I genuinely feel bad for killers

Had this match against a nurse, she played very well, got 2 hooks on all of us, downed us pretty fast, didn't camp and tunnel, but still all gens got done fast af cuz our team was efficient on gens (that's all that's needed for survivors to win). So as soon as the exits were opened she knew that she had lost despite doing so well, so she just stood in a corner waiting for us to end her suffering and just leave. However, the other 3 survivors just kept clicking at her while she stood in the corner, refusing to leave. They were doing that to a killer that played "fair". Killers are such a joke in dbd, i genuinely feel sad for people who play this role, but i also respect them. Congrats devs, you've managed to make this a horror game FOR the killer.

I don't. If you can't 3k 9 out of 10 games, you need to learn how to play. With SBMM feeding sub 100 hour babies to 8k+ hour nurses, there's no real excuse to losing most of the time.

KInda but there is a difference between killer and survivors not only cause there are 4 survivors but there are just a lot more survivors then killers. So even though I think it's kinda bad to do that, there is way to big of a difference for me to say that both sides equally have it rough.

Thats how i play killer the rare times i play for rift, hook everyone twice, no camp or tunneling, and i go afk in a corner, don't assume the nurse didn't know what was doing, it was clear that she she didn't care to win

Exactly lol. 8 hooks and she played fair? Sounds like she got exactly what she was going for. I do that a lot myself, especially when I only care about BP or challenges done

I'll agree with KateDunson and ShinobuSK; that's what I usually do with killer as well. Granted, I'm far from the best killer out there - but I don't like to sweat games so I often don't even want a 3k or 4k. I usually don't go afk either but just chase around whoever wants chase - but ye. If a fair playing killer got 8 hooks and then "stops trying" one way or the other they usually already got whatever they came for.

That being said; the whole "watch me leeeeaaaaave" thing and clicking / notification spamming is super annoying. Yes, as survivor I sometimes wait for a little while to say goodbye; leave an item I don't need or nod as a way of saying "ggs" in game since I don't know if the killer will be able to see chat. But the whole going out of your way to find/annoy the killer is just.... meh. Not a fan.

She was trying to down us after the exits were powered, she just gave up after we made it to the exits and were about to escape. But the 3 survivors decided to not leave and rub it in her face more.

Imagine hitting three birds with one stone. Comeback mechanics for both sides. Thats right you can fix this problem by implementing a baseline mori a killer can aquire by hooking x survivour/all unqiue survivours. But wait nuanced idea this would come along with a survivor buff that increases healing and repair speed the less survivors are in this game.

You discourage tunneling/camping encourage player to stick out tough matches for both sides. Finally make these baseline mechanics not god damn perks. Snark aside dbd needs baseline comeback mechanics. Forgone conclusions and matches end long before they actually end.

I’ll never understand why survivors refuse to leave when they’re all healthy at the exits unless the killer literally forces them out. I’m not going to chase survivors I literally can’t stop from escaping, it’s pointless, at that point I just look for the hatch to see if I can close it or break pallets or just look around to see if maybe I can catch a survivor who neglected to run to the Exit.

For me I want to stay in the match longer for emblem points. Sometimes to rub it in if they played we're turds. But mainly emblem points.

I've said many times I'd love a surr action for killers once gens are done. Would reduce queue times, frustration from playing killer, and make the role more bearable.

Always remember every action leads to more blood points. Even a loss can be profitable. Never give up.

Right, especially when THEM are waiting for US at the gates to give us free hits before they leave. They often seem to leave just a bit before the hit though, probably to be nice and waste as little of our time as possible, but they do it too early by mistake!

  • Triplehoo
    Triplehoo Member Posts: 707

Well, no need for this. Just go open the gate by yourself and go standing in the corner as far away as you can from the gates, after all the gens are done.

  • Phantom_
    Phantom_ Member Posts: 1,374

I usually do this to say some sort of goodbye, like leaving behind my item and letting them get another hit so they get more BP. If it's Pig they usually wanna get booped, GF's love to moonwalk or meme so that's always a fun end to the game xD One very smart GF played with us at the gate so much so that he exposed us and got us to go back to him and downed us and had Blood Warden! Never laughed so hard during a game, that was a chef's kiss of a strat!

But I don't stand there to TB or to be toxic.

  • MrMori
    MrMori Member Posts: 1,691

This isn't about gameplay elements, it's about BM. But I'll say killers that nod shake and hit on hook every time are just as cringe.

I don't feel bad for killers they hard tunnel/slug and camp so much that I have no sympathy for them as survivor. That nurse mistake was obviously play too fairly he got 8 hooks in that game and could probably still get 2K if she would tried. She probably just let you go. If I ever feel bad for killer is when they bring cake and they don't get much points and they played fairly.

