Simple hag change idea

Here's my proposal:

  • Her traps can no longer be destroyed with a flashlight.
  • Survivors on top of an untriggered trap can break the trap with an action that takes 1-2 seconds.

What would change:

  • Unless survivors are coordinated, they won't be able to destroy hag's traps while being chased
  • Hag players should hide more their traps, more like trapper;

What do you think of this?

    I think if you could walk over them instead of crouch it would help and I play hag. She needs QoL, not major changes.

    Survivors would be happy for this change. Hag players, not so much. It would effectively neuter her ability to proxy camp, which is basically the only viable way to play Hag. Which is why I want her totally reworked.

    I agree. I’ve tried thinking of ways to adjust her before, but over time realized it would end up making her massively weaker no matter what pretty much.

    But intended counterplay being to bring a specific item into the match beforehand when you don’t know it’s a hag is bad design when simply crouching over traps is often not practical when dealing with traps near the hook depending on what the hag is doing and how far away she is.

    A quick fix others have suggested is that her traps nearby a hook disarm when a survivor is unhooked. While it might help, it might actually encourage camping more (since she wouldn’t be able to teleport and moves so slowly, may as well guard the hook). I want her to have a whole new power, but don’t know what it would be.

    Thankfully, she’s seldom seen these days.

    Yeah basically. I mean it would help since camping from afar would be less effective. But that might just be replaced by traditional camping instead.

    And I'm definitely not complaining that I never see her. Fun fact, my last 118 solo survivor games have featured exactly 1 hag and she was the last killer who hadn't appeared yet before I finally ran into one.

    2 seconds to disarm her trap is a bit too short. It sort of makes her on the same level of trapper, and as countered. But do agree that her traps shouldn't be near hooks.

    Quick spiel: Hag can't do much if you break her web early before she has pressure, of if multiple people start triggering her traps at once. But yeah, pretty oppressive if you don't know its her before her web is up.

    I don’t like it, flashlights are annoying enough as a means of disabling our traps. Essentially making it base kit would not be fun.
