neither will your games be consistent.

Gameplay, so first you need a little practice at preparing your direction when charging a shred, for example that killer shack (first time) was a hit, you just seemed like you wasnt aligned and had to adjust before you could shred giving them a free vault.

Unsafe loops, like the one a near stuns and blinds you at should result in a hit, baiting a shred is fine but you really want to avoid stunts on weak pallets, standing at the pallet and doing abit of mind gaming will help.

Learn distance of tiles, lunges etc. Right near the begging you miss a hit at a LT wall. With the distance she had you was never going to hit and just put yourself into recovery. While it's a 50/50 guess if they vault dont forget you can moonwalk to hide your red stain, should definitely use that to confuse survivors.

Weak links, the tapp was a weak link especially within the first chase you can see him unnecessarily crouching at a rock you can see over, highlighting weak links can help you alot. Especially when it comes to getting one out early to tilt the balance your side.

Dont over worry about using shred on pallets if you're already touching it. Shred is the same speed unless you have the addon and even then you have the charge up.

I dont wanna say too much or go too in detail, I'm abit busy and I dont want to come across like you're doing lots wrong when that isnt the case theres just so much going on a killer need to take notice of. I'm sure I can give you more tips/suggestions another time but nothing can beat practice, even versing over demos (rare) will help you more

    deKlaw_04 Member Posts: 3,660

Yeah I mess up with the shred a lot I did get one on nea at shack and I downed her with it later. As for perks, I know what are the best builds but I kind of find it boring. It’s like using unbreakable ds dh and adrenaline or bt. I wanted to try something different with haunted grounds lmao. I’ll take any advice I can get

On demo you can run shack and L T walls the 'wrong' way and just shred em

You did pretty well in that game overall.

I will say though and this is just what I do for Demo so you don't have to do what I do you play how you want. I would recommend not having Lethal on Demo as I did notice you didn't place any portals down and Lethal will lead you to them quickly however you may want to put some portals down as well so that you can travers the map quickly.

Also when they were all grouped up around that one gen near that one mini shack I don't know what it's called I would recommend that if they're in the open like that and no pallets are near I'd just go for an M1 rather than a shred since missing a shred can loose you more time than just an M1.

Other than that you did basically well with him.

    I watched the 2nd game, here's what I noticed:

First, some general advice. Corrupt is actually really good on Demo and can give you time to place down your portals. I find a lot of success with it, so consider replacing Lethal Pursuer with it. The rest of your build is pretty solid, but after watching the game, you probably should have tried to protect your Ruin a little more, possibly by placing a portal near it.

1:08: You didn't really need to ready up your shred there. even if the survivor was going to try to drop the pallet, which I'm guessing is what you were trying to stop, you'd get them even if you didn't shred. In fact, the short charge-up time for shred might have even given the survivor just enough time to drop the pallet on you and get the stun. Luckily, this didn't happen.

1:22 excellent job faking shred to bait out DH!

4:16 Just a nitpick, but when a survivor tries to run around like a small obstacle like that, don't follow them- come around the other side. It will guarantee you a hit almost every time.

6:43 When you're shredding immediately after coming around a corner, you want to give yourself a split second to get your bearings before you shred. Most survivors expect you to shred immediately and don't continue to run straight once they turn the corner. While you did give yourself that time, I feel like you didn't really use it to focus on where the survivor was.

8:17 I think the Mikaela had a little too much distance on you, so it probably would have been better to just double back and try to intercept her after she vaulted the window. But as a general rule of thumb, in these situations you want to hold your shred as you enter the shack. The survivor usually won't vault the window if they see you're holding it, but if they do it's a free hit. In this case though, the Mikaela had just a little too much distance, which is a problem you can actually fix by just sticking closer around the walls of the shack. The tighter you loop, the less distance the survivor gets.

Overall, very solid game! I'm glad you took the time to share your gameplay :)

I have used corrupt too before and yeah it’s pretty good I just wanted to try out new perks like haunted on him. I would switch out lethal but I don’t know where the survivors spawn lmao. The one thing I did do better in the second game was the use of the portals. Luckily his red addons makes it work using it and it really carried me the entire game. The first game I sent I didn’t use any addons I ran out💀 anyways thanks for the feedback these are really the only tow games I got footage of.

Would love to my friend but not a big Demo player. As for universal skill work on judging distance a bit better to alleviate time lost in chase (for instance the fail shred at shack vault against nea, missed swing at pallet which she faked). She had way to much distance for you to hit the shred and dont hesitate at pallets.....you want them dropped. Other than that I dont think you as bad as you think.

Ormond, good survvors, bad build, etc. Also if your blinded at a pallet always break it while blind if you cant track em. This trial would have been better (not that it was bad) with corrupt instead of Ruin and STBL instead HG. Try not to get down on yourself when you dont have a solid build against survivors who do. Lastly Demo has portals....might want to use them a bit. Tracking, mobility, and slowdown wasted if you dont.

Edit: this is just based off your first video....A 4k at 2 gens is great....knock off some minor mistakes you kill them even sooner.

Ok the pallet breaking when blinded I need to do. I do have corrupt but I don’t have save the best for last unfortunately lmao. And honestly I just didn’t really get a chance to use the portals in the first game. Second game I did. Thank you bro really appreciate it man!

Hey, I saw the first one and you focus a bit much on the weak link. He seemed fairly scared to be doing much if left alive.

Nea knew she could bait you on pallets because you seemed a bit scared at the beginning and eventually got her downed.

I'd use the pallet thrower to drop as many pallets as possible knowing that ruin is still active. So the rest have no protection.

You had a decent three gen in the making. They were an overly altruistic team as well. You nearly downed four at one point . Adam, most likely running tenacity was a hard one to leave on the floor, but Dwight and Nea were a bit dangerous. One of the on hook would hurt their match loads.

I don't know what to tell you.

I would have been over the moon with that result.

Try and trick them at the beginning by failing a hit or getting stunned, see how they react. If they get cocky, use it against them.

Use portals, I think there is an add on that takes away your TR and aura and that can really hurt them.

Based on this video, I'd say run thanatophobia and/or sloppy, it can make them waste a lot of time. If you see them doing a boon, ######### the chase and take it, make them waste time, you'll still be able to follow pools of blood, but you take their chances of healing and they have to light it up again.

By the way, I'd never seen the portal animation, like how you move from one to another on first person and it's amazing!

    First chase:

You just held W at the L T wall. In your first chase with a survivor you should have moonwalked and double back at it, and see if they catch on. If they do don't try it again but it works more often than not.

You charge the shred too late at the shack. You should be charging that right as you come up to the door, not once you are already inside.

From there you insta vaulted, rather than doing a moonwalk fake with the red stain first. You also could have double vaulted or triple vaulted as a mindgame.

When Nea camps the pallet you M1 instead of shred, which was a mistake.

You respected an unsafe pallet. Run through it or don't.

If you are already eating the blind, spend the time breaking the pallet too. You also just stood in place instead of attempting to follow them while blinded? From there the game was already lost.

There is alot you could improve on.
