Merciless Storm
I need help regarding the Merciless Storm perk. Is it worth running? Are their any synergies with other perks? Is it better on a specific killer? Any info will help this perk looks interesting.

I think it's only good with doc skillcheck build

It’s okay on doctor and no one else. On him though the skill checks can change direction after each individual skill check and can change placements on the screen as well so it’s actually kinda funny.

It's... Really not that great, but if you wanna get some use out of it I'd suggest either trying to use it as a distraction (Silent Bell Wraith/Ghostface/Myers) and get grabs, or try and use it for a tiny bit of game stall (use Tinkerer, Ruin, DMS, MS on Freddy w/ teleport cooldown addons, for example)

It actually can be decent if you combine it with Furin, which is Spirit’s global phase sound purple add on.

Would the perk be a lot better if the skill checks were to be removed and the gen blocked upon reaching 90%?
It only triggers once per gen so- perhaps?

Wait... ACTUALLY? I'm a doc main and I didn't really think it would affect his skill checks, that's awesome, I want that now, lol

Yes and unnerving works with storm as well.

That's great, lol

merciless storm, hex: ruin, dead man’s switch, tinkerer
1 -
No.
Even in ideal situations, the fact that it can trigger once (and once only) means that even at the absolute best case scenario it's a much worse Tinkerer. Usually, once survivors know it's in play, they'll be ready for it.
As above have said, it may have some niche utility on Doctor. Otherwise...you've got infinitely better choices.

It's useful to a point on doc. You have to devote a lot of your build to making it work but once you reach a certain caliber of mmr survivors are unfazed and you'll be lucky if it goes off.

Use tinkerer for effectiveness or unnerving precense for skillchecks, merciless is a joke against non AI players.

######### perk against decent players ... but can be funny in meme build, e.g. nice synergy with tinkerer for easy and fun grabs on gens in indoor maps

As survivor I usually complete the storm checks with no issue. (Save for that one time...)
On my Onryo I run Merciless Storm and Ruin together, and survivors fail to weather the storm a surprising amount of the time. Then I just pop over with a nearby TV and Ruin regresses the gen while I'm in a chase with them.
I haven't tried it on any other slasher but if you see a gen turn white and can pop over there, I can get value out of it.

Tofu did a nice build on stealth killers, combined with Discordance and Tinkerer.
If Tinkerer is activated and Discordance is off, Merciless storm will activate the second Tinkerer runs out. So you can perfectly time your stealth and wait for the first 1 or 2 skillchecks to happen, when they are focussed you can get easier grabs. Then hook the guy and the gen will be blocked until you are done hooking and apply Pop just as the gen releases.
Just need to remember which gen already proc'd Merciless. And of course best bring indoor maps

Use Tinkerer. It does Merciless Storm's job way better

In low ranks, it's super good.
In higher rank match-ups, it's flat garbage.
In the beginning, it screws over unskilled survivors and makes gen's explode all over.
As it stands, once you get nominally skilled survivors on generators, the only time they will blow is when you chase them away.
The best perks to run for this are Huntress Lullaby and Tinkerer. By the time you get to a gen with tinkerer, you can force them off by the time it procs and, if Huntress is up, they can wave goodbye to a significant chunk of their gen progress.
However, this perk is very fickle. Bringing Huntress and Tinkerer JUST TO MAKE IT WORK will not be good value.
Especially since after 1 failed skill check - this perk is dead on the generator forever.
Either it will give you information or regression. There are better info perks out there, and there are better regression perks as well.

This makes me wanna face a doc with it now

its a meme perk
2 -
no, it'd be worse and have less synergy.
The perk by itself isn't much.
But if you combine it with other skillcheck perks its pretty nuts.

Merciless Storm is just a slightly stronger version of Overcharge. Someone may flub the skill check the first time if they're not expecting it. Once they know you have it it's pretty much useless.
