Now I know what you're expecting when you click on this thread, a PTB complaint. Well its not. It's about auras.
Now you expect me to talk about how they ruin immersion or should be taken out of the game. Nope, it's not about that either, I love auras! In fact, when LF first came out I suggested buffing open handed to soft counter knock out by extending the range. I'm not saying it was solely my input that made the change happen or that is was only my idea, but I'm just saying that I love the aura mechanic and open handed WOULD be one of my favorite perks.
My problem with auras is that SO many have unlimited range!
The current aura reading perks that are affected by open handed (at T3 values) are bond, kindred, OoO, Knock out, plunderers, detectives hunch, and windows of opportunity.
While it doesn't affect Empathy, Dark sense, Aftercare, Alert, Deja vu, and Wake Up!
That's almost half of aura reading perks that aura reading works on, and exactly half if you don't count killer perks! Open handed should be a great perk and a good tool to really make aura reading builds worthwhile, but instead it almost is just used for the meme aura reading build instead. Additionally, if your teammates don't bring aura reading perks (more common) or bring ones that have an unlimited range (less common) the perk will be completely useless for them despite affecting their aura reading abilities! So I think I have a rework that would really help survivors let open handed give the teammates the buff they're aiming for.
Open handed:
Unlocks aura reading potential for you and your teammates. Your aura reading ranges are extended by 8 meters. Additionally, when you and any other survivors are within 8 meters of each other, open handed will allow you and your teammates to see the auras that are open to them. This effect lasts for fifteen seconds after exiting the 8 meter range.
So basically, if you are next to a teammate using alert, you will see the killers aura when they break a pallet just like they can. If you have bond, they'll see the auras that YOU can see. So let's so you go in opposite directions and you encounter another survivor, the auras revealed to the teammate would be the ones 32 meters from you and not the survivor who benefited from your open handed.
I think it adds a TON of depth to open handed and adds a lot of potential to perks like alert, aftercare, and empathy that were previously pretty stuck on your character alone without being affected by open handed. Thoughts?

That seems like a decent buff. Honestly, I would actually make Open handed an extra 16 meters.

I would like a rework to OoO like killer sees your aura when your looking at it by 13/16/19 and you see the killers aura when looking at it by 20/23/26

I love this idea! It wouldn't be meta by any means, but even running it by itself could have its uses since you can see everyone's auras while on the hook.
