Bug or Cheater?
Just had a weird match and I'm not sure if someone was cheating or if I got some sort of bug. I was catching up on a challenge from the last Tome where I have to kill the obsession. I was going almost exclusively after the obsession with the intention of letting the other survivors go. After the toughest chase I've ever had (at least ten minutes, probably more with a few flashlight saves) I finally was going to kill him.
Except when I press space to hook him, I get frozen in place. I can't hook him, move, or even do an M1 attack. The other survivors start crowding around me and clicking their flashlights so I assume they're a hacking SWF. One of them was streaming so I hopped into their stream. The streamer, the obsession, and the obsession's one SWF friend were all talking in the chat and were just as confused as I was.
The streamer finished the last few gens and went to spectate. The fourth survivor (who if the three I talked to were telling the truth, would be the possible hacker) also left at this point. We waited for the endgame timer to go off and when it did, the game didn't end. The obsession was still stuck on my shoulder. I took the DC since I don't have a penalty.
Has anyone heard about this happening to someone else? I've got video evidence if it was a cheater but if this is a known bug then I don't want to go through the report process.

There's a hack for that and hackers can trigger it on other survivors being carried. If they sounded confused, it's very possible the rando was cheating.
There was also a bug, but it usually involved a dc when being carried. However, I wouldn't rule it out.

Sounds plausible it was a cheater. Especially with “the toughest chase I’ve ever had.” Although I’m lacking context there, wallhacks, increased speed, more than 4 perks, etc, are all possibilities.

If the bug is associated with a DC, then I'm leaning more towards the fourth survivor being a cheater. If that's a tool that they can have, then I feel that's the more likely scenario here. The possibility of a bug is still there, but the timing just feels way too convenient.
I don't think that the survivor I was chasing was the cheater. His perks were Dead Hard, Built To Last, Borrowed Time, and Unbreakable. Everything I saw him do all game is explainable with that loadout. We were on Temple of Purgation so he was able to see me over most loops. It felt like he just knew how to manage his distance well so he could get the most loops out of each pallet, plus all four survivors had flashlights so I was blinded at every opportunity. I guess increased speed is a possibility, but if it was there it was too subtle to tell and my footage didn't start until we both got stuck in the hooking animation so I can't go back and check.
