Is camping and tunneling now staple in killer matches?

You're just trolling at this point.
Tell me, how is Trapper supposed to get more than 3-4 Hooks? He can't Hit N Run to apply pressure thanks to CoH and he can't chase, nor use his Power thanks to DH. He can't protect gens thanks so splitting up on gens and no amount of slowdown is going to save an M1 Killer

Teamwork counters tunneling, aswell as being good at looping.
Doing gens counters camping
2 -
So survivors have to be good at looping (to half-way counter something) but you can just Camp, right?
You just proved my point.

R6S is one of the most toxic community's too. Maybe a but less then For Honor. But yeah DbD is up there too.
0 -
Nothing like teammates spawnkilling you, because you got more kills or your teammates starting a vote kick, when you are the only player left against 4.
3 -
I know how to play the game. If none of that ever happens to you against high mmr swf.
Sorry you are lying.
1 -
Killers wanting to kill you. How dare they.
4 -
Killers dont give cuddles.
A good swf will often counter camping and tunneling.
Near Impossible to counter good comms though. It shouldnt exist.
This isnt an army game were comms would be normal. Besides it being 4 vs 1.
Just take the game for what it is. Have a rough game move on.
Only thing that makes me overly annoyed is hackers.
Not talking about blatant so much.
You know the ones. You play ring a roses and no mind games work. You wait for bloodlust and should get a hit in before pallet drop but no they got bloodlust too and gain that all important foot.
0 -
Yes,you can thank boons and gen speeds being out of control for that and the fact survivors can abuse swf.
0 -
I agree, coh pretty much denied any kind of other good ways of playing killer, hit and run for example.
0 -
Kinda like holding m1 on a gen?
4 -
Do you often find yourself starting matches on the hook without ever being chased? Or do you think in these instances the survivors hopped up there themselves and the killer just watched? Because I gotta say, even to camp, you still have to be good enough at the chase to win 2 back to back before you can even hook someone. Also, as they long ago fixed hooks to where killers can't actually afk facecamp, you can, through working with your team, save someone. And no, it doesn't take comms, just common sense.

