What is the priority of the developers in fixing the game?
Dead by Daylight is a fun experience, chasing or being chased is fun. (if you play in moderation)
Currently there are some problems with the game: <- Personal
- Toxicity
- Optimization + UI
- Balance
Toxicity is hated by most, but to me it's a core component of a competitive game like this, because it gives stakes. (everyone wants to kill that one teabagging survivor, everyone wants to save the facecamped survivor, etc...)
Optimization should be a priority, since nowadays Dead by Daylight looks like a cheap game. The low fps is very annoying in a game where you have to time your moves. The UI is overwhelming, it looks like one from MMORPGs. I JUST WANT TO CLICK PLAY, LET ME BREATH A LITTLE WITH ALL THOSE BUTTONS!
Balance is something that is discussed very often, so I'm not going to list all the problems regarding this.
What is the current priority of the developers? Are they already working on fixing the optimization (and hopefully) the UI problems?
In your opinion, what should be their top priority??

Top priority should be anti-cheat. Can't even gauge balance properly with subtle hackers.

its simply easy anticheat program which is used by many steam games.
Dbd is kibd of a relic game. like year ago it was possible to check which killer is in a lobby vecause file wasn't encrypted.
You can see a lot of obvious cheaters from epic side because game was given free.
The smart cheaters uses a little bit of cheat to not be detected easily - wallhack for example. Its impossible to say whether it was a perk , intuition or hack

I'm interested more into new games modes they're/ were trying out. As survivor holding gens for 80 sec was fine at the beginning but gets boring really quick no matter how many perks/add ons you try to throw at it.

As a console player game performance and optimization top my list.
They seem more reactionary to me rather than preventative, which makes me question the testing methods. Admittedly this is a tough job with the game across so many platforms. Imo the issue isn't competency it is not enough time is spent on testing.
As for optimization, the fact that they chose to handle this in-house has always bothered me. Most companies farm that work out to experts when a developer ports their game over to the consoles.

Better console optimization for sure, especially for last gen consoles.

You forgot about hackers.

The game is considered balanced right now by the developers. Their data is showing them that killers and survivors are getting a 2k/2e.

To clarify, the overall game is about where they want it but they did indicate they’re working on trying to help solo survivors be on par with survivors on comms so they’re not happy with that gap. And when they start giving solo survivors additional information, for example, they may end up also having to give killers a slight boost to compensate too.
But yeah, gen speeds are probably about where they’re supposed to be more or less.
