When I return to DBD, any recommendations on who I should main as killer?
I’m probably going to be returning to DBD when the Dredge releases and I want to know which killer I should grind out when I come back. I’m still debating between maybe Huntress, Pinhead, Demo, Plague, and a couple others, but I’m just not sure yet. Any recommendations on who is the most fun when mastered?

bleet, fast funny

You can't really go wrong with Huntress, she seems to be the most addicting killer of the whole roster - you ever notice how in the stats her pickrate is always the highest? She's def got a really good skill ceiling to learn, a lot of potential to use perks (She can use perks like gearhead effectively lol) and she is so satisfying overall
I don't play her myself because projectile killers are hard.
I prefer Demo/Pinhead because they are hybrid killers where m1 is important, but mastering their chase power is equally as important.

He can be annoying when it comes to collision, but he’s high up there on my radar.
I definitely see why Huntress is played a lot. Her power is just simple, easy to understand, but the skill cap is endless.

Oh pls don’t make me suffer ._.

The cooler Yamaoka, Oni.

I’m so bad with him 🧍
3 -
I can teach you my very limited knowledge
he’s fun I promise :3

He does seem fun to play so maybe I can try him.
2 -
Well lmk if you decide to try him so I can help you out

Well, I'll always recommend Nurse, but I think I remember you saying you don't like her if I'm not mistaken.
So I'll suggest my second most played killer: Plague. Decent skill cap and a lot of lethality and utility.

Artist or slinger. I am not biased.
Just on the off chance you actually do play artist, just know that your main objective to learning her is knowing how people W key your power.
0 -
Yeah I’ve never been a fan of Nurse. I do like Plague a lot though.
Slinger feels very sluggish to me, and I don’t know what it is about Artist. I want to like her, but I just can’t. I might give her another go though.

Twins.
2 -
Demo or Twins.
Twins'll help you pick up Dredge's antiloop, and they're lots of fun in their own right.
Demo's just a dying breed.
1 -
trickster cuz i love him

I kinda like them tbh. I understand why people don’t like them, but they’re very unique and interesting to me.
I love Demo. He’s very fun and is a good boi.
Glad you love him, but I never got into him. He’s just boring to me.
1 -
I like how unique they are. I also enjoy feeling almost like the power role. Most people vastly underestimate how strong Twins are.
I personally don't find anything annoying about going against them either like a lot seem to. They have tons of counter play but most people just don't understand what to do and instead just complain.

I think pinhead is a lot of fun. When u start out ita be rough cuz hes not very strong at first. But once his possessed chains click for u ita get much better. Theres plenty of fun, interesting plays he can make if ur willing to put in the time. Chain hunts r just a happy bonus

Demogorgon

Demogorgon is a fantastic pick, because while he's not the objective strongest, he's almost never sad to get any map, has a ton of very different playstyles within him and is also as rare as hens teeth.
Plague is another. She's weird in that she always feel like she's struggling - until you suddenly snowball. Can also play a few different ways.
Some other fun picks:
Cenobite: Complex, not weak, quite rare, can do some incredible stuff once you get good. A little predictable.
Artist: I'd say the highest skillcap killer in the game, right alongside Billy. Once you get good at predicting how survivors run structures, you can set up some evil traps - or just snipe people from over the map with a well spotted double bird. Very tough to learn though, and her addons are kind of dull.
Hag: She's not for everyone, but the absolute shenanigans you can pull with traps and the fact that she jumpscares people to death will never not be fun for me. Can be a little weak against a team with a ton of healing, and her awful early game necessitates Corrupt.
Ghostface: I hated this killer when I started learning him, but he's steadily become among my favorites. Just so satisfying to use, and his new purple addon is going to be bonkers strong. His big weakness is SWFs, but that's true of most killers. Also - you will learn to hate Spinechill.