never have i ever seen someone so equally toxic and salty my goodness
0 -
feel that hard, ive given hatches over a hundred times and only ever recieved a thank you one time. rough stuff
1 -
Camping won't get more than 1 Kill unless Survivors throw.
And yes, Survivors should be able to be good to counter tunneling. It's 1v4, countering the Killer as a Survivor should be hard
1 -
Sorry :( have cat burrito
3 -
Would even happen in ranked even Plat and up. Never did hit diamond, but specifically only played ranked and people would still TK and throw fits. You 1v4? Awesome here is a TK from your team mate next round lol.
1 -
Oh it won’t? So why do people bring Deadlock /Noed/NWO to further extend their time.
Sorry but the whole “camping only guarantees 1 kill” is outdated now.
Also, saying countering a killer as survivor should be hard is hypocritical when your whole scheme or “strat” is to use a game’s unbalanced playstyle by simply standing there.
You are clearly bias about one side.
1 -
but whats the excuse for people camping when theres no CoH in play :|
1 -
Deadlock only works if Survivors don't split up on gens.
NWO will only get 1 Stack if you camp which isn't much.
NOED will only get you 1-2 downs tops if Survivors don't find the Totem, which isn't hard.
Camping isn't unbalanced. Keep telling yourself that and maybe once the devs introduce a Perk that halts all Generator progress if the Killer is within 12 Meters of a hooked Survivor, you will be correct
2 -
They can't possibly know who has CoH and who doesn't.
3 -
Trapper is my main and he will get more kills than Demogorgon on average. He's a better designed killer than Demogorgon. Demogorgon is completely helpless in loops, while a Trapper can shut down a loop instantly. Plus Trapper can snowball way-way harder than Demogorgon any day of the week. I hate it when people say Trapper is weak, he's actually a pretty good killer.
1 -
Will Trapper get more kills on average? Yes, but only because he comes with the game, is the face of the game and is generally easier to play. Demogorgon isn't even available anymore, nor is he even that easy to play.
Demogorgon is not even close to being helpless in loops. His Shred deals with almost every non-junk loop in the game without needing set-up or anything.
The only way Trapper will snowball is if Survivors throw.
Trapper is weak. He is an M1 Killer that gets his Power countered by every Survivor meta Perk
3 -
What else are survivors supposed to do? there's only 3 chests by default yknow.. stupid analogy kek
1 -
Camping and tunneling results in killer getting kills.
Repairing generators results in survivors escaping.
Its stupid if you only see it from 1 side.
2 -
Well I mean if you are getting camped and tunneled, it means you got downed/caught.
Just don't get downed lmao kekw
2 -
For the above, are those methods the only way to achieve the objective?
Wouldn't camping and tunneling just mean bypassing the main gameplay loop to reach the objective as fast as possible?
So basically for survivors it would be like having keys around the map and the hatch spawning at the start. You bypass the main objective for an easier one to get faster results.
0 -
and im sure survivors are sweating their literal bums off with high iq plays such as holding m1 on a gen and looping. Mom gotta give the nea main a towel for all the sweat on their forehead. These gens ain't gonna do themselves! *wipes forehead*.
2 -
By that logic what else should killers do except camp and tunnel? They don't even get to open chests
2 -
That analogy only works in a world where survivors put themselves on hooks.
"Bypassing the main gameplay loop" I'm guessing you mean chasing? Which, to be clear, it's absolutely impossible to camp anyone without catching them first, i.e. taking part in the main gameplay loop.
So no, it's not bypassing anything, it's just making sure one objective is completely finished before moving to the next one. Just like survivors do with gens. You don't run around making sure every gen is at 75% before finishing one, why would a killer try to make sure every survivor is at 2 hook states before killing one? Especially when they can't even see hook states in game, and would have to manually keep track outside of the game.
1 -
"Deadlock only works if survivors don't split up on gens"
What? Are you even playing the same game? If survivors don't split up gens the likeability that the killer will get another kill, becomes higher because you can't finish all 5 gens in the amount of time (120 seconds) it takes for someone to die from the hook.
I will keep telling myself that because it isn't a secret that Camping is unbalanced atm. Hence why the devs are going to change it.
So maybe while you rely heavily on hook camping (which sounds like you do with how much you defend it) others like myself will continue to push for a change on balance with concurrent information rather than with outdated one.

You'd still need to get the keys. It's also not like survivors crowd one generator, complete it and all of them move to the next generator.
The killer is the main part of the gameplay loop, if the killer targets one survivor then the only thing that have to do is complete generators. It's not like they are going to scare themselves off generators.
If this is the intended gameplay then you can pretty easily replace the killer with an NPC.
0 -
1. Are keys known for running away and trying to stun survivors who chase them?
2. Replace with an npc? DbD mobile does that. It's still not the same, because the ai lacks judgement and nuance. You don't always camp, just when it works. Ditto for tunneling.
3. Yes, the killer can only interact with 1 survivor at a time, that's life. Until they start a 4v4 mode that's just the way it works. Doesn't matter if they are tunneling or not.

Blame BHVR. Their design decisions keep pushing killer players towards tunneling/camping and away from 12-hooks playstyle.

The idea I thought I could come up with was a perk that punishes camping at the beginning of the game, what would it be like? for a time limit if you were put on the hook the killer camped the hook would burst and stun and blind the killer, but the way i think the perk would be kind of like a "corrupt intervention" to prevent a survivor from being prevented from not be able to play right at the beginning of the match
For example: the perk is active for 70 seconds from the beginning of the trial, during this time the killer cannot camp a surv, like, I agree that the camp is necessary during the game, but at the beginning of the game it doesn't make much sense a killer campar, if he's doing well at the beginning of the game

COH is not the reason killers camp. Camping started to increase when MMR was introduced but it has always been complained about. Also, many streamers feature some form of proxy camping or promote getting one survivor out of the game immediately. Monkey see, monkey do.
2 -
Is Dead Hard/Unbreakable/CoH now a staple in survivor matches?
Spoiler: On bad survivor players, yes.
1 -
Remember unlike survivors killers don't get to see the other side's totem perks.
Aka a killer CAN'T know if CoH is in the game unless they see MULTIPLE survivors self healing near a boon as Self care/med kits exists.
Its one of the main issues with boons in general(Not just CoH) is that the killer is left in the dark about them and have to assume the worst if they hear one being placed.

