The Grind... Oh, The Grind...

I like to achievement hunt in DBD, since it's a way to experience different characters in various ways. But I'll say this: To make it to Rank 1 as survivor and killer is a nightmare. Since our ranks are now actually grades, the most recent Q&A admitted the grind is getting out of hand in DBD AND since 2 million BP is enough to max out merely 2 characters out of the 30 survivors and 25 killers, why is the pipping system so ruthless? I mean, the offerings we take to double our points in each category are nice to make BP farming easier, but they don't increase our scoring for each category's medal, which is what we need for pipping. 2 totems, 2 gens, 2 safe unhooks, 2 heals, about 45 seconds in a chase (plus losing the killer) AND getting out alive are what it takes for a double pip starting at Iridescent 3. On the survivor side, it seems that this is a bit too much, no? And all that so we can have the BP we want to level up the characters we want (or to dump in characters we won't play, but who have good perks we want). Combine that with the MMR system and it's a recipe for stress. If you get carried by your team, you have to leave or you won't get gold/iridescent on survival. And if you get carried by your team and escape, the matchmaking system will consider you skilled, even though you were one of the weaker links. Killers have to 4k or 3k and give hatch. And they better go for 12 hooks or there won't be enough points in the sacrifice category. Chases also can't be too short nor too long. And they better kick gens, go for multiple hits rather than instadowns, break pallets, break doors, snuff boons. And again, with MMR, this does make things even more stressful, because hitting that skill ceiling might make some people quit the game altogether. In most games, we sometimes face stronger opponents and sometimes weaker opponents, regardless of our own skill. What about DBD makes it require skill based matchmaking? Does anyone else feel like this demands way too much and becomes way too stressful fast? Especially if you want a more casual game later on and you don't want to have to throw games just for that to happen.
