Does tunneling really exist?
So hear me out I know it's Bild statement.
I think tunneling doesn't exist atleast not how people typically use it.
Most people use tunneling to discribe when the killer downs you direktly after you get unhooked. So that means the killer is either direktly at the hook when you get unhooked or atleast near it.
So in my mind that means tunneling doesn't exist because either the killer was facecamping and in that case its a camping problem and that needs to be addressed no matter what and bhvr is working on that. Or the killer is patrolling and or just didn't had time to even leave before your mate decides to unhook you like a lunatic and then the killer exploits the failure of the survivor team.
Further I see people complain when the killer by chance stumble over the recently unhooked guy healing or something and doesn't just walk by wich I think is just super silly to demand.
So what are your opinions to that? Do you see it otherwise?
I find the term tunneling often gets used for the wrong occasions and often people just demand the right to heal up and work on a Gen because they where recently unhooked.
I want to make clear that this isn't supposed to be a buhh survs cry killer have it hard enough threat. I just wanted to state my view and would like to hear other opinions to that view.

For me tunneling is when a Killer actively focuses exclusively on one Survivor ignoring the rest even if he has a better chance of downing them, it does exist albeit tunneling alone is exceedengly rare, its usually paired with camping or proxy camping.
I dont considering finding the same guy 3 times on a row tunneling because it lacks intent, that person just sucked at stealth and the Killer just happened to find her instead of the others.

If you chase a survivor more than once in the game, you are tunneling.

Tunneling does exist, but the term is often used to describe situations that are not actually tunneling.
If I'm camping and immediately go for the unhooked survivor again as soon as they get unhooked, or if I'm not camping but immediately go back to hook when the unhook happens and go for them instead of the rescuer, that is tunneling.
If you just so happen to accidentally run into me again recently after being unhooked, that's just bad luck. If you're actively working on any kind of objective, that's not tunneling even if you just got unhooked.

Eh, I think if the killer is camping because they intend to down the person immediately if they get off the hook, that's still tunneling. But if they're camping and they happen to down the guy off the hook in the surrounding unhook chaos, that's just profiting off the situation. (Especially if they were originally going after someone else and the unhooked player bodyblocks with BT.)
In my eyes, tunneling is when a killer intends to remove one survivor from the game and targets them until they're dead, ignoring any other targets or objectives that present themselves. Stumbling across the same person several times in a row isn't tunneling, though it can feel like it (particularly because the survivor doesn't know what the killer's intentions are.)

for the most part killers are proxy camping all the time. wich is the big problem specially when is an insta down killer. Tunneling for the other part does exist and that consist on hard focusing JUST on one survivor even when the others appear in front of you and they get ignored just to go for thet specific survivor, thats the definition of real tunneling even when the survivor was lost the killer is still searching for that one survivor that will find eventually, and if they dont sometimes they even DC lol... when that happens IMO bhvr could do something to help and prevent that, in fact i already suggested if the killer is proxy camping the time on hook should be increased at the very least, like camaraderie taht at least would help the rest to do gens, a kindred basekit should also be applied, because they wont create anything but at least can use what already is in the game. guaranteeing 3 escapes in those scenarios could drastically help with that issue cause u know if it doesnt work it will get used less, the reason why they use it is because it works, proxy camping forcing double stages, trying to catch survivors going to the rescue... these 2 changes wont change that but can definitely change the outcome because what i said bhvr is way too laxy to implement something that could change hard camping and tunneling wich they also promote.

It does, but is vague. If a killer is actively going after a specific person as if their targeting them, we can call that tunneling.
If the killer has been put into a position where that sure is the best way to continue with the game, that's just not.

When I play survivor in the evenings with my boyfriend and a friend of ours we see it all the time. They're both Iri 1 survivors and I used to hover around the mid purples/low golds now because I don't play survivor often but to us its pretty common.
When someone is hooked we just leave them there for most of phase 1 and focus on generators and then when they get unhooked we'll try to get the killer to focus one of us instead if they aren't already and a lot of times just nope, they'll ignore the rest of us and go right for the person that got unhooked, down them, and hook them again.
Then when they get unhooked, same thing. Right after that person until they kill them on death hook.
It never results in a snowballing effect for the killer, it just makes for a boring match for the rest of us, and a really ######### time for the person who got tunneled out of the game.
Even basekit borrowed time wouldn't stop stuff like this, but at least I'd be able to bring a different perk for that slot to try to have fun with.
But I'm one of those weirdos that actually doesn't bring Decisive Strike, Dead Hard, or Unbreakable.
