Is it okay to select a false region on Steam just to play on different server?
I'm from the middle east and I think I'm connected to EU server.
My ping is always 124 and above always the highest in the lobby.
Another problem I have had since purchasing the game, I always get an "unknown error" message after several games, whether I play alone or with friends. Forcing me to restart the game each time.
I don't know if it has anything to do with my region/server or if it's actually the problem of the game.
I'm thinking to change the region on Steam to try to fix these problems, but I want to make sure that it's safe to do so.
When I tried to play with VPN on, I remember not getting any error message. But the game was unplayable because of massive lag and high ping.

Changing your steam region no longer dictates where you play. I do remember some exciting games from 2016 down in Africa during Blood Hunts.

Steam does not but you can change your server with vpn.
