Evil Dead

How many people have checked out the new Evil Dead game & what do you think?

I've been playing it for the last week and it's definitely grabbed my attention away from DBD. I played a few games of DBD tonight and ended up going back to Evil Dead after an hour or so.

It's definitely got a few bugs that need ironed out but it's looking quite promising if they continue to develop it in its current state.

For me I would say I get around the same satisfaction as DBD from playing killer to demon in Evil Dead, but not as stressful. Survivor on the other hand is significantly better and so much more fun.

Anyway I hope more people check it out because it's definitely got potential.

    It looks cool.

    I've considered buying it.

Yeah I wasn't sure I liked the look of it and didn't buy it straight way, but it's definitely the best game I've spent like £40 on in a long time.

Nah the Demons are OP once you level them to 45. I've only leveled Necromancer to max level & had quite a lot of multiple winstreaks with him. There's some games you just outright overpower the survivors in under 5 mins if you get an early find on a survivor. The Puppeteer is even more OP when played by a good player, but his powers rely on a completely different build.

Survivor can be mega OP also though with the right class comp & high levels. I'm doing Army of Darkness Ash at the moment & at lvl 20 he's becoming an absolute beast.

I bought the Deluxe Edition and I am kind of regretting that

Not because the game is bad but it's a good game with a ton of potential. But that's mostly all it is right now; potential

If you think DBD plays out the same every match, wait until you play five Evil Dead games in a row.

As a survivor, you need to get through as fast as possible because the longer you wait, the stronger the demon gets. The demon at the very beginning is such a non threat that survivors will commonly just split up to do stuff because the demon can't one v one anyone at all until they get a good 15 minutes of time in the game to get strong enough. There are four classes but ultimately they play out pretty similar.

The demon games have the same issue except your first 15 minutes or so is you being as effective as a wet fart against the survivors. You have to hope your mosquito attacks are annoying enough to slow down the survivors long enough for you to actually get some decent powers. There are three classes of these but again, it plays out super similar as there's really no real concrete difference in demon types.

It's similar to the wild swing in who is OP as DBD except instead of brand new baby players versus vets, it all happens in one game. Once the demon becomes powerful enough, there's not a whole lot the survivors can do about it. Unless the RNG screws you of course (good God how many times have I been a demon who was exorcised 800 damn yards away from the last objective while the survivors are right next to it; the last thing I need to defend is 3/4 the way through by the time I get to it).

It's a fun game and being only $40 is helpful but right now it's a shallow experience that needs a lot more to it besides name brand if it plans on sticking around.

Well I don't agree that playing 5 games then everything feels the same. There's multiple builds & tactics to be had by every Demon and more getting uploaded every day.

The survivors are completely unique to each other, but fit into a class role & all have different talents and talent trees. You also have a huge variation of team compositionsc that can be effective with multiple builds associated with each team.

If you're playing Demon effectively you definitely aren't spending 15 mins hitting like a wet noodle. A necromancer can dominate the game in 5 mins if they catch someone slightly out of position. You spec into basic portals & traps then place your flutist in a good area & you can literally down someone in a few mins & then the game can snowball from there very fast.

I got it last Friday and been enjoying it a lot since I started playing I haven't thought about playing DBD at all.

Still grinding to get my evil ash up I don't have a strong build yet, but I'm getting there🙂

The only problem I have playing demon is finding the survivors at the start and keeping Infernal Energy high, threat level I usually find them about the third map piece. I'll keep playing learning and get better with every match.

Its a groovy game definitely not like DBD

I tried it out and it’s ok. 🤷‍♂️ Not really my thing though, I’ve barely touched it since playing it a few times.

I pre-ordered the deluxe edition, played one game and haven't touched it not seen anything of it.

I can confirm it is leagues better than dead by daylight.

I don't know if it's a fair comparison besides being horror and multiplayer, but it looks fun.

I wish I could afford to buy games as they release, even if it's not the standard $60 like most new releases.

also the fact that it's not on Steam is probably hampering some of it's potential.

I honestly looks really cool, but I never finished Evil Dead. I want to watch before playing the game.

Evil Dead is overhyped. I've played about 30 hours of it, and from my experience number 1 stop comparing dbd to evil dead, it feels a lot more like an rpg than a dbd clone. it's also nothing like dbd and everything like evil dead. Voice chat was a bad idea in this case especially since it's not proximity. it also feels like there's no actual strategy it's just sort of spamming hit buttons until you kill the demons, it's also weirdly too much like fortnite with the way you collect weapons throughout the map. I love evil dead, so I love the game regardless. but I've just really disliked this whole petty attitude of telling everyone on BHVRs Twitter that you're switching to evil dead. my advice: play what you want, don't be petty

Tbh I actually really like VHS, it actually doesn't feel like dbd all that much, and the same with paladins, it's just sort of this thing where, hey we probably should stop comparing games like this, cause obviously there's battlefield and call of duty that are just 2 games in the same genre. But I totally agree with what you have to say, evil dead is an amazing game, but so is dead by daylight

I really like Evil Dead! I find it very different from dead by daylight, though!

I've only played survivor on Evil Dead and I suck XD I love the combat system though! so satisfying to have the animations!

Been playing since release, couple months.

    It's good.

2 major balance patches and a new map already.

If they continue to grow this game, It's going to be great!

I haven't had a chance to play it yet but I think it's really cool that they included Lord Arthur and Eric the Red as playable characters.

Survivor's from different time periods is something that would be cool to see in DbD, especially with Killers like The Plague (ancient Babylon) and The Oni (Feudal Japan).
