The Dredge's nightfall in general works very well and has the desired effect, however the blur/border that is static around the screen should be removed as it causes eye strain for a lot of people, including me. After a couple games I feel a migraine forming because of the constant dramatic shift in light level, and its purely because of the black border during nightfall. Its not necessary functionally with how the power works, and only makes it more difficult for people with sensitivity to light, visual strain issues, or other eye problems, and also can bring about those types of issues in people who haven't dealt with it before.
