Is there an add-on or something that inflicts more skill checks on gens for you?

No add-ons to my knowledge but there are plenty of perks that do. Just off the top of my head you've got Overcharge, Oppression, and that Storm one.

Unnerving Presence also increases the likelihood of a skill check occurring.
On survivor side, Spine chill also increases the chance a skill check happens when it's active.
