Is there MMR decay?

So I stopped finding the game fun cause every game felt the same with the same 7 or 8 perks either toolbox or medkits and more often than not a coldwind offering because of this I decided to take a break cause I assumed there would be some form of mmr decay but when I came back rusty as all hell and ######### up most mind games but diversity wise it felt the exact same with my first match being 3 deadhards and a sprintburst with a game offering and of the 5 games I tried to play each one had at least 2 deadhards with 2 of the game having 4. Idk if just all mmrs now use the same stale perks or my MMR was still the same or what happened but it left me wondering is there MMR decay?

    I believe there is decay but the perks you are talking about are 100% meta and you are going to see them no matter what. Even new players are suggested to run these perks and as DH and SB are both on free survivors they will often get them. DS is one that many will also rush out to get. These perks are going to be everywhere because they are often the only defense survivors have against the camping and tunneling killers.

    They talked about adding something like that for players who took breaks.

    There isn't MMR decay at the present time, it's something we did discuss about adding though...to help players who've been out of the game for some months. So you would have the same MMR as you did when you last played.
