Should DBD give back offerings if a killer disconnects before 2 minutes?
I just had someone disconnect, we were probably 2 minutes in, killer was moving around and all, then disconnected. I lost my offering of course cause the game had started.
There was no chase, no one did a gen, idk if he just didn't like the map. We get screwed with our offerings just because the killer left.
I think we should get our offerings back if the killer decides to DC or accidentally DCs within 1-2 mins of the game starting.
If a survivor DCs everyone remaining still gets use of their offerings, but if a killer DCs right after the game already started survivors waste their offerings because they don't get it back.

I'd say no as SWF could abuse it to no end with white wards and map offerings with a rotating designated DCer who brought no offering if something goes wrong.
Plus it would reward bully squads/Griefing killers who manage to make a killer/survivor DC.
Remember this would allow a 3 man SWF to grief the solo in the game into DCing while keeping everything crazy they brought in to piss of the killer with.
Edit: Or just think about it like this: Solo queue is bad enough as is and this change would reward SWFs for making it worse for you!

If a survivor dcs, then the killer should get their stuff back, but not their teammates, as that would be abusable by swfs.
If the killer dcs all the survivors should get their stuff back.

If match did not cancel, offerings and add-ons should go like normal. I don't think this system needs any change.

You dont think it's unfair that everyone has to lose their items because the killer decided he didnt want to play that match after one minute?

if survivors DC after starting the match they just DC the game doesnt end so that wouldnt apply, im talking about a killer deciding they dont wanna play the match anymore super early during the match, not halfway through it

On the one hand, I hated using good add-ons as Killer only to get a bad game where Survivors DC'd.
On the other hand, RPD, Haddonfield, Badham, Cowshed ect ect

Yeah but the rest of the players shouldnt be punished because you didn't like the map, they should at least get their stuff back if the killer dc's right after the game started.
If a survivor dc's nothing happens, the game continues, only if they dc during loading is when the game ends and you do get your stuff back.

Yeah the game doesn’t end if a survivor dcs but more often than not it’s enough to ruin the game anyways especially if it happens early on, so it’s not really any different than the killer dcing a lot of the time.

I think addressing why killers are leaving within the first minute when survivors throw everything they have at the killer is more pertinent of an issue over losing add-ons/offerings.

Some maps are just ######### and while I don't encourage people to DC, I can't blame someone for not wanting to endure a SWF on Badham.
And no, if a Survivor DC's early the game IS over. Unless the MM has really really ######### up, you will not win a 3v1.

Game started, you won your points, you have your escape bps. So what?

Well killer already lose all add-ons/offerings no matter the outcome and a survivor that DCs early costs a bbq player like me more than 10k points on average and that is low stacked. 5-7,5k from the stack alone and then there is one target less to make BP from without killing the other 3.

Yeah, I was also thinking more like, map offerings and addons as well.
Nobody did a gen, nobody got on a chase so points were minimal during that game :/

There's not much that can happen during a minute to make the killer leave, a gen lasts 80 seconds, unless a SWF decided to spawn all together and gen rush in less than a minute, i'd say yes, it's enough to leave, but that wasnt the case, no gen was done, no chase happened, I think the killer literally just DC'd, like connection issues

The game is over for the survivors, but not the killer, the game continues and people does get points for the duration of the match, even if the survivors give up, the killer gets chase/hook points, when a killer DCs right after seeing the map, survivors most likely wont even get a chance to get on a chase or to do a gen

Too easily abusable by survivors, they won't do it.
Source: every time they implement a new thing that can be abused by survivors, it gets abused by survivors.

How on earth would it be abusable by survivors? They don't mandate whether the killer wants to DC or not.
If a survivor DCs the game continues and everyone still in the game gets to use their offerings.
But if a killer DCs a minute after the game starts he screws everyone up cause the game ends.
I'm just asking to get offerings back that were practically unused cause the killer dc'd

Right. If it's only when the killer DCs early on, sure. But it has to be early enough in the game that no one could do anything, not mid-to-late-game DC. And only if the killer DCs, and it ends the game super prematurely, not if a survivor DCs. That would be the abusable part.

Exactly, thats what im asking, I had a game where the killer dc'd within the first minute or 2 and nobody did a single gen, nobody got chased, he either had bad connection or didnt like the map.
If a survivor DCs nothing should happen, cause the DC will lose their addon and the rest of the survivors and killer will get to stay in game and use theirs.
