Surveillance is Severely Underwhelming
In what world would a killer ever take Surveillance over Overcharge, Ruin, or Pop Goes the Weasel? Its duration is too short, and it doesn't feel impactful like the other generator regression / time management perks.
So here's a way to make it better:
- After kicking a generator, the Killer will see its aura glow white if a Survivor begins repairing it, and return to red if they stop working on it. This effect lasts 25/30/35 seconds.
This change will provide the killer with more useful and persistent information. The generator's aura will only appear white if a Survivor is actively working on it, rather than simply fading to red after a Survivor taps it. The increased duration allows the killer to keep tabs on multiple generators at once, but still only physically be able to patrol one at a time. The argument for taking Surveillance over Overcharge then will be that it allows the Killer to patrol generators without notifying Survivors that he has the perk (unlike Overcharge where it's obvious the Killer has the perk and may patrol your generator if you miss a skillcheck). This will make Surveillance the go-to perk for managing generator progress, and become especially strong on stealth killers.

This is what I would like to see done with Surveillance.
Surveillance- Unlocks potential on one's aura reading abilities. The last regressing generator reveals the auras of survivors within 6/10/14 meters. Once the exit gates are powered all generators reveal the auras of survivors within 6/10/14 meters.

The problem with all those survivor location perks is, that it it barely their location that matters, but your ability to catch them. As long as the main idea of the perk is to "track" someone, then it will be #########.
That is why all META perks either slow down the game or help you kill faster, through added killing power or anti-loop.My suggestion would be:
Surveillance:
After the survivor touches a regressing Gen, they gain the Exposed status effect for 20/30/40 seconds.
"Are you gonna behave?" — Amanda YoungThis way it's actually a perk that matches the theme of Surveilling, because if the killer is surveilling you and you think you're funny by quickly touching that Gen, then you will be punished.
(Synergized great with Pop Goes The Weasel, and it would feel so good to see survivors hopping on a regressing Gen and getting ambushed by Amanda.)0
