Using Discordance with Call of Brine
I don't know if others have had this problem, but I've been having a heck of time using these two perks together. I believe most players already know this, but here's how discordance works: when 2 or more survivors are working on a gen and the killer has that perk, the gen's aura will light up in yellow, revealing its location within a 128 meters.
Again, I believe most players already know this, but call of brine works like this: when a killer equipped with that perk kicks a gen, that gen will begin regressing at 200% of its normal speed for 60 seconds. Not only that, but the gen's aura will also light up in yellow.
Therein lies the problem; I can't tell which perk is making the aura of the gen yellow. Other than remembering which gen you kicked, which in my opinion is very difficult in this game, is there some way of telling the 2 apart?
If not, then Behaivor should make them different colors. Maybe call of brine could be green instead of yellow. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I could submit such a request to Behavior?

Discordance gives you a notification noise when it's activated, so when there's a sound of the gen you kicked and it's still yellow, it's discordance

Edit: Found the answer to my own question. Discordance will only light up on the HUD when active. So pay attention to that.

Discordance icon lits up when it's on, so it's an indicator too ^^

Thanks, went to research after writing! 🙂

I think you mean call of brine. When a survivor completes a good skill check on a gen affected by that perk, the killer will receive a loud noise notification. Also, please aware that in my opinion, you can't always rely on that. When you're in the middle of chasing a survivor on the other side of the map, you may hear the notification but you might not see where it's coming from. Therefore, I believe the perks should be two different colors for the auras of the gens they're affecting. I like the idea of the call of brine aura color being a ghostly green.
This is true but it won't tell you which gen is which. In my opinion, you can't rely on that.
I also realized that a killer could run into same problem using discordance and/or call of brine with surveillance. I believe that perk should have a different aura color too.

It sounds more like you're choosing to run two perks that conflict with each other, and I don't think you will find a way around that. Discordance is really a perk you run when you want to chase 2 survivors off a gen knowing full well the other survivor you don't chase is going to come back and start working on the gen again, better slow downs to work with that are Dying Light, Theatrophobia, Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain, and Hex: Pentimento. Otherwise you will need to remember what gen has Call of Brine, and then make an estimate on if the noise notification came from Brine or Discordance.

OP has a very valid point. It’s not up to us as players to ensure perks have reasonable synergy with each other. The devs should definitely address this.

A different thing, does anyone know how or if Surveillance works with Eruption?
Eruption makes gen Auras yellow after kicking, Surveillance makes gen Auras white when regressing (which usually happens when kicking).
About Discordance and CoB, not that great. You get definite Discordance value at the start because you didn't kick a gen yet, but after kicking a gen with CoB it could mean 2 things:
- They either hit a good Skill check, notifying you. (CoB)
- Or 2 people are on the gen, notifying you. (Discord.)
It's just another awkward Perk oversight, like "Surveillance and Eruption" I mentioned above but at least with Discord. + CoB, you know you'll find a Survivor on that gen no matter what.

I’m pretty sure Eruption takes priority, turning the generator yellow and making Surveillance useless.
They should just make Call of Brine and Eruption white and then have it turn yellow with Discordance or Surveillance. This would make it easier to understand as then white gens would represent long term effects whereas yellow gens would represent short term effects.

It's not required to have all perks to have reasonable synergy with each other either, actually very much the opposite. Like it's often bad to run Corrupt and Ruin because you're just giving survivors encouragement to find Ruin at the start of the match forcing them to run across the map. Likewise some perks have to synergize with other perks like Hex: Undying. Building your loadout is apart of the strategy of the game and some combinations are just bad strategy, like Discordance + Call of Brine.

I'd rather combos like oppression into overcharge to be work on first.
But in general alot of perks could be made to combo

That'd be great with the "long term" "short term" making them different colours.
Or just make half a gen yellow and the other half white.. just kidding.

Oh yes, i know this with Surveillance.
Pretty annoying all gens are yellow with these perks.
