Do you hooks as far as gen as possible so they need to go to another half of the map for resucre?

Do you hooks at close as gen or traffic area as much as possible so you can control that area?

Do you hooks on area that are deadzone and wasted pallet?

I usualy want to just hook them ASAP. If it's endgame then hook that is more far from gates.

Closest white hook. Otherwise closest hook.

Special rules: Hill hook or basement if I expect to capitalize further from defending the hook.

Usually whatever the closest hook is for me (barring using Scourge Hooks). Basically the faster I can hook someone the faster I can get back to pressuring the other survivors so the time it takes to reach the hook is the most important factor to me. If hooks are equidistant than I might consider putting someone closer to the next gen I want to defend to be a little more efficient.

Options are generally limited. After about 9- 10 moans they wiggle off.

I try to hook them on the closest hook but if a gen is nearby then any other hook I can reach.

I generally don't pay much attention and go for the closest hook. If I can reach a scourge hook, that one. If there's a gen I want to defend, I'll try and get a hook in that direction to shorten the travel time. If I'm running Devour Hope, I try and hook them away from the center of the map. If teammates are nearby and acting like they want to sabo or swarm, I pick a hook in the opposite direction so they can't get in my way in time. That's about it as far as the hook decisionmaking goes.

that's the same as me. It's partly why I rarely use the basement because i don't want to waste the time getting down there.

    Before the fifth gen:

    Usually the closest hook ...

Unless there is a basement near.

Unless there is a scourge near and it's the right time to proc it.

Unless I have an important Hex close.

When the fifth gen is about to pop:

The furthest hook or the basement.