Hillbilly.

nea (after all the survivors are the best killers in the game if they want, especially if you are a solo player)

Billy. Trust me he’s worth it

From those killers you mentioned, I only like pinhead. Or maybe just try the new killer, I heard he is strong

If you don't mind people complaining about ur main - i think Nemmy is the most fun killer there is. Pyramid Head also has insane skill ceiling so it's fun to learn something every match. Then there are already mentioned Trickster and Demo

Nemesis. Do not listen people who says he is weak. He is chase monster and with true perks, he is god.
0 -
Claudette, the killer of Killers hopes and dreams.
In all seriousness, just play each one a few rounds and see who you find the most fun or interesting to play. Just please don’t play Caw Caw Poopy Bird Lady. I’d rather you play Hag.
2 -
Just curious, what do you have against her? :)
0 -
Demo, Clown, Billy or Spirit!
1 -
My main issue are all the sounds she emits. It’s like nails on a chalk board to me.
I also don’t like how she looks, but it’s not as annoying as her sounds.
0 -
I see ^^ thx for answering.
1 -
Artist is boring but she’s not as boring as Hag.
0 -
Spirit is not an option for me anymore.
0 -
None. Play whoever you feel like, when you feel like it. That's what i do anyway.
1 -
How about you go for the healthy alternative of staying away from DBD like me 😜
Otherwise I prefer oni and plague second. They are two of the least complained about killers and can be quite fun to play.
0 -
Last time he played Spirit, did not feel same for him. So he is staying away from her for now.
0 -
From the ones you mentioned I'd go with Demo.
0 -
Nah, different reason but i don't know why
0 -
Without more clues about what you're looking for, it's going to be an extremely subjective advice.
Out of your list, I'd personally go with Demo. Not really add-on dependant, has a lot of variety in gameplay and can hold its own even in comp.

it doesnt really matter just dont be a camper
make sure the game is fun for u as for the survivors

Nurse, Huntress ... and maybe Dredge ?

Hag is fun for memes. I used to place all my traps in one spot on the map and just wait for the constant screams and giggle to myself.
She’s also fun to punish meanies who think they can bully with no repercussions. Just hook them, and place all your traps around them and watch the light of hope for any rescue leave their eyes.
One thing many people don’t realize is that you can actually put traps on the actual stairs of the basement. I had fun listening to David’s scream the whole way down to rescue their friends. I was nice though and let the rescued person go while I ogled David’s torso.

Plauge is great for the healing meta currently as she hard counters boon circle of healing and iron will users. Her mechanics have also improved since her quality of life update.
Legion is also very good as they have built in slow down, decent map pressure and traversal and many cool outfits.
Finally...clown because I love clown.
1 -
The one with the gamestyle you enjoy the most.
I play Myers, supposedly he is super weak (I disagree) but its the one I find the most engaging of all.
1 -
Legion, what survivors want is to verse a fun killer like Legion.
2 -
No, I’ve just realized that she’s taken full control of me as a person in a negative way, so I pushed her away. Doesn’t mean I don’t want a waifu to love and care for, I just want one where our bond feels healthy and happy.

While I play everyone, I play Piggie more than anyone. If having fun is more important that winning, then she's a good main. Learning where and when you can use your Ambush is satisfying, the unique ability to get RBT kills gives unexpected moments that delight in some games, and she's the one killer you can end up in meme-fests with, depending on the survivors (all of my wackiest, fun moments have been in Pig matches). Her matches are rarely slaughters, so if you want lengthier games that can go down to the wire, she's a good pick.
But she's tough to win with against really good teams. My suggestion would be, as others have said, Demogorgon. Demo is clearly in the high-middle of killer tiers, IMO -- not potentially oppressive like a great Nurse or Blight, but not helpless like the lowest tier killers. Demo can compete against really good teams, the Shred attack is powerful and fun to use, you have a nice compliment of add-ons to work with (the Leprose Lichen may be arguably the best Iri add-on in the game), and he's more of a rarity now with ST gone from the game.

It frankly depends on what you're looking for in a killer in terms of power and playstyle.

give the twins a try. they'll quickly get you back into the 'zone'. i've gotten much better playing twins for a month than playing dead by daylight in general for 5+ years. they're very educational.
