Well...
If it were not for dbd there wouldn't be dbd forum.
If there wasnt for that I wouldn't have been able to bully gann into playing hollow knight.

Hard to choose, honestly. I am a big fan of the core gameplay design, especially from the angle of a killer player, but I'm also a huge fan of the character design and most of the character writing. Some of it is a little questionable, but all of the characters at least have a really strong core design and concept.
Oh, and the art team always knock it out of the park, too.

I don’t think there’s any one thing I love about the game tbh, but I do enjoy winning a tough match, or turning a match I shouldn’t be able to win into one by taking advantage of the survivor’s overconfidence.

I enjoy playing as killers from the movies I like and I rarely get any toxic survivors so I'm happy

Positivity!?!?!
When this game is firing on all cylinders, it can be one of the funnest experiences in gaming. JUST barely catching that last survivor as they sprint to the exit or finding a way to lose a killer who was a second away from cutting you in half is awesome.
Unfortunately that seems to happen way less and le...NO TIPPY! POSITIVITY!!!
The game is super fun when everything is clicking

- The music is pretty great all around, I’m really looking forward to the new Legion mix tapes. 🙂
- Character variety and map variety are top notch and it’s cool how they’ve managed to pull in so many well know characters from other franchises. When else are you going to see Ghost Face and Freddy and Sadako all in the same film or game?
- Most importantly the main gameplay loop is a lot of fun as killer. (I’m not into the survivor gameplay but that’s just me.) Yeah it can be tricky sometimes, especially with so many killers if you’re playing them all kind of randomly like me, but it works well and is often pretty close overall. Aside from the endgame being a bit dull where you have only one or two survivors left to find, or when the gates are open and it’s just a matter of the survivors finally deciding to leave, the rest of the game is kind of tense and engaging.

It definitely has some of the most interesting lore I've seen from a game, so it's fun thinking about stuff like that (stuff like which DBD characters possibly knew each other outside the trials, any actual escape from the Entity's realm, approximately how much money did Ace owe to debt collectors before he was taken).
And also the crossover aspect of seeing Steve, Ash Williams, Bill Overbeck, and Cheryl Mason bullying a low tier killer on Haddonfield.

The game has a decent amount of support, every time I see post saying the game is dying or the game will die have not seen what happens when a game is actually dying.

the game has an amazing concept behind it.
if only the execution of this concept could have been better...

Same even tho Hawkins was taken away. To this day I'm still surprised they acquired the silent hill and resident evil characters.

Playing licensed killers from movies like Freddy and Leatherface. I want a Myers buff and a Jason chapter so bad to finish the pantheon. Pinhead was such a huge gift to me too

I'm a HUGE horror movie buff. I collect movie memorabilia and even have my entire chest tattooed in honor of my favorite horror movie of all time, Scream.
Being able to play Hide n Seek either as my favorite killer or against him makes me feel like a kid again.
I freaking love DBD.

I would say definitely the memories. Certain matches stick in my head, certain people I've met that have been a part of my life.
Me and an ex of mine who I met via the DBD community used to take turns each day being Trickster on RPD in a custom match and would carry each other around the map aimlessly. As we did, we talked about anything and everything. Our past experiences, what made us who we are, our morals and ideals on situations. We talked about some pretty heavy stuff but it always felt really close and easy. We particularly liked to hang around the library area.
Now even though I hate the RPD map, whenever I run into the library I'm always hit with residual fondness of those memories.
I've had other areas that strike me with the same fondness for certain people I've met and certain memories. It makes the DBD experience really personal for me.

I bumped into my now best friend when I first started playing this game, over two years ago.
I also made a lot of other friends through facing them as survivor or killer.
There are some nice people out there ^.^

I love the concept of it. There isn't really a game quite like it. And it's a game that majority of my friends online play so it's a good game to hang out with whether in rank or customs.
I also love the grind ... I'm fairly new maybe a couple 100hrs on it and yeah sometimes I'm just like ... IT NEVER ENDS but also I kinda like it. I wish the grind wasn't as intense as it is now, but still fun.

Worldbuilnd, the art and the amount of crossovers.

The crossovers with such iconic characters. Steve Harrington from stranger things and Ash William's from evil dead against pinhead from hellraiser? That's exactly why I want this game to never die!!!!

For me it's the positive interactions you can have with people. The toxicity sadly overshadows them, but you can have a lot of fun with some people.
For instance, I like to play a lot of Doctor nowadays, and if I see I have a live ttv in my lobby, I'll put on both calm addons with Monitor, Dark Devotion, Tinker, and send everyone to Lerys. 9/10 times, I get to have a good laugh with them and then I can watch the vods after to see them either be jumpscared, amazed, or completely confused.
Or the time I met a SWF as I was playing Nurse. They were named as a family, (Mum, Dad, Son, and Daughter) I had the opportunity to kill one of them, but I chose to let them escape as a family and they were super nice.

The music/audio design and the look/style, both of these for the most part are always great.
There is some really cool creativity when it comes to the look of characters particularly killers, maps and the overall style.
The chase and menu music is also pretty great!
