Need A voice chat 2022
There is no reason for this game to have no Voice Chat or any chat for that matter for Playstation[I play on PS4]/Console players. The is much easier when you know what others are doing why? Well when the Killer is chasing me I run it to ppl the are working on gen or healing them self or each other or what ever there doing does not really matter what the point is I need to know what they are doing so I don't bring the killer to them and escape with out hem/her chasing another player because I lead the killer to them. This happened a lot!!! I should not have to leave game to build a chat with other players to find out what they are doing. If illfonic a same inda game campany can have a voice chat so can you!

There's no app on playstation to voice chat with friends? I'm pretty sure xbox has something of the sort.
If you're talking about voice chat when solo Q, I think it would be an awful idea. In all games I played that have voice chat, I ended up cutting it off because of trolls / people with an awful microphone or even just because their place is way too noisy.
What would be cool would be information on what people are doing on the hud ("repairing a generator", "purchased by the killer", "healing", ...), an emote wheel ("I need healing", "I'm going to unhook", "I'm going to distract the killer", etc.) and pings.
These ideas comes from suggestions on how to reduce the gap between swf and solo Q.

I talking about playing solo. Yeah there is PPL that will abuse the voice chatz but I think it will help ppl that play seriously. Yes there is plenty of time to click on each name if there playing on the same thing as me and add them to chat it just a extra step to lazy to do.

Better not.
People already cannot really handle post game chat on PC. It is good console doesn´t have that.

AHAHAHA it should be a option. Like turn it on or off! I don't mind a little toxicity it everywhere.

There are actually a few reasons not to include voice chat- it'd shred the tone to pieces, for one, and there's no way it wouldn't lead to an explosion of toxicity that BHVR would undoubtedly struggle to moderate properly.
It also wouldn't bridge the gap between SoloQ and SWF, that huge gap in experience that makes balancing so difficult would still very much be there for a huge majority of the playerbase, so that's another reason it'd be a waste of resources and time.
Needing to know what your teammates are doing is definitely part of what makes Solo and SWF so dramatically different, but voice chat wouldn't solve that- better to have other, more consistent methods of knowing at least what your teammates are doing.

Please no.

Voice chat is in Co-op games for a reason to help each other. If you add little thing like body language ppl do not really pay attention to that much.
I play ummm game like Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six siege, Hood:Outlaws & Legends, Predator:Hunting Grounds and Friday the 13th: The Game I can go on and on.
All games like this should have a voice chat

I believe it should be a option you can turn of if you want, I don't believe ppl have to download Discord to play with a friend on PC or another playing on a different system then you.

Right, but every game that has voice chat also has other methods of communicating or receiving information, because voice chat isn't always applicable.
Voice chat would add nothing to this game, fix none of its problems, and make things materially worse. It's just not worth it, other options are better.

As people have already stated in this thread, (see @jesterkind's post above), voice chat just would not be a good idea. I'm all for buffing solo-que, but this isn't the way.

Like what?!? There is other options because not everyone one has a mic that is why there is other options not because the voice chat add nothing. Like examples Among now has a chat version why do that if chat does nothing?

Well, to pull from a game that I have personal experience with, Overwatch has the ping system, the kill feed, the ability to see teammate outlines through walls, visible health bars and ultimate charge for your teammates, and passive character callouts for certain things changing. Of these, only one - the ping system - actually requires your teammates to do anything for you to benefit from it, and that's one of the reasons why voice chat isn't a one-size-fits-all solution; not everyone is going to own a mic or be willing to speak into it.
Another reason why voice chat isn't the solution would be the language barrier. If a solution only sometimes works for one region of players, it's not a solution at all.
I'm not saying voice chat inherently does nothing all of the time, there are situations where adding voice chat to a game would be the right call, but Dead By Daylight isn't one of them. The nature of the problem isn't fixed by a voice chat system not everyone will be able or willing to use.

Ok? It will not hurt anything to add one do.
What do you think is a better option then?

It would also ruin DBD's immersion it has going for.