I really enjoy camping/tunneling toxic people out of the game, particularly if they're in an SWF.
Once the toxic person is dead with minimal points, I suddenly become very bad at the game. I'll eat every pallet, make motions that they can stun me for free, stand still for blinds, just can't seem to make it to any hook after a down, etc.
I guess I just lose my bloodlust :(
The toxic player gets to sit there while every pallet on the map is used, their friends get tons of points (usually near the cap), and it's just a general good time with lots of interaction and silliness.
1k/3e is good enough for me :)

Sure bud. Whatever helps you pat yourself on the back.

Splitting up on gens is the fastest way to finish Generators. It sounds to me like you just don't know how to play efficiently

...I hate to break it to you, but the the first like... four things you listed here are things you can usually easily play around and or can just get Survivors outright killed if they aren't playing well themselves. Like, looping is practically a core gameplay mechanic at this point (If I remember correctly, they teach you about throwing pallets at least in the tutorial nowadays). Pallet Stuns can be avoided depending on the Survivor and loop- like pallet camping can still sometimes get you a hit through the stun, respecting denies a stun, and baiting pallet saves is easy and can get free hits. Flashlight blinds don't effect what you can hear, and you can avoid saves by staring at walls or, again, baiting them out. Body blocks require coordination to get good value out of, and I'd argue that one depends on the scenario for counterplay. (In the same way I would argue that Gen Rushing is in a weird spot, because of the Killer's potential to snowball later in the match.)
Plus, making the experience unfun for someone else doesn't change anything. If anything, it just increases the amount of people who start doing things like run all meta perks or holding W instead of actually looping, because they think if they don't, they're going to get camped/tunneled. Or they're going to just stop playing the game. (Like, no one wants to get facecamped/tunneled out at 5 gens left, in the same way no one wants to get harrassed in end-game chat.) Two wrongs don't make a right, and encouraging the continuation of the playstyle isn't good for either Killers or Survivors.

I get complaining about body blocking, but loops and pallet stuns? What do you want, for survivors to just keel over and die the moment you spot them?
2 -
This game overall started to be a waste off time. Sad...

Dude, CoH is not a problem, but people in game!!! Yezzz. Many times I have playing against tunnelers and campers and were no CoH at all. So perk is not guilty but huge amount off new come noobs aka new players here. People are the main reason why this game going to hell
1 -
If u loose, just God damn accept! It works also!

The devs are why the game is going to pot. Players can only do what the devs allow. Camping/tunneling are good strategies in the lower ranks, because they work. As soon as survivors gain some map and loop knowledge, both lose effectiveness. Input a perk that forces it, however, and it just brings it back among all ranks.

there's a way to eliminate camping and tunneling but devs won't care about this: make those 2 strategies ineffective and gave more bonuses/incentives for people who do mixed hooks (for example every time that you hook someone that wasn't the last hooked survivor, generators will freeze for a certain amount of time, while people who camp will have their hook teleported elsewhere). in the same manner survivors shouldn't be allowed to keep working on generators when the killer is just straight up behind them or they are chasing in that zone ("tunneling" generators). before someone will say that this is different, well, it isn't. think about it: both sides have goals that must accomplish, if you complain about tunneling you cannot complain about genrush and vice versa

Sometimes Survivors do it to themselfs.
I had a match with a Nurse (Not my favorite killer btw, I am not good with her), I want to hook a Survivor and leave for a new one. These guys started to swarm my hooks, running around me while I carry someone, while I am trying to leave, etc. Like 2+ people around me and all I want is to just leave...

I'm not complaining about those things. I just think the survivor entitlement is funny.
