Yes, we want an open, diverse, tolerant community. In order to have that, we cannot allow intolerance to gain a foothold. Any argument of "Hide yourself so that I can participate even though I hate you" should be cut out as quickly as possible. (Yes, this includes your desire to not see the rainbow icons).

I mean TBH I would love an option to hide all the Claudettes, but not because of race. I've just been traumatized by newbie/selfish Claudette players in solo queue a lot. While I'm on my soap box I'd also love to hide bird momma. She frightens me considerably.

No, what's disheartening is that with everything that's going on in the world people can still be petty enough to be bothered by an inclusion charm in a video game. If it's that hard to deal with, maybe just don't look at it?

You do realize that there is currently nothing that can get disabled like that? Like not even items, and there is a reason for it.

to be fair, the ability to toggle hats/backpacks for your own customization (not to change the appearance of others) would be pretty cool.

it's not unheard of for some games to allow players to disable other players cosmetics. Town of Salem allows it.
I think it's be cool to be able to turn them off. Also the ability to adjust an extended sound settings.

Other games also have different customization options.
The charms are already small enough that you can't even see them half the time. So I consider "hiding" them an unnecessary option.

How is it destructive? Personally I think all charms are dumb and wish I could toggle them off as they look silly to me.

It’s definitely not needed for charm. Also it’s not needed like that for backpacks/hats - I just think if you had a toggle for backpacks/hats for your own customization on your own character that would be neat.
Also there are cases where hiding the cosmetics from other players could be a good thing: accessibility for certain phobias eg having the option to change Clowns cosmetics to be neutral/not clowns for those suffering from Coulrophobia. Though Homophobia is certainly not your usual phobia at all (and I hate the fact it’s even called -phobia)

You don’t have to equip them yourself.
they are part of the customization for players in this game and people like to equip them to show others what they have/like/support/whatever. They are easy enough to ignore if you don’t care for them (I think I have never actively noticed any charm on any other surv but my own…)

I dislike them due to the immersion breaking aspect. I'm not saying they shouldn't be an option, being able to toggling them off would be a nice option though.
