Strategies/Builds to stop Genrushing?

I like to play killer a lot. Decisive and looping doesn't bother me, but what extremely irritates me is genrushing. By the time I get one person hooked, 2 gens are already done. Hex:Ruin helps, but if a survivor is good with skillchecks, what can you do about it? Not only that, but Hex perks get found pretty fast. My hex perks get cleansed pretty fast. Hex:Ruin has helped me sometimes but it still doesn't stop genrushing. I want to know if there are any good strategies or builds or perks I could use to stop genrushing. Also, I'm not mad at survivors for doing their objectives. I'm mad at how fast they get done. Each survivor has 2 hook states, and there are 4 survivors. How am I supposed to kill survivors if I can only get 1-2 hooks per gen on average? I'm not trying to be a salty killer main either. I just want to know what I have to do to stop genrushing.
