Unusual Behavior
Sorry, this is lengthy, but I'm kinda blowing steam, and kinda trying to figure out if I misread two situations here. I appreciate your patience.
I was just in the longest match I've ever had, as in excruciatingly long, and it included some behavior from two survivors I was a little confused about. I've only been playing for roughly a month, and have had a tendency to play conservatively, very cautious, although seeing as how poorly I do on points, I started taking more risks, and for the first time lately I broke the 20k mark on my score, yay! Anyway, last night I saw some behavior from both the killer and two survivors that bewildered me, maybe I was missing something on their intent.
We were in treatment theater, I was one of the survivors. At one point, we had two generators left to power up (maybe just one? can't recall) , and all of us had been hooked at least once. I was trying to finish an unhook daily so I made a special effort to unhook as many people as possible. The killer was huntress.
At one point three of the four of us ended up on the overlook that looks over that area that has the TVs playing videos of people being tortured. The generator down there was one of the ones that hadn't been done yet. The huntress just kept on moving back and forth between the area where that generator was, not going to check the other, not leaving the area. I didn't think at the time she knew we were above her head, but the fact she was not checking the other generator(s) was a little odd I thought, just wandering around right below us.
Meanwhile, Meg started flickering her flashlight at me and pointing at me. No beckoning, no then pointing another direction, just pointing at me and flashing at me. And not at the other survivor up there with us.
I was wondering if she was trying to tell me to go or something. I'm not sure what she was trying to tell me, why it was just me, etc. I wondered if she thought I was being too cautious, but the other two were also up there. And the huntress I feared was also watching both stairs and could hear us drop through the hole in the floor there, so I had been trying to decide my course of action; this wasn't helped by the fact two other survivors had been hiding out up there with me.
Anyway I finally started inching my way towards one stair, deciding I'd make a run for it when the huntress was facing the other way, when meg zoomed past me. I broke into a sprint and followed her, and we escaped.
After that point, we continued trying to get a generator powered up. Whether we had two or one left when up on the balcony, we were down to one when Meg got hooked for the final time, leaving me and Dwight.
And then about the time I stumbled on the Hatch, Dwight got downed. So I thought, well, that sucks, but at least I can take the hatch once Dwight was hooked, as this would have been his third time too and I could take the hatch as soon as he was hooked. Note: I had already been hooked twice as well.
That left me and him. The first death had happened by that point as well, and Meg being #2, that just left Dwight and I.
Only, the huntress didnt take him to a hook. She picked him up, carried him in circles, dropped him, let him crawl around for a bit, picked him up again. Eventually he'd wiggle free and he would actually stay healed for quite some time before she would drop him again.
It became obvious she was trying to use him as bait. I would have liked to have saved him, but I was not going to be baited into that. I don't unhook camped allies, I think very carefully before going into the basement to unhook someone, etc. As I said, I haven't played very daring, but I'm trying to play moreso than I used to, as I grew weary of having such low scores compared to my allies.
Anyway, this went on for a LONG time. I mean, a really long time. It was excruciating. It was past midnight, I was exhausted, and this jerk wouldn't hook Dwight. When he was near death, she would carry him until he wiggled free. Eventually, Dwight crawled to meone time he was down. No sign of the huntress. I was like, #########? She just let him crawl away?
Suspecting something, I started healing Dwight, but I failed a skill check and, the second I did, I heard her lulliby and took off running. She managed to chase me for a bit but I finally lost her. She went back to dwight and started the entire thing all over again. Eventually, he wiggled free again....
And when he found me, he started chasing me with his flashlight shining on me the entire time, while the huntress chased us both.
My thought was, #########, is he trying to help the killer? Maybe he was angry I'd not healed him, or failed that healing check, and was trying to end it, and me, in revenge? I have no idea what to make of it. Anyway, the huntress dropped him again, chased me, I escaped AGAIN, and Dwight, finally, bled out.
And I won the hatch escape stand off.
Normally I'd have felt a sense of victory, but this time, I was exhausted, irritable, and just generally felt bad about the entire experience I was so tense and wrapped up it took me quite some time to calm down so I could get to sleep. I keep wondering if I'd somehow let the team down based on two characters constantly flashing me and pointing at me and maybe I just wasn't getting what they were saying. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

I wouldn't worry about it who knows. I've played like 1.5 years and wouldn't of had a clue. Its probly 2 little kids.
Just play how you're comfortable. Watch some youtubers to see how they play to get a feeling for the meta gameplay then slowly adapt your playstyle if you like.

I've been watching hybridpanda lately; I love how he has a running dialogue with the other characters lol

Killer wanted the 4k. Like desperately wanted the 4k. If Dwight was working with the killer they would have been sandbagging you from the start. I think Dwight thought the killer wanted to kill YOU and would probably let them go so he ratted you out when he got the chance but failed.
I hate killers that do this. It's one thing to slug the third guy and look around for the last, or leave them so the other can get them up. But when you hover over a slug like that you are just being a toxic #########. I flat out drop survivors on the hatch and still walk away with a 2 pip as killer. They are doing it because their ego won't let anyone escape. That probably means they are a ######### killer that doesn't get kills much.
