I’m enjoying the new diversity in Gen Regression perks. Hbu?
I’m really enjoying how BHVR has been introducing more diverse perks for killers to use when it comes to the gen regression meta for killers! As someone who plays both survivor and killer it’s really helped in my personal enjoyment of the game.
When playing survivor not having to constantly deal with Ruin is really nice. Sure it can be tough having to deal with the more recent regression perks but honestly the diversity is all that matters, and it’s really helped make each game feel more unique.
And as a killer player who refuses to run Ruin, getting to make interesting builds that don’t have to include it has been fun too. Yeah some are much more powerful than others, but it’s still enjoyable experimenting with combinations rather than slapping on the same old one or two perks.
That’s just my opinion though!

Since most of regressions are generally side-grade at best, it's nice to make the game little more diverse by introducing them, even though meta is still pretty much just slowdown and that's it.

It doesn't matter how many options there are. Once a killer player reaches a level where they want to win, and their survivors no longer feel like playing around, they have to pick the best option. As overrated as they are, I still think Pop and Ruin take that spot. If a killer with Jolt or Eruption wins, the survivors were most likely chill, or they gave the killer massive value off those perks.
I also dislike Ruin. Don't like running it because it gets broke, and don't like going against it because the killer gets a god totem spawn or my teammates simply can't handle it. The higher level you go, Ruin does less and less for you, as do all gen regression perks. But it is fun sometimes to put on 3-4 gen regression perks and hope you get a weaker team so you can use them. It feels good actually having control of the gens.

Sadly that’s how the meta works. You get to a level where meta perks are essentially the only option. Survivors are forced into perks like BT, DS and UB while killers are forced into perks like ruin, pop and no way out. For a game with like 80 perks on both sides it’s kinda ridiculous how little are actually worth running with the meta

I'm sure I'd love them if I saw them but alas it's still better to slap ruin undying tinkerer and pop onto Blight and call it a day

Yes and no. Its great to see so many options, but it seems to continue driving the game in a direction where slowdown perks are a necessity on many killers, which in turn limits the potential to be creative with other perks, rather than addressing the base issues.
Id rather see a nerf across the board for slow down perks and a buff to the base kit that would bring them roughly in line with how they are now when combined but reduce dependence on them. Kinda like how they nerfed ghostface cooldown reduction addons but reduced his overall cooldown to make it so its the same experience with them, but better without.

Slowdown will always be meta, when 4 survivors can spawn on separate gens I'm not sure what you expect

Deadlock is probably my favourite one atm. When playing survivor, Im seeing corrupt used a lot too. Gen defense is fundamental as even if you play well, gens will get cleared.

Eh. It's nice but most of them are mediocre which definitely hinders how much I want to use them.

That's exactly the reason why having more slowdown is feasible, it gave the variety for that smallset of meta.

Thats a terrible inefficient combo. You basically waste 2 perkslots for "backup" when Ruin gets cleansed.

Tbh, while i see Call of Brine as the new Ruin, i can´t stop thinking that its just another bandaid for the obvious gen speed problem.

The problem of the most gen regression/protection perks, included the newer ones, are only good when combined with other regression perks.
For example, Call of Brine is only good when combined with Pop.
If there were more perks good by themselves the builds would be more fun.

And yet EU adores it. PR would be better than Pop but considering they struggle to win with that build I don't think they're the best at the game

I agree thats one of the few reasons that keeps me into the game, its really fun having different simular strong builds.

Because you need two perks for a decent effect, reducing the slots for more creative builds, the meta builds are made up of 3 gen regression/protection perks and sometimes 4, usually Corrupt Intervention and two more.

I think its more grasping at any straw in a desperate attempt to slowdown gens, instead of actually liking it.

Corrupt and Pain Resonance/DMS are right there and they go for ruin undying tinkerer pop despite all that. They have the options now, with them being potentially better, the options just aren't being used.
Though ofc, I don't play as these people and I don't know what's going on in their head. You could very well be correct.
My point was just that the exact same perks are being used even with the newer ones, so I can't really experience them since I don't ever face them.

Despite all that, don´t you find it kinda "unbalanced" how killers have to sacrifice half or even 3/4 of their loadout. Just to slowdown gens?
Playing without slowdown has become nearly impossible.

I do, in fact, wish slowdown wasn't mandatory at higher levels unless you're a dbd god. But just like how totem spawns haven't constantly improved, gen defence has become no less mandatory, despite that being a supposed goal

Ye meta is something else, even though its just copium, ppl think for some reason the game is unplayable without 4 anti gen perks. I play for myself only 2 at max and still have a kill rate of 3,6 on most killers on average.
