Question about the new prestige system
so after the new prestige system was announced, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a question i had. So i was wondering what exactly will happen to teachables i have unlocked from characters i haven't owned and haven't unlocked on my characters. For example, say i bought bbq and chilli from the shrine, but i don't own leatherface, and i haven't unlocked bbq and chilli on my wraith either, will i just no longer be able to get bbq and chilli on wraith without buying leatherface or rebuying the perk in the shrine?

I think if you've unlocked a teachable it stays unlocked. It just won't get added to every single Killer's inventory like it would if you prestiged Bubba.

The Shrine bought perks will continue to function the normal way.
The Shrine will continue to be the free way of getting perks from Killers you cant buy with shards. which you also unlock for them all.

If you buy perks from Shrine, they will open on your all characters. You will not need to search them in bloodweb.
And yes, you are correct. You don't need to buy Leatherface for perks if you already bought perks on shrine.

"The Shrine of Secrets will also benefit from this progression system rework. 'There won’t be a teachable rarity associated with the Shrine anymore,' reveals Matt. 'You’ll be able to buy your chosen perk tier directly from the Shrine, though the higher tiers will cost more.' Upon purchase, that perk will be immediately available on every applicable character.
If you’ve already unlocked tier 1 of a perk – let’s go back to The Trapper’s Agitation for a second – you’ll be able to buy tier 2 and tier 3 from the Shrine at a discounted price. We’ll be sure to provide further information on the Shrine closer to release, so stay tuned." - from the article on dbd's official website

maybe i didn't explain my question the best, what i was trying to ask, is if i currently own the bbq and chilli teachable but i haven't unlocked it on all my characters as a perk, will i have to rebuy bbq and chilli from the shrine when the update comes out to unlock it on all characters without buying leatherface?

Though the question is whether that's retroactive on perks bought in the shrine prior. I'd assume yes unless we see otherwise.

I'm still confused on how perk out a survivor killer will work. Say I only have baseline killers/survivor. IF I max out there perks will they convert to p3? What's the baseline of survivor/killer perks one would need to get to that level prior to converting to the new system?

I don't think we have anything specific on that yet. Just that there's a catch up mechanic for people who didn't prestige where credit towards prestige will be given based on how many perks a character has and at what level.

i feel like this will be part of the "prestige catch up" system they mentioned- it would probably cause bubba to be automatically prestiged for you so you keep your perks

yes and no.
yes, it is still the free way to get perks, but it won't function the same.
teachables are gone- for good. no more. you instead purchase a perk from the shrine at whatever level you want, and it will automatically unlock it at that level for everyone instantly. higher levels cost more, but this is discounted if you own a lower level already

No, the prestige catch up only applies to characters you have spend a lot of BP on. For example, having unlocked all the perks on a single p0 lvl50 killer without prestiging them would get you to p3 lvl 20(not based on any real number, just speculation) and someone with p3 lvl 50 all perks might become p5 lvl 10.
It would be really weird to have a character p0lvl1 turn p3lvl1 just because you unlocked all 3 of his perks on another killer.
You will keep all the perks and items you unlocked from the bloodweb. But having t3 on all of Bubba's perks on Trapper still means you would have to p3 Bubba to unlock it on all other characters. This is why there is an additional compensation. Otherwise the prestiging would be the compensation.
