Feel like I'm at a big disadvantage playing killer on PS4
Hi everyone, I have been playing dbd, specifically killer on PS4 for a while now and have recently started to seriously suspect I am at a disadvantage compared to PC gamers for a couple of reasons.
First is the slower fps. I am really struggling to hit survivors that fishtail and spin, I genuinely feel like I am blind when I get close to them. I can not for the life of me track them consistent and I have followed many tips on this subject. I recently watched someone play killer on pc and the camera movements looked so smooth compared to the clunky PS4 movements. They were able to stay on the survivors with smooth movements, something I just struggle to do on PS4. Second is the controller itself. I have to use my thumbs to control the camera movements and it becomes extremely difficult to track a survivor as there is not much control with my thumbs for the intricate camera turns needed. My thumb also often slips of the joystick at crucial moments and leaves me really frustrated. I went out and bought thumb grips but they don't really help. With using a mouse, there is so much more control since you're using your whole hand.
I used to think it was a myth when people would say play on PC for higher level gaming but this game has got me questioning myself. I also think playing on PS4 might be part of the reason my playing is so extremely inconsistent, I go from brilliant one game, to god awful the next few.
Should I just give up playing killer on PS4 and stick to survivor? I like to try and play my best and at a high level and don't want to play a game when I am at a big disadvantage due to the platform.

Hi there.
first of all: you are at a disadvantage compared to PC killers. But you will never directly play against a PC killer anyways and theoretically ‚skill-based matchmaking‘- system should match you against survivors you have a chance against.
i will try to give you my thought on your struggles
struggling to hit survivors that fishtail and spin, I genuinely feel like I am blind when I get close to them.
that is something PC players also experience, but the sensitivity a mouse provided makes it way easier to track survivors and to basically make broader hits due to spinning yourself with the mouse. You can adjust the controller sensitivity in your games settings to some degree and if you haven’t done it I suggest to try different settings and see where you get a better feeling.

try different ones, read reviews on them beforehand. I used to have some that made my controller sticks actually way more slippery than before 😂

thats something many many players experience and this is not on you nor your platform. It’s the game design and kinda necessary, as it would get boring to only ever be brilliant in every one of your matches. Though the game design sadly makes losing especially as killer very frustrating.
i would say you shouldn’t stress yourself over a game. If you still have fun then by all means, keep playing killer. Maybe set yourself different goals, focus on challenges/daily’s/etc instead of only focusing on winning or how many gems get done how fast. It’s okay to enjoy a game on a casual level.