For a start, something equivalent to the things I just listed would be the best first step. Even if you want voice chat (which, to be clear, I personally do not), the work to set it up has to be done first- the people without the capacity to use voice chat need to be considered as well, but they also have to be considered first.
The suggestion that BHVR floated for action-status icons is a great first step, but I'd also suggest being able to see your teammate's perk loadout, and maybe some visual cues for what direction your teammates are in generally- I don't want to cannibalise the value of aura reading perks, so I don't think you should get constant teammate auras, but something for location is probably going to be necessary.
(Also, yes, it will hurt something: it'll hurt the tone and it'll allow toxicity to be even more potent. Those may be acceptable downsides to some, but they are unambiguously downsides.)

What immersion there is a sound for the killer
0 -
It would be pretty funny to hear survivors ######### themselves when i sneak up on them
1 -
Ok I keep that in mind well I am trying to focus on my skill check and watching where I am going well the killer is trying to kill me for the perk where you see auras does not last long and some ppl many not want to wast a skill spot to use.
This are not good reason! Also there is something called block or mute you can do do anyone if you don't like...

I think a ping wheel with a cooldown on pings (to prevent spamming) would be better for avoiding toxicity.
1 -
Ok voice chat will not mass that up in anyway
0 -
This is a game I need to pay attention to other thing then a ping.
Also a voice chat system is very easy to put it those other options will be more a pain to program
0 -
P.S there is a mute button!!!
0 -
Responsibility should not be on the victim to make up for toxic people.
3 -
Are you kidding me???
0 -
Why should someone else have to reduce their ability to communicate with teammates because the toxic player can't be a decent human being?
1 -
Like I say mute them block them!!! The game is toxic ether way... Muting the toxic person does not effect the whole team.
0 -
Or, the toxic players can grow up and quit being toxic.
1 -
Exactly
0 -
Voice chat is much harder to moderate and is much easier to be toxic on than a cooldown-restricted ping wheel. Or do you support an immediate permanent ban for any voice chat toxicity whatsoever on the first offense so that toxic players don't cause problems for others?
1 -
Do you not understand mute ppl. It's very easy thing to do. It does not mass you up anyway the person being toxic is going to play toxic soo...
0 -
Why not just use Kindred or Bond, and combo it with Open Handed for more range.
1 -
I don't want to waste my skill just to see want my team is doing i don't care that much.
Skill I use is Dark Sense,Borrowed Time,Self-Care and Spine I normal do not use borrowed time and use Chill Lithe
I don't want to wast a perk spot just to see ppl aura it doesn't last long enough to do anything anyway.
I do just fine on how my perk are now

Mute isn't the miracle weapon in vc you try to make it. First of all why should I need to drop what I do to open the menu find that guy and mute him? When I am in the middle of a chase and some kid starts to scream and curse or blast his Musik I just look at the killer and say hey wait a second or what? And second when I block a toxic piece of trash in vc he will certainly get that and bombard me in chat after the game wich is super supoptimal because I never use vc in any games so I will get hate for not wanting to interact with strangers nice. Oh and don't even think about saying I can close the chat. I do not need to close my chat and loose the ability to talk to 4 nice players because some guy thinks he is the big military tactic hot shot or some kid never heard the word no from there parents.
And I think I don't need to start with all the racism and sexism that gonna come with vc.
Vc isn't what the game needs a ping wheel and a wheel with short sentences your char says it's what the game needs
4 -
Ahahaha OoO yeah it Soo hard to hang over a name and click to block/mute them! God damn!!!
0 -
Yep cause I would need to either listen to guys like you rambling in vc while on chase or just throw the chase and mute you that's a great system. If you want vc go find three friends and play swf but when I see how you act here I think that isn't an option for a guy like you
2 -
You want
You said in your post you don't want to lead the killer to your teammates Bond can help with that and can make the range further with open handed and it lasts forever when you're in the range of how far it'll go.
1 -
Ok
0 -
I talking about chat that only for survivor kill no hear me, me no hear killer.
I am sharing my opinion and I don't agree with you and you do not agree with me that is fine.
I don't like ping system but what about this as a idea.
A set of work for you characters to say like quick chat but the characters say the words and set the key to the face buttons on the control?
0 -
I think it could work for controllers to. I remember a prg I once played on ps4 I don't remember the name that had 4 abilitys on the symbol buttons but when you hold r2 it changed to another set of 4 abilities and I would say with 8 messages your good to go more could be confusing to use in the heat of a chase
1 -
Ok:) Assassin Creed games I think do that if I remember right
