kill the obsession is not a fun rift challenge

I'm slogging through the "kill the obsession 10 times" challenge and it feels both mean and unfair. I love the challenges in which you passively add cumulative points towards a goal and honestly hope ALL rift challenges going forward will take this approach with "complete action x a series of y times" or "spend x seconds doing this" in a single trial will pass soon do to the near game throwing levels it takes to reach them and make them a thing of the past. My problem with killing the obsession specifically comes down to to problems. 1. Encouraging a player to hunt down a specific person is not very fun, fair and interactive to all parties involved. (remember O.G. dying light?) 2. Getting someone else to become the obsession after the obsession dies is near impossible meaning it will take countless matches to do it. The only killer perk that can reliably give you a new obsession is nemesis but a killer is supposed to bait pallets at any chance they can and by the time you kill a survivor many pallets are bound to be used up. Sure, survivors could ds you or use for the people but again, it's YOUR challenge and you don't decide what perks survivors use or how they use them.

Use rancor if you have it then follow the obsession all game

I don't think it's healthy for the game this quest too, but if you want to play more "clean", use Rancor as @TeabaggingGhostface said and if your obsession is still alive until the end game, you will be able to kill them quickly.

I'm not saying that "killing the obsession" is difficult. It's the lack of means of doing it twice or more that makes it grueling.

By sheer coincidence I played Clown tonight with Nemesis and Play With Your Food as two of his perks. I got a 3k with one rage disconnect and two Obsession kills out of it. (If they hadn't disconnected it could have been 3 Obsession kills.) Basically just force the pallet stun, they become an Obsession, down them and hook them. Rinse and repeat.

Of course that quest still takes a while because even with Nemesis you're probably only getting maybe 2 or 3 at a time even assuming you kill 3 or 4 survivors, and you might lose the match and not kill an Obsession at all! But Nemesis does definitely significantly increase your chances of killing the Obsession at least once if not multiple times.

You can use nemesis (the perk) or furtive chase to generate more obsessions. You can also tunnel survivors. 9/10 times they have ds which also generates a new obsession. But I do agree that these challenges are just tedious.

Furtive chase will not generate a new obsession after killing the obsession because to make another survivor the obsession, that survivor has to unhook the obsession. It's a great perk if you're doing the challenge for HOOKING the obsession but it won't get you extra obsession kills.

But Nemesis will. Use that if you have Oni and get stunned on purpose.

Alternatively, just try to tunnel and hope you get ds'ed.
