Why are flashlights so OP?

Like seriously, the angles are ridiculous, im staring dead center at a wall and a survivor flashes on the side of my face and it counts!? Then you can double stun maybe even triple stun so fast with the add ons!

If any of you survivor mains are gonna tell me "Just run lightborn" or "Learn how to evade them" I swear you dont know how it feels to get robbed of a nice chase.

Angles can be weird but are you running shadowborn or monitor and abuse?

oh ok but be noted those can actually increase the angle if used

It won't solve 100% of the flashlight saves but always try to face a wall when picking up a survivor even if nobody in the game is running one so it becomes instinct. If someone is trying to go for a save they're not working on a generator so keep that in mind when you're getting swarmed by survivors.

Hate to say it but lightborn and learning to evade them are your options.

I run lightborn a lot but that's because I'm lazy and I play Myers mostly so staring at someone for half a bar of stalk while they stand there trying to blind you is great.

They need to look at flashlights and the blind mechanic as a whole tbh

My problem with the flashlights are that they are sometimes unavoidable.

Locker safes exists, some crazy spots that you think you are safe from while looking into a wall and you still get blinded somehow or my personal "favorite" - getting blind after 0.5s since you allready turn away while picking up someone and you still get blinded even when you looked away at the last sec.

My advice to you would be, if you see multiple survivors in the lobby with flashlights, and especially if you suspect they're in a SWF, when you down a survivor, just take a few seconds to look around and do a quick patrol of the area to see if any survivors are getting in position for a save, and then bait the first pick up so that they come out of hiding and send them away with a good smack. Do this multiple times if you know for a fact that there are survivors around trying to get the save. Other than that, just do your best to always be looking at a wall when you pick up if possible, and if not, then make sure you turn away from any survivors relatively nearby before you pick up so that they can't get the save in time.

Personally, I don't find flashlights OP at all, but I sympathize with your frustration. Good luck.

Calling them op is a little bit much but the 90+ degree angle blind is still bullshit and always will be.

But i am also a follower of our lord and saviour Lightborn and don't have to worry about that most of the time and enjoy them dancing around Infront of me achieving nothing.

And that uses up so much time that you just don't have as killer. Then another gen pops, they pick themselves back up, and you're back at square 1

breaking a pallet with lightborn, 99 T3 and a tombstone piece whilst they try to blind you is also great

I wish they'd get rid of locker saves, but i'd rather survivors have flashlights than other items

  • I’ve recently unlocked lightborne.

    permanent in my perk slot.

    So helpful

My advice to you is to run Lightborn. It will save you a lot of headaches. Some survivors are way too comfortable clicking and flashing but then panic when they realize, "Lightborn? Chuckles I'm in danger!" It's one less issue that you'll need to worry about. If you really want an added effect, run Lightborn and Franklin's Demise. I get a ton of nasty messages about making someone lose their precious Purple Flashlight. At this point, I have more respect for survivors that know how to cover each other by sabbing hooks. Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with flashlights but some people can't cope without being able to use one.

I like that you mentioned this. If I suspect an SWF then I'll run Lightborn, Franklins Demise, NOED, and Starstruck. Depending on my Killer and mood, I might sub Franklins for Tinkerer. I'm finding Starstruck to be somewhat useful lately since these specific teams always manage to find the NOED totem seconds after it activates (yeah not SUS at all right, lol). Franklins is just for the added effect of making them lose their precious flashlights and then yelling at me in the after-game (assuming they have PSN).
