Question about new prestige system
The livestream made it clear that when you prestige a character to prestige (1/2/3) you will instantly gain their three unique perks at tier (1/2/3) on all characters of the same role that you have unlocked. I have a further question, though: What if I have a character, let's use Nemesis as an example, at prestige level (1/2/3) and then a new killer, let's say Garfield, comes out and I buy him instantly. Will I immediately have Nemesis's three teachable perks at level (1/2/3) unlocked on Garfield? In a similar manner, let's say I also have never purchased Freddy up until this point, and now I also buy Freddy along with Garfield. Will I have Nemesis's three teachable perks at level (1/2/3) immediately available on Freddy? I imagine the answer to both of those questions will be the same answer, but they may be different.
If the answer is no to either or both, that is very frustrating, as it means that now when a new character releases, we will still have to spend millions of bloodpoints on them to get every perk in the game on them. If the answer is yes, that is great, but it may also mean that dedicated players will end up with the million bloodpoint cap and no longer have perks to buy with them; if they are dedicated and already have every character at prestige level 3, then every time a new chapter releases, the only grind required will be for the general perks that are not teachable. It may not seem like a big deal to players, but the developers may worry that players who previously have been playing only for the completionism of having every perk on every character will fill that urge and play other games until the next chapter.
Maybe the best answer would not a simple yes or no, but a "it's complicated" in order to satisfy both players and developers. What about this: when a new character is released or you buy an old character you didn't immediately buy when they released (you heathen), then you can choose to instantly gain X amount of teachable prestige perks at tier (1/2/3) that are available for that character. If not obvious, this would not affect players who don't have any characters prestiged at all, because there would no perks available for them to unlock in the new menu (no I'm not going to draw a mockup of it, just imagine it your heads). I can give of example of this with Garfield when he finally joins the killer roster eventually. Let's say that I have Oni and Wraith at prestige 1, Pig and Hag at prestige 2, and Nurse and Huntress at prestige 3, and that X is 7 (it would hopefully be much higher, at like 50 or something, but I'm using small numbers for an easier example). Then when I purchase Garfield the moment he shows up in the Steam store and then go to his bloodweb, I am greeted by a new menu. This menu says that I have 7 Perk Points (PP haha funny I'm 8 years old) to spend. It also shows me Oni's and Wraith's teachables at teir 1, Pig's and Hag's teachables at tier 2, and Nurse and Huntress's teachables at tier 3, in the same layout that is already used for selecting perks to bring into a match. I can select up to 7 PP worth of perks from this menu to instantly give to Garfield, and each perk costs PP equal to it's tier. So I could select tier 1 Shadowborn for 1 PP, tier 1 Zanshin Tactics, tier 2 Hex: Ruin, and tier 3 Thanataphobia. That would be a total of 7 PP. Hopefully you can understand there are tons of other possible combinations too, like I could get all of Oni's and Wraith's tier 1 perks for 6 PP. But wait, what about that last PP? Well, if you have a character at prestige 2 or 3, then you could still buy one of their perks at tier 1 or 1 PP, or a prestige 3 character can have a perk bought at tier 2 for 2 PP or tier 1 for 1 PP. Spread the PPs everywhere!
Anyways, if a dev is reading this and can confirm a yes, no, or it's complicated for my original two questions, please do. Also, to the devs and community, what do you think of my suggestion? Too complicated, or just right to satisfy everyone?
