Change the controller priority of R when Dying and on the Hatch

When in the dying state and on / approaching the hatch can you please change the controller R button priority so that R lets you go into the hatch and does not default / prioritize for Recover?

Numerous times I have gotten to the hatch in the dying state but I have to approach it repeatedly, until my R button action changes to the escape hatch option. I’ve even had nice killers drop me at the hatch, but I have to maneuver back and forth until the option shows up.