But so many killers just bleed out you on the ground and close the hatch front of you so you should not feel bad for them. I don't have really words to say about how terrible some killers are they only purpose is to make others suffers as much as possible. These killers just take all my sympathy away and survivor is just miserable to play without 4 man sfw.

I have good times as killer personally if survivors are toxic to me I destroy them but still I have my limits as I have some empathy I don't close hatch front of someone and if I accidentally do I give them exit gate nobody deserves that. I think im bigger person than those bully survivors. But im not there to play fairly either I adapt my playstyle to make sure I win.

  • dugman
    dugman Member Posts: 9,713

Yeah I wouldn't mind a Concede option for the killer once the gates are open. Just hit the button, all remaining living survivors are considered escaped, and done!

The only minor hitch I could see would be survivors complaining they're being robbed of a handful of bloodpoints by not being able to heal in the last minute or maybe missing out on a last ditch chance to complete some random mission? And while that doesn't sound like that big a deal to me I could see this being a possible point of contention.

I've seen so many nurse videos on youtube of godlike nurse players that slug the entire team in less than 2 minutes that if I think of a nurse that got beat the way you described then I wouldn't think of her as a good nurse player.

  • dugman
    dugman Member Posts: 9,713

I can get bloodpoints by just going around breaking stuff or using my ability a few more times or closing the hatch. (In fact, sticking around makes it harder for me to close the hatch when multiple survivors do it.) And if you're on PC you can always say goodbye or gg or whatever in chat.

You don't underestand,... baby nurses turn into sluggy nurses because of this.

Nurses are like Bubba, they suffer and then make you suffer

IN a few months that nurse will be slugging you guys

It's almost like 99% of Nurse's aren't godlike poggers youtube Nurse's that slug the entire team in 2 minutes, and you can still be really really good with her and not play a full on Starstruck/Agi slug and win in 2 minutes build. If you wouldn't even consider a Nurse who plays fair and doesn't tunnel/camp, gets everyone to death hook, while not knowing the map, their addons, their perks, or the survivors, you're quite frankly someone whos opinion means next to nothing

Those who mock the killer with tbags and clicks are the first ones to cry when the killer tunnels them. The killer is like a toy for them, they just want to mock him and up their ego thinking their life is somehow worth something because they can press E.

I feel like playing League when I play Killer, and yeah, if some of them survived I just stay on the basement and watch some twitch in the meantime until they decide to leave, even if its 20 minutes. They won't leave because their goal is to mock you and make you feel really bad. They are just bullies.

The truth is, if you want 4man as a killer, tunnel is the way to go. Even if it means eating a DS. You have to remove someone from the game asap otherwise all gens will be done in 4 minutes.

I do not feel bad that they are the power role. Instead, I genuinely feel bad for all the survivor fodder that is forced to endure this role discrepancy.

Emblems max out at 9 minutes if you're sacrificed. If you're escaping time is irrelevant for emblem points (escape but was downed once 3 points; escape but wasn't downed 4 points).

Played a little survivor yesterday and went up against a hillbilly who had a really early down. As the last 3 we looped and did gens really efficiently as we were down a person early on. As to my knowledge, none of us teabagged, clicked flashlights, nor stayed at the exit gate longer than needed be.

At end game they had an entire breakdown. Talking about how we were being toxic, bullying him, and entirely trashing on survivor mains. At first I found this a bit funny that they acted that way and said that I was actually a killer main and understood how they felt because I main a low tier killer in high MMR. They proceeded to call me a liar and then (TW) told me how close to the edge they were because of this game to k*lling themselves and ending it all because of how much of a struggle killer was.

I actually felt a bit bad. I knew what they were going through but I wondered how or what really pushed them to that point regarding this game, or if anyone else really feels that way.

Pretty much told them to take a break if it's getting to that point and to treat themselves to their favorite ice cream before the chat closed off. I didn't know how much they were joking or not, and didn't want to say anything to make matters worse.

not for long, wait for 40 perk rework patch where every generator slowdown get nerfed to oblivion. yeah survivor lose dead hard/bt/ds but that won't change fast generators as dev will soon see.

One cannot fight against gen speed without kill speed. She should have learn to tunnel to keep the pressure up. Two hooks in about five minutes? I presume it means the team was pretty immerse (and in that case, camping may be more suitable)

That being said, I really don't like it when my teammates wait at the door when the game is already won. I find this childish and lame.

Yes because it’s only killers that are good and survivors are evil. You do know both sides have their fair share of toxicity.
